Hinata's pale eyes sparkled happily as she hugged the love of her life, his azure-colored eyes shut (as usual). He then twirled her around in his arms, glad to be out of the far-seeing sight of her father.

Her laugh rang bitter-sweet in the ears of two young men, both of whom leapt away quickly to leave the beautiful sound.

Kiba shut the door softly, walking sullenly up the stairs as his faithful companion whined sadly at him. The red stripes on the young man's face were tear-streaked as he shook his head at the pup.

Akamaru nodded in his own doggy way, and went to sit with his best friend's kin. Tsume and Hana both looked at Akamaru, their faces solemn as Kiba's best friend related to them what had happened.

"Poor kid," said Kiba's mother, un-gruffly for a change. Hana nodded in agreement, then went upstairs to comfort her younger brother.

"Kiba? Kiba, come here!"

Shino slammed the door shut, the noise echoing in the normally-silent Aburame household. His father looked up, pushing his sunglasses closer towards his eyes as he watched his son look at him, then run out into the training area and begin to take out his anger and hurt on an old pine tree.

Aburame Shibi shook his head slowly, and walked towards his son, his own bugs meeting with some of Shino's, and informing him on what had happened.

Shibi smiled sadly.

"Shino," he said.
