Hinata was sitting in her rocking chair, reading a book on genjutsu, dozing off every now and then, when a cold, cold, hand pressed against her neck, and a rough voice said, sardonic and grimly pleased with itself,
"Boo."
"…Hello, Naruto-kun. How was your day?"
"Ehhh!" the blond exclaimed, stepping into view, a hand scratching the back of his head in that ubiquitous gesture of his. "How'd ya know it was me, Hinata-chan?"
The indigo-haired woman smiled up at her husband.
"You smell like ramen. Lots of it." Her warm stare turned slightly chiding. "You're going to spoil your dinner, you know."
"Oh, don't worry," the Rokudaime grinned, patting his stomach as he swooped down to give his wife a peck on the cheek. "I've got enough room to tuck away whatever delicious meal you cooked up for me." He winked at her rakishly, and Hinata marvelled at the fact that even after so many years, he could still make her blush.
"But how come my scaring tactics didn't work, man?" he pondered, taking a seat next to hers. "I stuck my hand in a bag of ice for fifteen minutes for it to turn that cold, and I've been practicing that voice since I left work." His moue was forming that pout that exasperated her a little, but never failed to capitalise the blond's overall cuteness. Her laugh tinkled in the air like chimes.
"You're too cute to be scary, Naruto-kun."
A/N: Muah. Cuteness.
