Yes, I'm alive! Hurrah! I'll update the typewriter story in a day or two, but I've been looking EVERYWHERE for the lyrics to this song since it seemed so perfect for a songfic. Heck, I had to record the movie to get it.

Lots of people would think that life is just like a storybook. Happy endings at all cliffhangers, fancy parties wherever you go and all the friends you could ask for.

Me? I guess you could say all of those go out the window, along with everything else that exists.

It's not exactly a fairy tale, more like one of those carnival rides where you throw a ball at some random object and win a prize. Except there is no ball, or any prize.

I can remember that time when all my friends had something we had to do. Aelita and Jeremie were planning to go see a movie that night, Odd got detention- again- and had to sweep the grounds.

Ulrich and I didn't have anything to do, so we just went for a walk around town. Just like we always do when the others were off doing their own thing.

Not long after we set out, it started to rain. Neither of us had suitable clothes for the weather, nor any umbrellas.

So we did what any person would do. Run around like idiots until we found shelter.

Ironically enough, we found an old bus shelter to hide in.

We were both shivering like a cornered mouse with a lion in the room. It was actually quite funny, since the way Ulrich's teeth were chattering made us laugh so hard.

He gave a huge shudder. 'Ugh! Usually I like the rain, but-'

'Just not this heavy?'

'Yeah!'

Heh, he always knew how to make me laugh. Even if he didn't mean it. Which covered most of the times it happened.

Y'know, it's always weird when you laugh at your crush for usually no reason. Even weirder when they laugh back.

We sat down on a dry patch of ground and just talked, since it was too wet to see where we were going.

It rained for hours.

'So cold…' Ulrich murmured over the pattering raindrops, before shivering a little.

Then, I don't know what made me do it, I just scooted closer to him.

He was always so cute when he blushed.

'What are you-'

'Well, you said you were cold.'

Then he smiled. I felt like melting, even in the cold.

'Thanks.'

I buried my face in his neck. 'You don't have to worry about it. I'll always be there for you.'

It was only a few minutes, but it seemed like forever until the rain finally stopped. I stood up and then helped Ulrich to stand up too.

'See you tomorrow?'

'I guess so. See you.'

Then we went our separate ways.

But 'til then I'll miss you

How I loved that moment so much. It would have been great to have seen him again the next day.

Ulrich Stern has been missing for 3 months, and no sign as to where he went.
