Epilogue
Mirage gazed out of the large window looking out at the gardens that stretched out before her, bathed in the light of the warm afternoon sun, a content smile on her lips.
Almost two years and had passed since that fateful journey on the Canis Shuttle where she and Fayt first became a couple, a year and six months since they first settled down of Elicoor and just over a year since finding Nel lying outside their home in Arias which had led to the night where all three of them had shared a night of passion together. And in that time much had changed.
Turning her head to the side she was met by the sight of a crib in which the form of a small sleeping girl could be seen, the child having been given the name Rena. One of the most important change in her life up to this point was the birth of her children, a boy and a girl.
Making sure that her daughter was sound asleep Mirage slipped out of the room, passing by one of the houses maid staff in the halls the Klausian asking her to watch her sleeping daughter, as she made her way towards the manor's study.
Entering the room Mirage was greeted by the sight of Nel slumped in a chair, her head lolled to the side snoring softly, the sleeping form of a small child held in her arms, a gold ring visible on one of her fingers, identical to the band Mirage sported on one of her own fingers.
The second major change in Mirage's life had been her marriage to both Fayt and Nel. It had been Nel's idea for Fayt and Mirage to marry into the Zelpher family. The blond Klausian hadn't been sold on the idea at first, however Nel had been able to convince her.
Being one of the noble families of Aquaria the Zelphers had access to many privileges bestowed on them by the kingdoms Royalty that including a fully staffed manor house in the Royal City. As much as they'd become attached to their home in Arias Fayt and Mirage had both reluctantly come to the realization that it wasn't going to able to support them for much longer, not with their small family about to get larger. That and with the resources the Zelphers had access to they wouldn't have to worry about not being able to take care of their children.
Plus another benefit to doing this is that it would getting Lasselle off their case.
Even so Mirage had expected some push back, Aquaria as a whole was a very traditional society, not one that you'd think would be open to the idea of polygamy. Fayt being married to two women definitely went against the social norm.
The war that had been Airglyph and Aquaria had resulted in a high number of casualties on both sides, many of whom had been young men, several generations of men wiped out leaving behind broken families and a lot women who would never find a partner and start families of their own.
It just went to so how desperate Aquaria was to rebuild its population that it would allow such unions to occur, even though it seemed to be allowed primarily among the noble families as a means to keep their bloodlines from dying out.
Approaching the sleeping Zelpher Mirage couldn't help but notice the content look on Nel's face as she held the sleeping form of her son. Had it not been for the bulky robes the red haired mistress of the houses was wearing the bulge in her stomach that was beginning to form would be quite visible.
With Nel's current condition her fellow Crimson Blade member and childhood friend Clair had been tasked to take on several of the red head's duties, being who he was and not wanting the silver haired maiden to shoulder all that responsibility by herself Fayt had volunteered to help her out. Something that Mirage was less than thrilled about.
She liked Clair well enough despite not having formed the same kind of bond with her that Fayt and Nel clearly had, and she knew Fayt well enough to know that wouldn't hesitate to help anyone that needed it, something that both endearing and frustrating about him, however the close proximity that the two currently shared was something she took issue with.
Not helped by the less than subtle crush Clair had developed on her husband that he was somehow utterly oblivious to.
Forgetting about Fayt and his ability to surround himself with attractive members of the opposite sex for the moment Mirage placed her hands on the child's waist and tried to remove her son from Nel's grip as gently as she could.
"Come on little one." She whispered as she tried to pick him up. Despite still sleeping Nel's features shifted into a frown, her grip on the sleeping boy tightening and refused to give him up.
Mirage sighed and shook her head. "Come on aunty Nel," She whispered into the red heads ear. "Time to give Robert back to mommy."
Nel let out a groan as she was roused from her sleep. "Oh Mirage…" She half mumbled as she let go and allowed the blond mother to take her child into her arms. "I'm sorry, I was trying to get little Robert to take a nap. I fell asleep with him in my arms."
Mirage chuckled as she gently bounced her son in her arms. "Don't worry about it." She assured her wife. "I used to nap a lot too when I was pregnant with this little one and his sister."
"When you weren't eating that is." Nel replied, offering the blond a sly grin a she shifted herself in her chair.
Mirage's eyes narrowed and she shot Nel a stern look. "Your one to talk," She replied. "And don't think I've not noticed you eating a little more as of late."
Nel shot a stern look at Mirage, despite this a small blush spread across her cheeks. The sight of this made Mirage chuckle as her son began to stir, letting out a soft groan as his blue eyes opened meeting hers.
Knowing what he wanted Mirage managed to partially unzip the shirt she was wearing and revealed one of her engorged breasts. With little prompting the infant leaned in and took her nipple into his mouth, helping himself to his mother's milk.
"Mirage," Nel said as she watched as Mirage fed her son. "You…you are ok with this aren't you?"
"I can't deny that I don't find this whole thing a little weird." "Never did I ever think that if I got married that I'd have to share my husband with another woman. Then again joining your family hasn't had its advantages. And knowing that Fayt and I don't have to worry about our kids futures is a major plus. Sides I guess sharing him with you isn't exactly the worst."
"Ummm, thanks. I think." Nel replied. "I…I do know what you mean though. Before I met you and Fayt I never had any romantic relationship, never even entertained the idea of surviving long enough to have any let alone ever get married and having children."
Her gaze then shifted downwards to her small bulge, a look of concern on her face as she rubbed a hand across it. "I…I don't know if I'm cut out for this Mirage." She said. "I'm a Crimson Blade, I hunt out and eliminate threats to her majesty. I don't know the first thing about raising children."
Seeing the expression on the red haired woman's face Mirage walked over and pulled up a chair. "I wouldn't worry, let's face it Nel you're a natural mother." She said as she placed Robert against her shoulder and patted his back. "Plus it's not like you're going through it alone. Fayt and I are right here, and we're not going anywhere. So don't go worrying Mrs. Zelpher Liengod."
Hearing this made Nel chuckled. "Good to hear, Mrs. Zelpher Liengod." She replied.
Another long day had come to an end transitioning into night, strolling through the streets of the Royal City a tired Fayt could be found making his way towards the Zelpher estate after spending most of the day helping out Clair with the sizable amount of extra paper work ranging from reports to requests that had to be sorted and approved.
Atop of that Lady Elena had also roped him into to helping her with some new project that she had in the works, resulting in him working much later then he would have liked.
Still he was not one to complain, Lady Elena passion for her work would likely have big impact in shaping Aquarian society in the future and guiding the kingdom to a potential new industrial age in the next few decades.
Before long where the visage of the Zelpher home came into view, the sight of which banished all thoughts of work from his mind and replaced by ones of the women that had taken his name along and his children. Just what he needed after a long day.
Filled with a renewed vigor Fayt quickened his pace and before he knew it he found himself out of the streets and inside the buildings warm interior, one of the house staff greeting him at the door before informing him that both Mirage and Nel and already retired for the evening.
Acknowledging the woman Fayt then made his way upstairs and headed to one of them rooms, opening the door as quietly as he could and slipped inside where he was met by the sight of a pair of cribs, in both of them one of his children, Rena and Robert, sleeping soundly.
A Smile spreading across his lips Fayt crept towards the walked over to where both of them slept, whispering a few words to both of them before wishing them both a goodnight with a kiss on their foreheads and slipping out of the room and closing the door behind him.
Having said goodnight to his children Fayt then turned his attention to a door a little further down the hall, behind which was the master bedroom which his shared with both Mirage and Nel, both of whom he'd had been informed were inside.
"Nel, Mirage. I'm home." He announced, doing his best not to be too loud, as he opened the door, as he did so he was greeted by the sight of both Mirage and Nel lying there on the bed, the two of them wearing similarly styled chemise, Mirage's being dark blue and Nel's being Crimson, that clung to their bodies, both of whom were giving him sultry looks.
"Good evening Fayt." They both greeted him.
"Shame on you Fayt," Nel said, giving him a mock pout. "Keeping two poor, helpless maidens like us waiting like you have."
"Indeed, it's a husband's duty love and honor his wives." Mirage added, her tone playful. "What are you going to do to make it up to us?"
Despite himself Fayt let out a small chuckle, it seemed that one way or another he was in for another long night.
Entered the room and closing the door behind him before making his way towards the bed, pulling his shirt over his head and tossing it aside, to join his wives whom were waited for him eagerly.

AN And with that this story has officially come to a close. This ones pretty short compared to the previous chapter but I think it dose what it needs to do.
As I've said before this was originally written as a one shot back in 2005, I never had any plans to write more for it but over several years it somehow got more chapters added it, something that I doubt anyone, including me, ever expected to happen.
That being said for the most part I'm happy how this turned out. I like to think I've improved as a writer and this story reflects that.
Please let me know what you all thought of both this chapter and the story as a whole. I might write more Star Ocean stories in the future, I'm not sure right now, I do have an idea for a story called called Not So Innocent Rendezvous which is a SFW side story set between chapters 1 and 2. That aside I've also got a whole bunch of other stories you might want to check out.
Till we meet again, peace out y'all.
