Pardon the yaoi. I couldn't help myself. Anyways, this was written as a practice word challenge in the days before nanowrimo began. The word was actually spook, but the general theme was Halloween, so it worked.

Disclaimer: As much as I'd like to own them, Tsubasa cast is not mine.

Kurogane hated Halloween on principle. It just didn't seem like a good idea to dress up like a monster and parade around asking for free food.

"No means no," he said, glaring at the kids in front of him.

"Awww, but Kuro-tan," whined the only kid in the world older than Kurogane himself. "I wanted to dress up like a ballerina! I have a costume and everything."

"But you're not going to," Kurogane said, slamming a fist on the table. "Or I will tie you to the chair to keep you from cross-dressing in public, so-help-me-God."

The kids (the ones younger than him) looked devastated. Sakura, because she had been looking forwards to dressing up, and Syaoran because Sakura was unhappy. Compelled by his little "obey-the-princess'-every-whim" complex, he stepped forwards to protest.

"Kurogane-san," he began, glancing back at Fai and Sakura for support, "I don't think it'd be all that trouble… I mean, we're the right age, and…"

"Do you have costumes?" Kurogane asked pointedly. Syaoran paused, thinking.

"….Our original clothes?"

"And Mokona?"

"Mokona would make a good ghost," the white majuu bun declared, leaping in front of Fai. "BOO!"

"Wai!" Fai wailed, flailing his limbs in melodramatic terror. "Mokona's so spooky!"

Kurogane was not impressed, and certainly not ready to let go. There were too many opportunities for an enemy to poison them with candy, or disguise themselves, or… well, it just wasn't a good idea. He thrust a finger at Fai.

"He's too old."

"You're never too old for free candy," Fai said, taking Kurogane's wrist and drawing him closer. "Besides, we could stay here and hand out candy. Then I wouldn't be crossdressing in public. Just for you," he finished, cooing in Kurogane's ear. Kurogane scowled, struggling to escape his grip.

"If you think I'm letting even the kids go and-"

"And you don't have to trick-or-treat, because we'd be here…"

"But there's too many opportunities to-

"Alone…"

Kurogane opened his mouth to talk, then closed it. Tried again. Huh. He almost tried again, but Fai cut him off with a shrill giggle as he leapt back to the kids, grinning.

"That settles it! You two, go get changed, and take Mokona with you, ok? We'll see you later."

Sakura blinked, startled.

"But Fai-san, don't you want candy too?"

"Oh trust me," he said, sending Kurogane a sly grin. "We'll have plenty."

Oh yes. Pardon the yaoi. But I did Kuro-pon OOC... oh well.
