It wouldn't have been so bad if Rin had caught it first. Rin had more medical training and less testosterone than her teammates. Had Rin been the first to get sick, she would have had the good sense to immediately retreat to her bed until it passed.

Or at least until it passed the infectious stage.

But instead, Obito had caught it first, since a not unexpected casualty of living in the crowded Uchiha complex was near constant exposure to others' germs and viruses. And, because he knew Kakashi would never have let him hear the end of it, Obito had shown up for training. Sparring training.

A day of close physical contact with Obito meant that Kakashi now had it too. And, because Obito would never have let him hear the end of it, Kakashi refused to go home and rest.

Or mention it to his sensei, whom he practiced taijutsu with the next day.

His sensei did have the sense to stay home and rest, but then, he didn't have much of a choice in the matter… it's much worse when you're an adult.

Luckily, Rin could safely nurse both her sensei and her teammates back to health. She'd already had the chicken pox.
