Jhonen read the pink, scented letter for the third time. The shock in his face melted into disgust, and he fought back the urge to empty his stomach of its contents. Roman, who had stopped by to return some miscellaneous CD, glanced at the writing and cracked up.
"It's not that funny," Jhonen protested weakly, still feeling sick.
"You're kidding, right? This is better than the ones with crime-scene photos."
Jhonen sighed and tossed the paper into the garbage. It fluttered to a rest on the remains of an instant ramen container, purple-inked words perfectly legible despite the lipstick stains.

Dear Jhonen C. Vasquez:
Will you marry me?
Sincerely,
Mary-Sue Fann
P.S. I think it's legal in my state to get married at 14 yrs old. I'm legal!
