Somewhere deep in the endless sea of black; a place where the light of the stars planets bubbled out of the depths; where streaking lights of white were only comets, skimming through the sky. Away from the dirt under the burning grass. Away from the mold on the crumbling castle. Away from spells and wars and waiting and fighting and heroes and villains and life and death and everything. Away from everything. A place in deep isolation, a place that only existed from afar.

"Just fly." She said, looking up at the midnight sky. Pansy touched Draco's arm and he inhaled sharply, his eyes grazing her body as he fondled his broom.

"I can take you there." Draco said, smugly, his silver eyes following Pansy's gaze to the heavens. His breath reeked of firewhiskey, but it didn't matter.

"No you can't," she replied simply, "but just fly."

She sat on the back of his broom, digging her fingers into her palms, wrapped around the small wooden handle. The take-off jerk she expected never came; instead, Malfoy kicked off almost gracefully. As she adjusted her hands, moving them to his neck, she felt the broom drop a little. Draco crooked his head, smirking, and added in little more than a whisper, "Don't grip too hard. This robe was expensive." They slowly glided up through the fog and over the lake, gaining height. They flew through layers of damp clouds and up higher and higher. They flew until Draco's fingers were white from gripping the broomstick, and until Pansy's cheeks were stained pink and her teeth began to chatter. They flew until they were away from everything, until the sleeping world below them was no longer visible. They flew until Draco got tired of flying up, and like that, started to descend to the ground. But it didn't matter, because Pansy was ready to come down as well. The world above was just as freezing as the world below.
