MY VALENTINE

DISCLAIMER

Power Rangers belong to Haim Saban, Fox Kids, and Disney, not me. Yes, I know I said I was taking a break, but I've made an exception for Valentine's Day. Takes place after "Thunder Struck Pt 2" and works as if Kimberly and Tommy never broke up. You know me; I'm a hopeless romantic when it comes to those two. The title comes from the Martina McBride song "My Valentine" and the remark about the green candle is a reference to the same-titled two-part episode where Tommy lost his powers (boo).

Tommy Oliver hurriedly put the finishing touches on the decorations in his living room. Kimberly was going to be here soon and he wanted everything to be perfect. And it would be now that Mesogog had been defeated once and for all, meaning that there was no chance of his communicator going off in the middle of their date. Just then, the doorbell rang. The man jumped.

"Chill out, Tommy," he told himself. He opened the door and suddenly, it was like someone had dumped a ton of clay in his throat. There, in all of her spectacular beauty, stood his girlfriend Kimberly Hart. She was wearing one of his favorite outfits: a pink t-shirt with pale blue jeans, white socks, and rustic red boots.

"Hey, Handsome," Kimberly chirped. She took in what he was wearing: the white and green flannel that she loved so much, black jeans, and red shoes. For a moment, they reveled in each other. Then, Tommy cleared his throat.

"Uh, come in," he invited, moving aside.

"Oh. Wow," she breathed, stepping into the abode. Green, white, red, black, pink streamers and balloons hung from the ceiling.

"So, what do you think?" he wondered.

"Morphinominal," Kimberly told him. He laughed.

"Good," Tommy said. He took her hand and led her to the dining room. She gasped when she saw the layout. The lights had been dimmed and there were two candles sitting beside each other on the table. One candle was pink, the other was white.

"I see you still have aversion to the color green when it comes to candles," she commented.

"Can you blame me?" he questioned.

"Not at all," was her answer. He took her hand and pulled her close and gave her a soft kiss, which she returned. She sniffed the air and pulled away.

"Do I smell cookies?" she asked.

"Yes you do," he told her.

"Are they done?" was her next question. He laughed. Then, he went into the kitchen where he pulled the cookie tin out of the oven. Tommy set down the tray and Kimberly could see that he decorated the treats with green, pink, white, red, and black frosting. The two sat down. They leaned in and kissed briefly.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Beautiful," Tommy said.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Handsome," Kimberly replied. Then, they turned to the tray and began to eat.

AUTHOR'S NOTE

Okay, so cookies aren't exactly the best thing for a romantic evening, but who cares? Just as long as people enjoy the story.
