"You Can't Hold Me Down"

Why do you say I'll never make it,

when you never even gave me a chance.

You always say I won't succeed,

and you don't even give me a second glance.

You judge me by how I act and how I dress,

yet you don't know what's on the inside.

Well I'm here to let you know,

I'm about to change the tide.

I'm tired of you always demeaning me,

because you don't think that I'm strong.

Overconfidence is your greatest enemy,

and I'm about to prove you wrong.

So go ahead and say all you want,

my actions will speak for me.

Your words no longer hurt,

The wind has blown them out to sea.

I know it won't happen overnight,

and I don't care how long it'll take.

I'm going to shut you up for good,

And expose you as the real fake.

You still think your words hurt me,

but they really give me power.

Your grip is slowly slipping away,

this is finally your last hour.

Now it's finally over,

I've done what needs to be done.

All you can do is stand and watch,

because we both know that I'm the one.

I look at your face now,

and all I see is a frown.

Because finally you know,

that you can't hold me down.
