"I can't believe that they left me behind again!" The pretty redheaded girl kicked a rock into the forest. She supposed she should be used to it, any sign of trouble and her brother was off with Harry and Hermione. Even after everything that she, Neville and Luna had done last year, they'd never think to ask her. She kicked another rock, heading deeper into the forest. She didn't care if it was forbidden.

"Well, well, if it isn't the littlest Weasley all by herself as always." A boy with silver hair emerged from the forest, smiling devilishly at her.

"Go away Malfoy." She scowled, pushing back him to go further into the forest. He grabbed her by the arm and pulled her back to him. Ow she winced.

"What's a pretty little weasel like you doing heading into the deep dark forest without her friends."

"Why's a stupid little git like yourself care?" She managed to pull away and stalk off.

His eyes flashed with anger, "what did you just call me weasel?"

"My name," she turned back to glare at him, "is Ginevra. Not weasel. Ginevra."

"Did your parents lose a bet?" He chuckled.

"Did yours?"

"My name happens to be a family tradition."

"Oh, like being a git then." She was smirking now.

He grabbed her by the arm again. "Don't you ever call me that."

"Or you'll what?" Tears were stinging her eyes from the pain, but she didn't show fear. Being raised with six older brothers, she'd learned to never let her weaknesses show.

He threw her to the ground. "You don't want to know."

Ginny stared up at him, feeling helpless and hating it. Her eyes narrowed, she grabbed a nearby rock and threw it at his head. Malfoy was down almost instantly.

"Little bitch!" He cried.

She stood, twigs and leafs in her bright red hair. Ginny looked down at him and smiled, then sighed to herself. She walked over to him, holding out a hand to help him up. Draco glared. "You must think I'm thick."

"I'm just doing the right thing here Malfoy." Her hand remained outstretched, her eyes were surprisingly sincere.

He accepted her hand, then with his trademark grin, pulled her to the ground with him.

"Git!" She exclaimed, kicking him.

"Like you weren't about to do the same." He was laughing though.

"No! I was going to help you up! And apologize for throwing a rock at your head. Now I think I should have thrown it harder."

He looked over at her and spoke conversationally. "You're rather pretty when you're indignant."

"Well, you're rather stupid always!"

He laughed. "That's a good one Ginevra."

"Don't call me that!"

"You told me to call you that."

"I changed my mind!"

He laughed again. "Just like a woman."

"Why you..." She sat up, preparing to slap him.

He grabbed her by the arm again. Not quite as hard as before. Somewhere in the back of her mind, Ginny knew the bruise would be there for weeks.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you Ginevra." They looked into one another's eyes silently for a full minute before she jumped up, running off.

Later that day, Ginny was walking through the corridors with Luna, laughing about something silly a classmate of theirs had done in class the day before. Ginny stopped though, noticing Draco Malfoy and his goons walking toward them. She and Draco looked at one another, completely unaware of anything going on around them. Luna was still laughing, the goons were still attempting to talk to him, but all Ginny and Draco saw were each other.

Then Ginny found herself on the floor. Draco and the goons laughed before walking away. Luna quickly helped her up. "That git Malfoy tripped you." She told Ginny. Ginny's eyes flashed with anger.

"Oh I hate him," Ginny exclaimed, "more than ever, I hate him."
