"Morning, Harry. You... all right?"

The there was a strange tone to Ron's voice and his eyebrows were raised.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Really good, actually, for once. Why?"

Ron shrugged and gave Harry another doubtful look before returning his attention to his breakfast. Harry, who had only just sat down at the Gryffindor table grabbed some toast and prepared to do the same. Looking to the side, though, he noticed that Hermione, who was sitting on Ron's other side, was watching him with an odd expression on her face as well. When she noticed him looking back at her, she too turned quickly back to her breakfast.

Come to think of it, there had been some looks of the same kind from his fellow students as he had come down to breakfast as well this morning, and if he looked around, there were a few more.

Not the kind of looks he was used to; suspicious do-you-think-he's-mad?-ones – those had pretty much died down since the Ministry had admitted Voldemort was back - or the oooh-he's-famous-ones – those he usually only got after from people who were seeing him for the first time, or Colin and Dennis Creevey. These were a different kind. Short, thoughtful looks and slightly surprised raised eyebrows before returning to whatever the watcher had been doing before, and nothing more. Harry wondered vaguely what was going on here, but decided he would probably find out if it was something important. He usually did.

So he took a bite of his toast, and smiled at Luna Lovegood as she entered the Great Hall. Her eyebrows shot up as she noticed him, and she immediately made her way towards the Gryffindor table.

"You shouldn't do that, you know, Harry. People might think you're going mad," she told him reproachingly as she stopped in front of him. Before Harry could answer, she had turned around and was making her way to the Ravenclaw table.

Harry turned to Ron and Hermione, confused.

"What was that about?"

Ron looked up from his food, and pointed at Harry's ear. "That, maybe?"

Harry raised his hand to the side of his head, and found he had his wand tucked behind his ear. He took it and stared at it in surprise.

"I didn't even realise I'd put it there---" he began, but trailed off as he looked over to the Ravenclaw table where Luna had now found a seat. She was watching, obviously amused at his apparent confusion. Harry looked back at her thoughtfully for a while, and then resolutely put the wand back behind his ear and returned to eating his breakfast, ignoring both Ron's amused grin and the exasperated way that Hermione was rolling her eyes.
