Chapter Nineteen

Serenity's head feels heavy. Her whole body aches. Voices, she can hear voices.

"Will she be okay?"

"Her energy is low." Smoke filled the room as the voices continued to echo in her ears, "Oh Serenity." She knew what was happening.

She was dying.

Groggily a voice answered, "Hello."

"…"

"Hello?" There was a pause and a shuffle, "Darien?"

"Yea."

"Why are you calling me?"

"Can we meet?"

"Anything Darien."

After he said his location, he sat back and watched people pass by. Serenity…where have I heard that before? He took out his phone and searched Serenity.

No Match says his phone. Who is she and why are memories of her suddenly flash in his mind. Suddenly a shadow stood over him. Darien looked up and the corner of his mouth twitched. He stood up, "Stephan."

Stephan softened, "Darien." There was a silent compromise between the brothers. Stephan somehow knew Darien had changed when he got a call an hour ago, something bigger than what happened years ago. He wanted to hug his little brother, the brother he missed , the brother he wanted back for so long, is back.

He heard Darien snicker, "Remember when you took me on my first ski lesson?" Stephan snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Darien.

"I don't know how many times you feel but you never gave up." Stephan chuckled, "You ass was sore for a week, you couldn't even take a dump."

Darien joined him, "It was tender."

They went into a little café, all the ladies turned their heads. But the brothers were oblivious. The hostess led them to their booth and hand them menus. Stephan ordered two black coffees.

There was a comfortable silence between two brothers, "Should we call Raye?"

"Nah, she can find out later," Stephan leaned back, "She can hold off one more day." The coffees came and the brothers ordered.

He can see Darien deep in thought, something was definitely bothering him, "What's on your mind?"

The door chimed and a woman's laugh was heard. Darien snapped his head toward the sound, shook his head and then sunk back down in his seat. It happened a few more times before Stephan asked, "Who is she?"

"I don't know," Darien muttered. "Recently I had been getting these scenes in my head. Serenity is her name." Their food came, he continued, "It would seem like I had a relationship with this woman and …" he paused.

He looked up at Stephan, "How does it feel to be with Prudence?" He leaned forward, "Does it feel like…" there was a strong emotion flashed on his face, "…rose petals falling on your face?" He shook his head.

Stephan suddenly became worried, "Darien, what's wrong?"

Darien held his head on his hands, "Bubbles."

Stephan stood up, "Darien let's go." He threw some cash on the table and dragged his brother out of the café. They drove home. Stephan is getting worried more and more, "Darien what's happening to you?"

Serenity woke up screaming, "Darien!"

Luna ran toward her, "Serenity, what's wrong?"

"Something is happening to Darien. I can feel it." Frantic, they rushed to Marius, "I need to see him." Marius stared at his niece, "No."

"Please Uncle, this is unfair. Your spell didn't work on him. He's not in his right mind. Please!" Serenity begged. "Just let me see him."

"My spell? Serenity, it wasn't my spell. It was yours." He said calmly.

Serenity snapped her head toward her Uncle, "What? What are you talking about?" She sunk down on the floor, "You did the spell."

Marius walked to his niece, torn and distraught, "You asked me to make him forget. You wanted him to forget because he is hurting."

"I…I…I don't understand."

"Serenity, the spell was still under your hands," Marius said. "Come child, follow me."

"I had been watching Darien for a few days now. There had been some changes in him that I never thought it would happen. Once he had started to learn how to forgive, memories of you started to invade his mind."

"Is that why I started to feel stronger in these past few days?"

"Yes," He faced his niece, cupped her face and kissed her forehead, "You know what to do."

"Darien!" Stephan shook his brother, "What's going on?" His brother is lying still in front of him.

"He is getting his memories back."

Stephan whirled around, "Who are you?" Stephan gazed his eyes on a petite beautiful blonde, "Serenity."

Serenity ran to Darien. She cradled Darien's head on her lap, "Darien." She choked, "Please, come back to me." Please…please…Darien, She chanted in her head. "I love you," She whispered. She suddenly felt a hand on her cheek and a hoarse whisper, "Serenity." Darien tried to slowly get up but groaned when his head suddenly spun.

"Darien! Oh my Darien!" Serenity held Darien with all her might. "Serenity, my head hurts. Please don't hold me too hard." Serenity quickly recovered from her surprise, "Oh Darien I'm so sorry." She slowly helped him sit up. Darien stared at the woman who had finally stolen his head and him willing to admit. "Serenity, I…I…" A pair of lips landed on his.

A simple kiss that made him feel whole.

Complete.

Home.

"I love you too Darien."
