I do not own any of these characters.
This is my first X-MEN story so be gentle. I know Logan is OOC, but I was in a sappy mood.
Logan paced the room restlessly. He had never been nerveous like this before. He had never thought about something so serious before.
Everyone thought Logan was cold and all macho-man, but not really; he'd only let two person see that soft side of him. The side that made him seem even more scray, because a sweet, compassionate Logan was disturbing. He sat on his bed slowly turning the small velvet box over and over again in his hands. One hand said 'No, I'm not going to do this increduable stupid thing.' On the other hand, 'Yes, this is want I want; damn everything else to hell.' Over and over again he turned the box waiting for the object of his turmoil.
"Logan?" The bedroom door open, Scott stepped into the room bringing with him a wave of apprehension. "You wanted to see me?"
"Yeah, I..." Logan stopped, he was captured by the emotions flowing off his lover. He went to him quickly; needing to reassure the younger man. Wrapping his arms around his slender form he started again. "I wanted to talk to ya about something. I, well..." Logan stopped again this was difficult.
"I understand." Scott went to pull from Logan's arms, but found that he could not.
"No," Logan almost growled, he would not have Scott think that this was him leaving him like everyone else, like Jean.
"What?" The scent of Scott's confusion filled the room.
"No, this isn't me leavin' ya." He pulled Scott tighter to him. "I have somethin' to say; it's just difficult to put in words."
Scott smiled, he had been so sure that Logan was breaking off this thing that they had. Logan had been distant lately, and the only way that Scott's mind would except it was that he was tired of this. That he needed to roam, be free again. He was so happy that Logan was not leaving him that he missed the last words that Logan had said.
"What?" He pulled back to look at his lover.
Mistaking his lack of paying attention for rejection Logan pulled away completely. "It's alright Slim. I understand, this is too much I know. I just really care for ya an' I want to be with ya for a long time an'..." Whatever else Logan had to say was swallowed in a kiss. Over the last few months of their relationship Scott had found out that the only way to silence the Wolverine was to cover his mouth... or fill it up.
"I didn't hear what you said... I was too happy about being wrong." Scott looked Logan in the eye.
"Can I get that in writing? Fearless Leader Cyclops said he was wrong." Logan was grinning.
"What did you say?" Scott asked again, placing a small kiss to the corner of Logan's mouth.
"Well ya see, the last thing I said is 'I don't think I have the balls to say that again.'" Logan looked down, the ring box was secured tightly in his hand. Dropping down to one knee Scott stared down at him in confusion. "What?" "Shh, I got somethin' to say. I got those mushy feelin's for ya and if ya say yes... I want to be with ya for the rest of our lives and I love ya." Logan looked up at Scott, he screamed of nerveous enegry.
"I..." Scott broke out into a grin.
Logan stood, "I take that as a yes?" He was still nerveous but Scott's reaction had helped sooth most of that.
"Yes." They sealed the deal with a seering kiss. All the telepaths and empaths in the school felt the love and happiness radiating like heat from the room. Charles smiled secretly in his office; a weight had been lifted knowing that his son was happy and safe.
