Author's Note: Here's another poem I thought I'd post. Of course it's by
Tifa but it deals with herself, more than anyone else. Enjoy!
There's more to me than what you see
Behind the smile
The laughter
The shine
Beyond the hair
And makeup
And dress
Lies an unhappy heart
Waiting to die
Daddy's little girl died last night
Drowned in a pool of sorrow
The signs ignored
The pain forgotten
There's more to me than what you see
Behind the jokes
The beauty
The happiness
Beyond the money
And luck
And popularity
Lies an empty soul
In need of love
She's afraid to speak
Afraid to cry
Afraid to love
She is hurt
People aren't two-dimensional
Not the playboy
Who died of a broken heart
Not the millionaire
Who couldn't buy friendship
Sometimes we need to make time
For those of us who are in the corner
Never speaking
Never smiling
Sometimes we need to show our appreciation
Or disguise our falsities
Never lie
Never hide
Never abandon
Forget
Or deny
Never hurt
Accuse
Or lie
One solemn child,
One broken heart
Yearns for love,
Attention
Crying out
Wishing
Hoping for someone to pay them some mind
He has gone
She has gone
They have gone
And I am alone
