The clinking of glasses and drunken voices filled the dank pub. Sitting in the back of the pub in the most unlit booth was a young woman. She had a hood pulled up around her face and only spoke when she ordered a drink.

Strange people like her were always passing through Hogs Head, so no one paid much attention. No one even paid attention when a man walked in and headed straight for her table without batting an eyelash.

He sat down opposite of her and pulled down his hood. "Bella," he said curtly. "What are you doing here? What am I doing here?"

"You are here because I asked you to come. I'm here to see you." She lowered her hood. "Severus, I asked you to meet me here to find out the truth." Her voice faltered, but she didn't show any emotion. "I need to know the truth."

Severus sat there not saying a word. He knew Bella deserved the truth, but it hurt him too much to say it. She sat there tapping her fingers noiselessly on the table. Not wanting to pressure him, she took out a small bar of krispy chocolate and unwrapped it. She took a bite and offered the rest to Snape, knowing it was his favorite.

"Oh Bella." He got up and sat down next to her. Wrapping him arms around Bella, he kissed her tenderly. "We can't do this. What you probably heard was true."

"You? You can't be a spy. Out of all the time we spent together I would have known. Figured it out somehow."

"No you wouldn't have," said Snape. "It wasn't visible to you because we were too deep in love. Bella, you work for Voldemort. You're loyal to him. I'm really loyal to Dumbeldore. It won't work. It could never work."

"Yes it can. I want to be loyal to you. Only you."

Her eyes shone with compassion and love, but Snape wouldn't look at her. He let her go and turned away. "Don't do this. You and I couldn't be together. I've been found out. I'm returning to Dumbeldore tonight."

"I'll come with you. We can leave together." Bella put her arms around Snape's shoulders and pressed up against him. He tensed and shook her off.

Standing up, he tried not to let emotions show in his voice. "No we can't. Find yourself a good man Bella. One who's actually fighting on the same side as you. Rudolphus loves you. He always has Bella, and he'll treat you good."

"Rudolphus?" Bella sneered. "So after everything, you're just going to give me away like this?"

"Yes Bella. Just go." He stood there until he heard the familiar pop sound of her disapparating. Snape turned back to the table and sat down wearily. The only thing left behind was a scribbled on napkin. He picked it up and read the message Bella left for him.

Dear Snape, This will probably be the last letter I ever write to you. So I'll make it to the point. I love you. Nothing can make me change the way I feel. You probably think my feelings are false just because I'm a Death Eater and loyal to Voldemort. I know I can do nothing to make you truly love me. So I just wanted to let you know how I really feel about you.

Love, Bellatrix Black

Snape read the note over once more. A tear slipped down his cheek, landing on the napkin. He folded it up and stuck it in his cloak before leaving the pub.

Somewhere at Voldemort's hideout, Bella found Rudolphus Lestrange. He was obviously drunk from too much celebrating.

"Bella," he slurred. "How nice to see you."

"Yes, very nice." She said hurriedly. "Rudolphus, I've been thinking. I'm in love with you," she lied.

Rudolphus looked into her seemingly truthful face "Bella, marry me," he said wrapping his arms around her and kissing her neck.

"Yes," she whispered, tears filling up her eyes.
