I hope you derive pleasure from reading yet another depressing one shot from the sequel of Cowboy Bebop.*.*

"Julia."

She heard the name like a soft murmur on a foggy evening on Mars. She saw him walking down the street, just walking his goofy walk. His hair bouncing with his every movement She felt the tears well up in her eyes. "Spike-" She cried, choking at the end of his name. Tears streamed down her face as she ran at him.

He smiled at her. "Hey, Faye. What are you doing out here on Mars?" He cocked his head back and stared intently at the clouds.

"Spike, I thought you were…you were…dead." She choked back a sob and flung herself into his arms. He held her there for a second, then slowly pulled away. His hands dropped to his sides. "Dead?" His eyes met hers, and he shook his head. "Where'd you get that crazy idea?"

She couldn't stop the tears from rolling down her cheeks. "You…you. I saw you after the fight with Vicious. You were dead. I –I can't believe it."

He shook his head again and wiped the tears off of her face. "I've died once before, no need to die again-"

He was interrupted by a hollow voice that emanated from behind Faye. "Spike…" His gaze locked with a pair of intense blue eyes. "Julia," he answered quietly, instantly forgetting the violet-haired woman. The blonde ran into his arms as Faye stood by and watched. "Spike, I can't believe it's really you," she sighed, keeping her eyes on his face. "Let's go somewhere, Spike," she murmured against his chest. "Somewhere where we can be happy forever."

Faye was about to turn around and leave them alone when a faint bullet sound was heard and Julia collapsed into Spike's arms. "Julia," he whispered, laying her to rest on the concrete. His hands were covered in blood. He muttered something into her ear before getting up to face his enemy.

Vicious was standing a few feet away, the smoking pistol still aimed steadily ahead. He looked at Spike with eyes that made Faye freeze in place, but Spike lunged forward furiously. Another shot was heard and Spike fell to the floor.

"No!" Faye screamed, dashing to the spot where Spike was lying in a pool of blood. She held him against her chest and let out a heart-piercing cry. When she pulled her hands back, they were crimson. Only one desperate thought was running through her shattered mind. "I don't want to lose him again, no, not again…."

Her eyes snapped open, and she bolted upright.

Her pillow was soaking wet with tears. In the darkness of the ship, she heard someone complaining from the dim living area of the Bebop. It was Jet.

"No...stop, Spike. Damn it, Spike…if only you were still here…." He mumbled, still in his dream, and Faye sank down once more in tears. She shut her eyes and the images of Spike dispersed as she entered a dreamless sleep, one that she wished would last forever.
