This was it. The final showdown. Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort both knew that this battle would end all battles. It would decide the fate of both wizard and muggle worlds.

The setting? The Ministry of Magic, Department of Mysteries.

Voldemort took an opportunity to lean, panting, against the wall. That darn Potter was good. Both were bruised and bloody, but Harry was hanging on. He even might have more strength than Voldemort himself... but he didn't want to think about that.

He flicked his now-broken wand at Potter, and an explosion shook the building. He was running out of energy. Blood trickled from a gash on his head. Curse this mortal body! Who's idea was it to get a mortal body, anyhow? Curse that Wormtail!

Potter, of course, dodged the blast. He was approaching Voldemort now. The scar Voldemort himself had given him glowed brightly, almost as much as his green eyes, furious with anger.

"You've done so much evil," Potter said dramatically. "Prepare to meet the death you fear so much."

Voldemort struggled to stand on his own. "Never, Potter!"

Potter raised his wand.

Voldemort thought fast. There had to be something he could do. His memory swam... rumors of a door, a room hiding something of great power, something they said the Dark Lord could never posess... Well, they were wrong.

Potter might be able to reveal it. Voldemort stared deep into those green eyes... Curse the boy's occulamancy training! But Potter did seem to be thinking of something . . .

"Where is the room, Potter?" he snarled. "This room of great power?"

"Love?" Potter laughed bitterly. "You have no power over that, and that is what the room contains!"

"Give it to me! They underestimate my power! Love once saved you, and love will bring you down!"

Potter considered this. "All right, then. We'll see how you manage." Keeping his wand pointed at Voldemort, he walked over to a door and murmured something. The door slowly opened. Potter bowed. "Enter, if you dare."

Voldemort was laughing on the inside. Potter would die! He strutted over through the door and closed it behind him.

Inside, the room was bright; it took several moments for his eyes to adjust. Then he gasped.

It was a happy room, with brightly-colored walls with cute pictures painted on them. There were toys on the floor. Balloons bobbed at the ceiling.

This couldn't be right. He began to get nervous.

And then, something even more terrifying appeared. It was large. It was powerful.

It was purple.

And it sang.

The malevolent voice seemed to fill the room. "I love you, you love me, we're a happy family...."

"NO!!!!!!!" Voldemort spun around and ran to the door. He shouldn't have closed it. Now it was again locked. As it should be. No wonder the Ministry kept it so protected! He clawed at the door, but to no avail.

"NOOO!!!!!!!!!"

The End!
