There have been many heartbreaking things I have seen
And depressing stories of which I have dreamed
But the saddest thing of all to me
Are the unicorns riding the waves of the sea
Their small, cloven hooves longing to touch the sand
Struggling and racing to reach the dry land
Trying to run, to once more be free
And not be small captives of the merciless sea
To save them, the last left her own home
Across deserts and prairies and forests she roamed
She raced across the vast fenceless tracts
Like wild horses with nothing to burden their backs
All to save her siblings from the destroyer, the sea
So they can roam happily, forever free
So every person on earth, woman, man, and child
Shall see the mystic unicorns run free and wild
And depressing stories of which I have dreamed
But the saddest thing of all to me
Are the unicorns riding the waves of the sea
Their small, cloven hooves longing to touch the sand
Struggling and racing to reach the dry land
Trying to run, to once more be free
And not be small captives of the merciless sea
To save them, the last left her own home
Across deserts and prairies and forests she roamed
She raced across the vast fenceless tracts
