Will Turner was questioning his own sanity as he traversed the streets of Tuluga, pack in hand, looking for any sign of his father. According to many of Bootstrap Bill's former shipmates, Will was the spitting image of his father. How hard could it be to find the man?

Hard, as Will was beginning to notice.

"Are you sure you've never heard of Bill Turner?" he inquired yet again. The woman he asked was looking quite annoyed with him.

"No, I haven't." she answered through gritted teeth, trying to shove past the young blacksmith.

"Wait!" he insisted. "He might be known as Bootstrap Bill." he tried to add, but the girl shook him off and stormed away. Will sighed. At this rate, he'd never find his father.

Exasperated, he trudged into the closest tavern he came to, ordering a beer. The man behind the bar turned and offered him a sly smile.

"What's a fine man like you doing in a tavern like this?" he asked, placing a hand on Will's. The bar man scratched at his beard for a moment, waiting for Will to reply.

Will swallowed hard before quietly squeaking at the burly bar man: "I'm not...that kind of man.."

The bars man stared back in surprise and suddenly it came to Will that the bars man was actually a bars woman. He chuckled nervously before finishing his beer and retreating to a back table.

He slid into a chair and took a deep breath, depositing his back next to his chair with a small thump and waiting for one of the serving girls to notice him. He closed his eyes and massaged his temples, wishing the dull ache in his neck and head to go away. This was already the longest day of his life, he decided.

"Greetings to ye, young lad." a voice broke into the silence. Will cautiously opened his eyes and spied a man not five years older than him sliding into one of the other seats at his table. Will took a careful breath and leaned forward a bit.

"Greetings." he began before deciding to inquire to the man's business. "What is your business with me?" he asked with a bit of a sigh, somehow knowing that the fates were not going to allow him to rest even for five minutes.

Perhaps the one thing that Will had not expected was for the newcomer to slide his hand over onto Will's knee. He grew pale and tried to slide back farther in his seat.

"The bars woman told me that you were new here." he said huskily, sliding his hand further up Will's leg. "Allow me to....show you around..."

His hand came frighteningly close to Will's unaroused member. Will tried hard to not squeak as the obviously gay man circled his fingers around Will's "self".

"Sir, I don't think this is the place or time-" was the last thing he said before the man brought his other hand to Will's manhood.

"This is Tuluga. It's always the time here." the man whispered as he drew closer. Will's horrified expression must not have been enough to prove that he was terrified.

"Excuse me, Argo, your services aren't needed here." a new voice interrupted. Will was ready to cry until he glanced up. Argo looked up as well.

"Ah, but Jack. Why not?" Argo pouted, removing one hand, but leaving the other firmly in place. Jack smirked slightly and took the chair on the other side of Will.

"We've got other plans, savvy?" Jack said with a look that could say many things, depending on how you wanted to take that statement. Argo pouted and leaned over the table.

"Can I come, too?" Argo pleaded. Jack laughed slightly and Will was sure he was many shades of red by this time.

"I dun think so, Argo me boy." Jack insisted, grabbing Will's elbow and wrenching the blacksmith to his feet. Will looked thankfully at Jack as the pirate rescued him and led him from the tavern completely.

The two left abruptly and headed to a small Inn not far from the tavern. Will observed the townsfolk cautiously, trying not to make eye contact. He feared that one of them might approach him like the man from the tavern had. The last thing he wanted tonight was to be propositioned from a rather burly and stubble bearded tavern woman. He shuddered.

Jack led them into the cozy Inn, paying his two shillings, and sauntered in a way that only Jack could; to their room.

Will stayed behind to stare at the poorly furnished furniture and collection of passed out drunkards snoring lazily away in them. He smirked a bit before joining Jack into their room.

Clearing his throat, Will took a small chair that he doubted would hold his weight and sat on it. "Thank you, Jack. It was lucky you were in port here. What brings you to Tuluga?"

"Business, me dear Will. By the way, have you heard from your father?"

Will stared blankly. "No." He hissed, "I suddenly doubt I have."

"Your smarter than you look boy!" He sauntered over to the window, sitting on the sill. Will hadn't noticed that Jack had deliberately purchased a room with a view of the docks below. Will stood and took in the view as Jack stared at his ship, the Black Pearl.

"So then, Jack, why did you send for me in the guise of my father?" Will growled, suddenly feeling very tired and a bit irritable.

"Well, Will, I was a bit afraid if you though' that it was only me here that you might not come. But I figured that if it was you're father you were looking for, then you'd come right along, savvy?" Jack looked a bit pleased with himself, but Will sighed deeply; begrudged to admit that Jack had a point.

"So there's no chance that I'll meet my father here?" Will asked. Jack slapped Will's shoulder.

"No. Sorry about you're luck. Now, on to why I wrote to you."

Will turned to Jack. "Yes, why did you send for me?"

Jack shifted slightly. "Well, ya see, I've got meself into a wee bit of a fix now. Most of me crew has up and left the Pearl, leavin' me under crewed." he explained. Will looked at Jack carefully.

"Then just hire some new ones." Will said with a bit of a tired tone.

"Thas me problem. No one in Tuluga wan's to be part of me crew, savvy?" Jack said, picking an apple off the table and tossing it from hand to hand. Will took a deep breath.

"And why does no one want to be part of your crew?" he prompted. Jack shrugged.

"I dun know. Somethin' about me being absen'minded or somethin' like tha'." Jack commented, taking a large bite from the apple and glancing at Will. "Thas where you come in, me boy. You're a nice, respectable lad. Folks will listen to you."

"Me?" Will thought for a second. "Wait, listen about what?" He took a step forward.

"Yeah, thas the other thin'." he said, pointing a long finger. "There's rumor in Tuluga that we're goin' after some cursed treasure, which it's not cursed this time!" A wide grin spread across his face. Will knew he was up to something.

"And with what crew are you finding this cursed-"

"Uncursed!"

"Uncursed treasure with?" Will eyed the probably drunk pirate skeptically.

"Well, your pretty popular aroun' here, ma' boy. I'm sure you'll figure somethin' out!"

"So basically, your putting all the hard work on me so you can go out and get drunk? Why should I help you any way?"

Jack opened his mouth to speak but closed it and brought his finger to his forehead to think for a moment. "There's treasure in it for ya'!"

Will glared. "Who said I was coming along, anyway? I still don't take to traveling with pirates these days."

Jack looked hurt. "Oh come on, Will, I though' you were over all that."

Will sighed. "Fine." he grumbled. "I'll find you a crew, Jack. But don't expect much."

Jack smiled in satisfaction before clasping both his hands together. "Good!" He stifled a yawn and headed towards the only small bed in the room. "Well then, you'll be wanting to get right on that, eh? I'm tired, though, and going ta sleep some."

With that Jack was on the bed and cold asleep before Will had a chance to protest. Gritting his teeth, he turned and left the room, suddenly hating pirates more than he ever had.
