Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, had gathered with his Deputy Headmistress, Minerva McGonagall, in the tiny tower room, where an enchanted quill wrote the addresses on the envelopes for the letters that were sent out to the students each summer. The quill had just come to life that morning and always started with the new first years. It wrote the muggle-borns names with blue ink while it wrote the wizarding children's names in green—it was one of the ways Minerva knew which draft of the letter to include, and whether or not the child should get a home visit.

There was hardly anything that could surprise Dumbledore. He had seen the birth of new spells; he had seen two most powerful dark wizards from their rise to their fall; he had seen many other things in life. His fellow wizard and close friend Nicolas Flamel, who was much older than him, didn't see the half of it. But when Dumbledore saw the magical quill write name Naruto Uzumaki "Nathan Potter", he was too shocked to say anything.

"Albus!"

Albus knew Nathan Potter was still alive—at least, all of his spells said so. He had tried to find the boy, but he had always gotten loose ends. It was only two months until the start of what would be his brother Harry Potter's first year at Hogwarts, and his only hope was that the quill could tell him where to find the boy.

"Albus!" Minerva called his name again as the quill began writing Nathan's address.

He could have laughed, he was so filled with relief. If only he could have somehow gotten the quill to cooperate sooner, but the magic that governed was beyond even him. It was ancient and very powerful.

Albus grabbed the envelope and made to leave with it in his hand when Minerva stopped him. She put Nathan's Hogwarts Acceptance Letters into the envelope. She then insisted that he take her along with so she could see for herself just how Nathan Potter had grown up.

oOo…

Naruto took a breath before he gracefully pulled out a six feet long black wooden staff. The staff was carved with silver runes, with a graceful fishing hook on the top end and the bottom twisted, sharpened to a point.

He quickly twirled his staff around and showed a variety of aerial attacks, flipping in mid-air and swinging it about with superior control. It was as if the staff was just an extension of one of his limbs. His shoulder muscles burned with the effort of swinging his staff. Still, he kept practising, pushing himself to exhaustion. He performed swings and slashes against an imaginary opponent. He spent a few hours practising to perfect his skills before stopping.

"Beautiful display, Naruto," Soul clapped his hands. "You are making your old man proud."

Naruto grabbed a hand towel his Darkling brought and began wiping his sweat off. "Humans in your dimension are pretty weak, Soul."

"They are mages, not ninjas. You see magic is much different than chakra. Magic requires a strong mind, not a strong body," Soul explained and tossed a water bottle at Naruto, who had finished drying off his skin.

Naruto caught the bottle and flicked the lid open with his thumb. "Spiritual and physical energies are like Yin and Yang, one is incomplete without the other—As far as I understand, Magic is a form of spiritual energy," he told Soul his own theory before drinking water.

"if you put it that way then yes."

There was a long silence. Naruto was doing some small exercises.

"There is another thing, I think, you should know about," he said, getting the attention of blond. "Your brother got the letter from the Hogwarts."

Naruto stopped and got up on his feet, turning around. "I don't know how to feel all about this," He gave his truthful response. "I never had a brother—or parents in my previous life, In this life, I have a brother...not just a brother but a twin brother. Everything is so confusing to me."

"Well, you have seven years to think about it."

Naruto nodded in understanding the. He extended arm and open palm and his wooden staff came flying towards his hand. As soon as he caught his staff, it shrunk down, turning into a thirteen-inch wand. He gazed at the beautiful wand. It didn't change much, only got shorter. It had retained his black colour and silvery runs, but its hook-like top had become the handle with a twisted, pointed like tip.

Soul smirked. "Do you like your birthday gift? I have made this wand specifically for you."

"I didn't know you have such talent."

"Hey, you are standing in front of the greatest wandmaker."

"Whatever helps you sleep at night," Naruto said, twirling the wand in his fingers.

Soul sighed knowing it would be pointless to argue with him. "Please, get ready. We have guests," he said, suddenly. He moved towards the door before stopping. "I expect an Oscar-like performance from you."

"You don't need to tell me. I was a ninja."

oOo…

"Would you like some tea?" Soul asked, offering tea to Dumbledore and Minerva as two teacups and a kettle floated in front of them.

"Yes, please," Minerva said and the kettle magically poured what looked like rose tea into the cup in front of her. "Thank you."

"Would you care for a lemon drop?" Soul asked Dumbledore. "I heard you like this Muggle sweet."

Dumbledore accepted candies. He checked out the luxurious living room they were in. The room was big and decorated with a victorian style furniture. The curtains in the room perfectly matched the decor. There were beautiful paintings hanging on the walls as the owner of the house was very fond of painting. Dumbledore took a golden watch from his pocket and examined it. It was a very odd watch. It had twelve hands but no numbers; instead, little planets were moving around the edge. It must have made sense to Dumbledore, though, because he put it back in his pocket and said, "Where is Naruto?"

"He will be here." Soul took a sip of his coffee, watching them over the rim of the cup.

"You have a beautiful house," Minerva said.

"Thank you but it isn't my house, " Soul said.

"But you are Nat—I mean Naruto's father, aren't you?" Albus asked.

"I'm afraid you're mistaken. I am his Guardian, not his father." Soul pointed at the painting of a tall, blond man with bright blue eyes. "His name was Minato Uzumaki."

Minerva gaped. "Was? You mean—he is—"

"Dead," Soul said nodding his head.

They heard his heavy footsteps descending the stairs. "Sorry for keeping you waiting—Professor Dumbledore, Professor Minerva, I've heard a lot about you."

Both Dumbledore and Minerva pleased to see Nathan alive and safe. A huge weight was lifted off Dumbledore's chest. It had been ten years since he last saw him. The boy's face hadn't changed much, but he didn't remember seeing a small rhombus-shaped like mark on baby Nathan's forehead. He might have gotten it later. But anyway, He was tall for his age and looked healthy and strong. His eyes fell on a long, turquoise pendant he hadn't noticed before. The stone pendant attached to a long coil of black string, with two silver beads on either side of it. When he got its better look, he spotted the stone engraved with a symbol composed of an interlocking Triquetra and circle. He didn't realize he was staring at the boy.

"Hmm, there is something on my face," Naruto finally asked.

"Sorry, I didn't realize, " Dumbledore said. "It's been a while since I last saw you."

"I can't remember meeting you before—And you, Mr Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, have a too famous face to forget."

"Two days ago, I saw your face on a chocolate Frog Card," Soul pointed out. He loved Chocolate frogs, a very popular sweet in the Wizarding World. Like its name, they were a frog made of chocolate. They came with a collectable card of a famous witch or wizard in each pack.

Albus knew it was time to tell him the truth. "Naruto, we met when your name was Nathan Potter."

oOo…

Harry woke early in the morning. Although he could tell it was daylight, he kept his eyes shut tight.

"It was a dream," he told himself firmly. "I dreamed a giant called

Hagrid came to tell me I was going to a school for wizards. When I open my eyes I'll be at home in my cupboard."

There was suddenly a loud tapping noise.

And there's Aunt Petunia knocking on the door, Harry thought, his heart sinking. But he still didn't open his eyes. It had been such a good

Tap. Tap. Tap.

"All right," Harry mumbled, "I'm getting up."

He sat up and a heavy coat fell off him. He was in a hut full of sunlight, the storm was over. He saw Hagrid who was asleep on the collapsed sofa. The man was almost twice as tall as a normal man and at least five times as wide. He looked simply too big to be allowed, and so wild - long tangles of bushy black hair and beard hid most of his face, he had hands the size of trash can lids, and his feet in their leather boots were like baby dolphins.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

There was noise. Harry saw an owl rapping its claw on the window, a newspaper and a letter held in its beak. Harry scrambled to his feet, so happy he felt as though a large balloon was swelling inside him. He went straight to the window and jerked it open. The owl swooped in and dropped the letter on him. It then dropped the newspaper on top of Hagrid, who didn't wake up. The owl then fluttered onto the floor and began to attack Hagrid's coat.

"Don't do that."

Harry licked the letter and tried to wave the owl out of the way, but it snapped its beak fiercely at him and carried on savaging the coat.

"Hagrid!" Harry said loudly. "There's an owl."

"Pay him," Hagrid grunted into the sofa.

"What?"

"He wants payin' fer deliverin' the paper. Look in the pockets."

Hagrid's coat seemed to be made of nothing but pockets—bunches of keys, slug pellets, balls of string, peppermint humbugs, teabags... finally, Harry pulled out a handful of strange-looking coins.

"Give him five Knuts," Hagrid said sleepily.

"Knuts?"

"The little bronze ones."

Harry counted out five little bronze coins, and the owl held out his leg so Harry could put the money into a small leather pouch tied to it. Then he flew off through the open window. Harry looked at the yellowish envelope, addressed in emerald green to him. He pulled out the letter and read. The letter was from Professor Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts.

Harry's eyes widened and tears came. "Hagrid, I-I have a brother."

oOo…

"You don't need a wand because you already have one—We almost got everything in the list," the God of Death said, rechecking everything.

They were in the Diagon Alley, a cobblestoned shopping area for the wizarding world, where Hogwarts students could purchase necessary supplies. There were shops selling robes, shops selling telescopes and strange various instruments, windows stacked with barrels of bat spleens and eels' eyes, tottering piles of spell books, quills, and rolls of parchment, potion bottles, globes of the moon. As they passed several shops, they could hear various voices. They were either selling various materials and magical objects or buying them. Some of them were even doing window shopping or complaining.

"Uniform," Soul suddenly stopped, "I just remember, we didn't buy you a uniform."

When they entered the shop named Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions, they were greeted by a squat, smiling witch who was dressed in mauve clothing.

"Hogwarts, clear?" Madam Malkin said. "Got the lot here—another young man being fitted up just now, in fact."

In the back of the shop, a boy around Naruto's age was standing on a footstool while a second witch pinned up his long black robes. He had round-faced with a short, chubby build and brown hair. There was an old lady right behind him, wearing a hat with a stuffed vulture on it. She had a bright red handbag in her hand. Madam Malkin stood Naruto on a stool next to him, slipped a long robe over his head, and began to pin it to the right length.

"This your son?" the old lady next to him asked.

"No," Soul answered, "Actually, I'm his Guardian."

"Oh," the old lady said. "I'm Augusta Longbottom and this boy," she pointed at the brown-haired boy, "is my grandson Neville Longbottom."

"I am Soul."

"Hi, my name is Naruto," Naruto introduced to Neville, sticking out his hand towards him. The boy reached out his hand and stepped forward but tripped over the stool. Naruto caught him so quickly; the boy didn't get a chance to yelp. The boy seemed stunned at first, but he quickly stood up and straightened his robes.

"Neville, stop being so clumsy!" his grandmother scolded him.

"S-sorry, Gran," Neville said. He turned towards Naruto. "Thanks...my name is Neville."

"Are you going Hogwarts, too?" Naruto asked.

"Yes," Neville said shyly.

He's shy, and has very low self-confidence, Naruto thought as he analysed the boy's behaviour. It might be because of a traumatic event or something else. I'm not sure.

His train of thought was cut off by Madam Malkin' voice. "That's you two done, my dears."

"Thank you," Naruto said and hopped down from the footstool.

Madam Malkin handed packages to both boys. Soul paid for Naruto while Augusta paid for her grandson. Just before leaving the shop, Naruto looked back over at Neville's grandmother, Augusta.

"Your grandson isn't clumsy. He just doesn't believe himself," he said to Augusta, stunning her. "That will seriously affect his magical abilities and training. Believe him—this is the only thing he needs this right now." There was absolute silence in the shop. No one said anything, not even Neville's grandmother. "Neville, there is going to be a million people that tell you 'No' when you're starting out to do something. But, all you need is that one person to tell you 'Yes,' who's going to believe in you. But first, you need to believe in yourself," he added, looking at the boy, who had tears in his eyes. It was probably the first time someone had stood up for him.

With that Naruto and Soul left the shop, leaving Neville and his grandma thinking about everything he had said.

They walking down the busiest street, looking to buy some other stuff. The cart filled with Naruto's school items was magically following after them. Since they left the shop, the Dead God was quiet. He finally spoke.

"I see you haven't lost your silver tongue." He looked up at Naruto with an amused little smile.

"It was true," Naruto said before nodding towards Magical Menagerie shop. "Let's check out that shop."

"Why? Do you want a pet?"

"Not really."

By placing some security magic, they left their cart outside and entered in the pet shop. There wasn't much room inside. Every inch of wall was hidden by cages. It was smelly and very noisy because the occupants of these cages were all squeaking, squawking, jabbering or hissing.

"Welcome to the Magical Menagerie." They heard a female voice behind them. Turning around, they saw a woman in her sixties. "What can I get for you, Sir?"

"We are jus—" Soul couldn't finish his sentence as the old lady appeared in front of him and held his hand.

"I have got a perfect pet for you," the old lady said. She tried to pull Soul but he didn't budge from his spot.

In all noise in the shop, there was a strange howl coming from the corner of the shop. Naruto moved his head to the side listening. Slowly, he turned his head towards the sound and looked at the corner of the shop. Narrowing his eyes, he went in the direction the sound had come from.

In the corner of the shop stood a small cage holding a small fox kit, the same size of a household cat. The kit had red-orange fur. But what really caught Naruto's eye was that the little fox had two tails, swishing back and forth. When the kit opened his eye, Naruto froze. The ghost of his last life stood in front of him.

Kurama, Naruto thought, looking at the baby fox's red-slitted eyes.

"Would you like to buy him?" the old lady said. "Poor boy has a deformation, no one wants him."

"Yes, I want him."

Naruto opened the cage door and stretched a hand out towards his little fox. The fox moved closer licking his hand gently nuzzling slightly.

"I will get papers," The old lady said happily.

Naruto could hear her muttering something like "Finally...getting rid of the fox" under her breath on the way back to her desk. He shook his head and gazed down at his new pet. He smiled and picked him up.

"Human ignorance amuses me," Soul said as he stood next to him. "This fox isn't a normal fox. He is a kitsune."

Kitsune were magical creatures, native to Japan, that might be the reason why the old lady didn't know about the fox. They had a reputation as trickster spirits and had a naturally deceptive and mischievous nature, depicted as not caring for the concept of right or wrong. They were intelligent creatures with long life and powerful magic. The Kitsunes were secretive creatures and had very little information about them. There were rumours that the more tails a kitsune had—they might have as many as nine—the older, wiser, and more powerful it was.

"The kit might have powerful parents, if he already has two tails," Soul pointed out before he looked at Naruto. "What are you going to call him?"

Naruto petted behind the fox's ears, causing the fox to melt into the touch. "Kurama," he said. A blood-red aura dripped from his hand, wrapping around the little fox's body.

Soul's eyes widened when he saw the fox's fur glow blood-red before returning back to normal. "It was—"

"My partner's leftover chakra. It was the last thing I had about him."

The old lady came back, holding necessary papers for adoption. "These are your papers," she said.

Naruto took the papers from her. After reading them over, he signed his name, the amount he was paying, and paid the old lady.

"Thank you," the old lady said, taking both the papers and money from him.

oOo…

It was a large, elaborate room. The huge, fluffy bed was perfectly made, the light from a chandelier hanging above, completely showing the pale blue wallpaper and multiple portraits on the wall. A large bookshelf full of books on spells stood against one sidewall. A wooden sliding door leading out to a balcony was visible on the other end of the room.

It wasfirst September. Naruto was packing his trunks for his year at Hogwarts.

"I will be sufficient," Naruto said as he stood in a front pile of clothes. He flicked off his wand and packed all his clothes in a large silver-black trunk with Uzumaki swirl on it. "I need extra shoes."

A Darkling came out of the shadow, holding Naruto's extra pair of shoes in her hands.

"Put them in the trunk."

"Naruto, catch this," Soul said.

Naruto stared at the small brown package. "What is this?" he asked.

"My daughter wanted to give it to you personally, but she has some urgent work to do."

Naruto unwrapped his gift. Inside was a small green and brown coloured bag. The pear-shaped bag had designed the head of a monster with a cross-stitch next to the button as its eyes and a zipper as its mouth. The bag in his hand suddenly opened its mouth like a zipper, showing its pointed teeth—they were practically harmless as they were made from the same material as the bag. It bounced up and down on his hands before jumped down and wrapped its belt around Naruto's waist.

"Do you like it?"

"Yes." Naruto nodded as he looked at the odd sachet hanging on the right side of his waist. When he put the wand into its mouth, it seemed to disappear.

Out of the corner of his eye, Soul saw the Darkling close the trunk. "Have you finished packing?"

Kurama hopped onto Naruto's shoulder, snuggling into his neck.

"I think yes."

"Let's go. We will be late if we do not leave now."

oOo…

The scarlet steam engine was waiting next to a platform packed with people. A sign overhead said Hogwarts Express, eleven O'clock. Naruto and Soul appeared in front of the wrought-iron archway Platform Nine and Three-Quarters on it.

"Naruto, I have already twisted many divine laws to raise you, but from now, you have to do this alone—without my any help," Soul said, there was seriousness his voice. "Save my world. Naruto Uzumaki, You are my only hope."

"I will, Soul."

Naruto pushed his trolley forward and began to walk towards the Hogwarts Express. The first few carriages were already packed with students, some hanging out of the window to talk to their families, some fighting over seats. Naruto pushed his cart off down the platform in search of an empty seat.

Naruto pressed on through the chattering crowd until he found an empty compartment. Naruto easily lifted his metal trunk with one hand like nothing and climbed into the carriage. Kurama jumped off of Naruto's shoulder and landed at his feet.

"Kurama, You've decided to walk on your feet. Good," Naruto said. Since moving with him, the kitsune had done nothing but sleep, eat and sleep. He was a lazy fox.

"Excuse me," a voice said, which from its gentle tones seemed to belong to a young girl.

Naruto turned and searched for the source of the sound. There she was standing, holding large metal trunk in her hand, wearing a simple dark purple blouse with a red-plum skirt. She was a fair-skinned beautiful girl. She had long, straight, black hair with bangs hanging on either side of her face to roughly frame her cheeks and dark blue eyes.

"Please, let me help you, Miss," he said. He lifted her trunk to place it in the overhead ramp and after that, he helped her to get inside the carriage.

"Thanks," the girl said. She took a deep breath, and slowly held her hand out to him. "My name is Melanie Reaper."

Naruto took her soft hand and shook it. "Reaper? Really?" he said. "Not so very original, Mel."

"Shut up!" Mel yelled as her face flushed, she wasn't sure if it was from anger or embarrassment. "Help me with my luggage, Fishcake."

"How many times have I told you my name means maelstrom!"

"Who is this little guy?" she asked, completely ignoring Naruto's outburst. She was holding Kurama in her arms.

"His name is Kurama," Naruto said, picking up Mel's trunk.

"Wasn't it the name of your old partner?" Mel asked.

"Yes, It was," Naruto said as he tucked away their trunks in a corner of the compartment.

"And he says, I'm bad with names." Mel sat down next to the window, placing Kurama on her lap.

Naruto took a seat across her. "Aren't you too old to be in a school?"

"Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. You are older than me, Naruto Uzumaki," Mel said while scratching the fox behind his ears. The little fox let out a low purr before closing his eyes.

"Joking aside, why are you actually here, Mel?"

Mel crossed her arms and narrowed eyes at him. "To keep you in a line. You have a tendency to overdo everything."

Naruto didn't believe a word of it. "Did your father know you are here?"

"Mom knows."

"Right." He looked at her, completely deadpan. "What about the divine law that limits Gods' interfere in mortal affairs?"

"I am a half-blood, that law won't apply to me."

While they had been talking, the train had carried them out of London. Now they were speeding past fields full of cows and sheep. They were quiet for a time, watching the fields and lanes flick past.

"You've dyed your hair and changed eyes colour," Naruto said, looking at the girl.

"Silver coloured hair and red eyes are very uncommon, even in the wizarding world." Mei said and she looked down at the charmed bag hanging on the right side of his waist. "Do you like my gift?"

"Yes, it's very helpful. Thanks for it."

"I told mom, she made it especially for you," Mel said. "It can store an unlimited amount of any sized items."

There was a great clattering outside in the corridor and a smiling, dimpled woman slid back their door. She appeared to be in her late sixties and had a long head of grey hair on her head. The woman was too nicely dressed for someone who only handed out treats on the train.

"Pardon me but would you like some sweets?"

"Do you want to try it?" Naruto asked.

"Are you paying?" Mel asked.

"Yes." Naruto got up from his seat and walked out into the corridor. "What do you have?"

"I have Bettie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, Drooble's Best

Blowing Gum, Chocolate Frogs. Pumpkin Pasties, Cauldron Cakes, Licorice Wands, and—" the older woman said to Naruto, but he stopped her.

"Ok, I understand you have so many candies. Just give me some of everything."

He paid the woman eleven silver Sickles and seven bronze Knuts. He brought it all back into the compartment and tipped it onto an empty seat. Kurama nose twitched with the scent of food and he awoke from his slumber.

"When he is not lazy, he is hungry," he muttered under his breath when he saw Kurama wagging his tail, expecting some reward.

Mel took a bite of pumpkin pasty, obviously savouring its flavour before she swallowed. "Not bat."

"Yeah," Naruto said, taking another bite out of a pumpkin pasty. After finishing the pasty, he opened a bag of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans. "Well, they say every flavour."

He picked up a green bean, looked at it carefully, and tossed into his mouth. "Not bad."

"Let me try it." Mel said, picking up a red bean and bit into a corner.

"Bleaaargh—Gross, earthworm."

They had a good time eating the Every Flavour Beans. Mel got baked bean, grass, coffee, dirt and blueberry. Naruto got coconut, strawberry, fish, broccoli, honey and was even brave enough to eat a black one Mel wouldn't touch, which turned out to be dog food.

Mel grabbed a pack of Chocolate Frogs. "This is my dad's favourite sweet," she said.

After carefully opening the box, she grabbed hold of the Frog in one hand to stop it from escaping and idly flipped over the laminated card. It showed a man's face. He wore half-moon glasses, had a long, crooked nose, and flowing silver hair, beard, and moustache. Underneath the picture was the name Albus Dumbledore.

"So this is Dumbledore!" Mel said.

She turned over his card and read:

ALBUS DUMBLEDORE

CURRENTLY HEADMASTER OF HOGWARTS

Considered by many the greatest wizard of modern times, Dumbledore is particularly famous for his defeat of the dark wizard Grindelwald in 1945, for the discovery of the twelve uses of dragon's blood, and his work on alchemy with his partner, Nicolas Flamel. Professor Dumbledore enjoys chamber music and tenpin bowling.

She turned the card back over and saw that Dumbledore's face had disappeared. "Well, he's gone!"

The frog hopped out of her grasp and landed in front of Kurama. The fox kit growled at the frog as he got to his feet. He opened his jaw, sparking ominously with red electricity.

"Is he going to use Fox-Fire?" Mel asked as she heard about Kitsune's famous fox-fire and wanted to see it herself.

Kurama fired his first fox-fire, but nothing more than a small flame erupted.

"That's disappointing," Mel said.

"He is too young to use it now," Naruto said.

The frog jumped onto Kurama's head. It leapt forward and threw himself towards an open window, but Mel moved to intercept its escape. She grabbed it and quickly bit the head off before the frog could make another attempt to escape.

"Let's check out other sweets," she said and they talked, joked, and ate pastries, cakes, and candies.

The countryside now flying past the window was becoming wilder. The neat fields had gone. Now there were woods, twisting rivers, and dark green hills.

There was a knock on the door of their compartment and a bucked tooth bushy-haired girl, she was wearing her new Hogwarts robes, and the round-faced boy, who Naruto recognised, came in.

The girl said, "Hi. My name is Hermione Granger. Has anyone seen a toad? Nevi—"

"Neville, What happened?" Naruto asked as the boy looked tearful.

"Naruto," Neville said. "Have you seen a toad?"

When they shook he and Mel heads, he wailed, "I've lost him! He keeps getting away from me!"

"I'll help you to find it," Naruto said, standing from his seat. He looked at Bella. "Want to help me?"

"Sure, why not?" Mel said.

"Mel, This is Neville. I met him in Diagon Alley," Naruto said, introducing Neville to Mel. Then he pointed at the bushy-haired girl. "She is—what is your name again?"

"My name is Hermione Granger," the girl said in an annoyed tone.

Mel said, "Nice to meet you, Hermione. I am Melanie, but you can call me Mel."

"And I'm Naruto."
