Today was the day, the first anniversary of their first date. And to Hercules, it couldn't have been a better time to propose to his girlfriend a whole year, Megara.

Remembering what they did on their first date last year, Hercules had planned out for them to do the same things today…only it would top off with them going to the garden in the evening and sharing a picnic, during which he would make his proposal.

"So what's going on today, Wonder Boy?"

"Well, Meg, do you know what today is?"

Meg narrowed her eyes in confusion. "Uh…Wednesday?"

"True, but it's a special day for us."

"Oh, you mean because it's the anniversary of when we first went out together?"

"That's right. And so to celebrate it, I'm taking you out today."

"Don't you have any bookings for the day?"

"I did…but I actually took care of them days ago so I could have the whole day off…and so we could be alone together all day."

Meg raised her eyebrow and smiled slyly in interest. "Just the two of us?" she asked coyly.

"Just the two of us," Hercules affirmed with a wide smile.

By evening, Hercules and Meg were the garden and had finished their picnic dinner. Now they were talking a stroll together, passing the same spots they came upon last year. When they came upon the Venus statue that Hercules accidentally broke, they noticed its arms were still missing. "Remember when you wrecked the statue?" Meg giggled, hiding her mouth behind her hand.

Hercules laughed nervously. "I remember it all too well." But then he smiled. "Still think it looks better this way?"

"Oh yes, it really does," Meg answered.

Hercules turned to look at Meg, who still had her eyes on the statue. Sensing his gaze, she turned to him. With their eyes now on each other, Hercules asked, "Did you enjoy the day, Meg? I kind of wanted to recreate what we did when we first went out last year."

"Oh, Hercules, it's been a wonderful day. Definitely the most wonderful day of my life."

Hercules gently took Meg's hands and tenderly kissed them. "I'm so happy to hear that."

"Thank you, for everything," Meg said softly, almost in a whisper. She leaned towards Hercules's face and placed her left hand on his face before her lips met his lips, and they kissed deeply.

After the couple ended their kiss, a few moments passed with them gazing into each other eyes while holding hands. Then Hercules coaxed Meg into his embrace when he said, "Come here."

So Meg snuggled into Hercules's shoulder, sighing blissfully as she placed her right hand on the shoulder, and her left hand around his torso. Hercules likewise gently wrapped his big arms around Meg's slender body, holding her close to him and stroking her hair. The couple closed their eyes and wore smiles on their faces as they continued to stand in the same place with their arms around each other. Soon, Hercules started to kiss Meg's head before he moved to her cheek. Feeling Hercules's lips on her face, Meg reciprocated by kissing his neck, then his cheek. The couple's eyes then met again, and they proceeded to kissing each other on their lips.

One thing that Hercules had learned about Meg over the past year was that she wasn't someone who was very short with kisses. The two had engaged in many long, passionate make out sessions throughout the year, with Meg often putting her hand on Hercules's head or neck to keep him in place while they kissed.

"Meg, you're amazing. You know that?"

"Yes."

"I mean it, though. I mean, you're the most amazing, most extraordinary person I've ever known…whether or not you have weak ankles."

"You told me that last year. I remember it so well."

"Yes. But Meg…Meg, I love you."

"I love you, too, Wonder Boy," Meg answered with a sweet smile on her face. Without warning, she grabbed Hercules's face with both of her hands and pulled him in for a kiss. Hercules's immediate response was holding up his hands and widening his eyes in surprise, but he smiled just as quickly and returned Meg's kiss, placing his hands on her cheeks.

After they finished kissing, Hercules took Meg's hands again. "I know, but I love you, Meg. I mean, I really love you. I love you…I love you so much."

"How many times are you gonna tell me that you love me?" Meg sighed, rolling her eyes in mild annoyance. But then she gave Hercules a sly, seductive smile as she slowly coiled her arms around his neck and held him in her hands. "Not that I really want you to stop, of course."

"I…Well, Meg…I love you to the moon and back. I love you more than anything on this earth…" Seeing he had Meg's full attention made Hercules feel at a loss for words. "Wh-wh-what I-I-I'm tr-tr-trying to say is…is…Meg, I-I-I," he continued, stuttering nervously and feeling drops of sweat starting to form on his forehead.

Meg's lips stayed curled into a smile, but she raised one eyebrow up in amusement as she watched Hercules stutter with almost every syllable he spoke. "Herc…are you always this articulate?" she asked in a lightly sarcastic voice, but while still wearing her smile.

Hercules chuckled awkwardly, still feeling at a loss for words at Meg's famous question for him. Before he could say anything, Meg took the front of his tunic and pulled him towards her, though more gently this time, and she tenderly kissed his cheek.

Meg's face lit up and a wide smile began to form on her face as she realized what Hercules was trying to say to her.

Hercules then took a deep breath before he let out the words perfectly: "Meg, I love you with everything I am. I can't live without you…And I don't want to live without you," he paused briefly, but was determined to continue. "And that's why I would be most honored…to have you as my wife."

Upon hearing the word "wife", Meg brought her hands to her mouth and gasped. Her reaction prompted Hercules to kneel down, pull out the ring, and show it to her. When he did, he finished by saying, "Will you marry me?"

By now, a few tears of joy were falling down Meg's face. "Yes!"

"YES! WHOO!" Hercules exclaimed in excitement. He stood up from where he was kneeling and wrapped Meg in a tight hug before he kissed her passionately, and she reciprocated. Before she could say anything else, Hercules kept his arms around Meg as he lifted her up and spun her around in a circle. The couple laughed as they twirled together, then Hercules set Meg back on the ground, after which they shared another kiss (and Meg lifted up her foot during the kiss).

Once they broke their kiss, Hercules offered Meg the ring. "Don't you wanna put this on?"

Meg gasped in awe at the ring, then nodded, with tears still brimming in her eyes. Hercules gently slipped the ring on her finger, and Meg said, "It's so beautiful! I love you so much, Wonder Boy!"

"I love you, too, Meg," Hercules replied. Upon hearing those words, Meg let out a joyful sob and pulled Hercules in for another kiss, another long one, which Hercules was only too happy to reciprocate.
