A/N: These scenes take place in the world of my Toddy story, "All In". You don't necessarily have to read "All In" to understand these. Basically, Teddy and Tom are married. Teddy, Tom, Owen, Leo, Allison, and Megan (Teddy and Tom's daughter) all live together in one house. Each chapter will focus on the kids in different situations. At the beginning of each chapter, I will give the ages of all three children. They will always be one year apart for simplicity's sake because they are all somewhere between 1 and 2 years apart, but with birthdays their ages would sometimes vary.

Chapter 1: Leo Age 4

Allison (3), Megan (2)

"Hi, I'm here to pick up Leo Hunt," Teddy told the secretary at the preschool. "I was told he got sick in class today."

The secretary looked down at the papers in front of her. "I'm sorry. What's your name?"

"Teddy Altman," she told the lady nicely. "I'm his mom."

"I'm sorry, but you aren't listed as his legal guardian," the secretary explained.

"Well, no, I'm not," Teddy agreed. "But, I pick him up from here like every other day."

The secretary raised an eyebrow at her, not quite believing her story. She was his mom but wasn't his legal guardian? "For his safety, I can only release him to his legal guardian unless his dad instructs otherwise."

Teddy shook her head. This was so frustrating. She understood why they wouldn't hand Leo over to her and was glad that he was in a school that was trying to protect him. But, she was his mom and he was sick and she just wanted to take him home.

After some convincing by Owen over the phone with the secretary, Teddy was able to pick up Leo. Leo was brought to the office and Teddy lifted him up. He was rubbing his eyes and looked tired.

"Mommy, my tummy hurts," Leo told her, hugging her.

"I know, buddy, let's go home," Teddy told him, rubbing his back. She carried him to the car while also trying to push the double stroller.

When they got home, Teddy put on a movie for Leo and cuddled with him on the couch, running her hand through his soft curly hair. Leo fell asleep on her and Teddy held him close.

When Owen got home from work, he saw Teddy sitting on the couch while Allison and Megan scribbled in a coloring book.

"Hey, how's -" he started.

"Shhh," Teddy shushed, pointing at Leo. As Owen stepped into the living room he could now see that Leo was curled in a ball on Teddy's lap.

"Shh," Allison repeated to him, putting her finger to her lip. Megan put her finger in front of her lip too, copying her sister.

"Ugh, I can't believe there are three of you in this house," Owen whispered to Teddy about the girls who acted just like Teddy.

Teddy smiled and gave a proud shrug.

Later, after putting Leo and the girls to bed, Teddy stared at Owen as he watched TV.

"What?" he asked, noticing that she was staring at him.

"Um, I wanted to ask you something," she explained.

"Okay," he encouraged. She seemed unsure of her question. "Teds, come on, whatever it is, just say it."

"I want to adopt Leo," Teddy told him.

"Oh," Owen replied, not expecting that.

"It broke my heart today that I couldn't just pick him up from school because I love him and he is my son," Teddy explained. She studied Owen's face. "Unless, you don't want me to. If you're waiting until you and Amelia get married and want her to adopt him. In which case, ignore me."

"Teddy, stop," Owen insisted. "We will get the paperwork. You are his mom. He chose you. When Amelia and I get married, she will be his step-mom. Okay?"

Teddy smiled and hugged Owen. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

The next morning, Owen made a call to get started on the process of naming Teddy as Leo's mom. Teddy sat with Leo, overly excited.

"Are you excited, Leo?" she asked. "I'm going to be your mom."

He scrunched his face up confused. "You are my mom."

Teddy smiled and kissed his head. "Yeah, I am. I love you."

After weeks of endless amounts of paperwork, Teddy was added to the adoption papers. The family celebrated but the kids didn't really understand what there was to celebrate. Teddy was already Leo's mom no matter what the paperwork said.

A/N: I hope you enjoyed this little scene. Some will be short like this while others will be longer. I have about 20 chapters planned and have written about 5 already. Please review and let me know what you think!
