TAKEN - The Series

Chapter 3

"Next to us, Right?"

"Okay, Webby." Huey said, as he took out a pad and pencil out from under his hat. "Start making a list of all the villians Scrooge has." He told her.

"Right." Webby said, but stopped making Huey stop and turn around to look at her.

"What is it?" Huey asked, seeing the look on her face.

"W,What if it isn't one of Scrooge's villians?" W,What if it's someone we know, or, or Dewey knew?"

"I doubt it, besides -." Huey began.

"W,What if," Webby interupted, "what if it's someone Louie knows?" She asked.

Huey stared at her.

"Are you saying this has nothing to do with Dewey, but Louie?" Huey demaned, Webby fidgeted nervously.

"I, I'm just saying," Webby said, "That it might not be just Scrooge's fault if villians are invovled." She told him. "You guys have plenty of villians yourselves." She pointed out.

"Yeah. That's are fault I guess?" Huey snapped. Webby could tell her friend was getting angry, but she took a deep breath and bravely continued.

"You have Mark Beaks, The Beagle Boys -." She began.

"I wouldn't count Mark Beaks." Huey interupted. "And it's not just me with -."

"Louie has Doofus Drake, B.O.Y.D and if you count Goldie..." Webby continued.

"B.O.Y.D and Louie are fine now! He told me so after the first time he slept over -." Huey interupted, again.

"And Dewey," Webby continued, standing her ground, "he's got Don Kanarge, plus his whole pirate crew. I'm sure we hadn't heard the last of them." She stated.

"Okay. Okay." Huey fumed. "I get it, alright!" He snapped.

Webby looked down at the ground, blinking hard to hold back tears that Huey saw coming. He sighed deeply.

"Look, sorry I yelled." He began. Webby looked up as Huey looked away, avoiding her watery eyes. He hated to see her like that. Hated that he had just about made her cry. "I, I'm just so worried about the both of them, that -." He stopped when he felt her wrap his arms around his waist in a tight hug.

He was taken aback at first, then, slowly embraced her back.

"I know, Huey." She whispered. "You don't think I'm worried about them too?" She asked, slowly pulling away from him. Huey looked at her with guilt. "But I'm being realistic here. There's more going on here that we aren't seeing. We need to know excatly who we are up against, not just with Scrooge." She told him.

"R,Right." Huey stammered with a sigh.

Webby was right. She was always right.

"Okay, then, let's make a list of all the people we think are in on this." Huey said as they continued to walk down the streets of Duckburg. "Make all the possible team ups too."

"And people who can help." Webby chimed in. Huey opened his mouth to protest. "Look, we are going to need all the help we can get." She insisted.

Huey groaned and nodded.

Webby smiled and whiped out her phone as she started jotting down anyone she can think of who would and could be in on this. She paused long enough to dial a number and it picked up on the second ring.

"Hello?" Came Violet's voice from the other end.

"Vi? It's Webby, is Lena with you?" Webby asked.

She heard yelling in the background, and the sound of a TV turned up all the way. Lena shouting something like,

"Go! Go! Knock his freakin' block off!"

"Yeah? Why?" Violet asked.

"Don't tell me you guys are watching wrestling again, " Webby said, rolling her eyes, "and without me?" She added.

"What? No." Violet replied, sheepishly. "We're um..." Her voice trailed off and Webby could tell that she had moved off somewhere so that Webby couldn't hear what was going on in the background anymore. "Watching a demolision derby thing. Yeah. That's it! You know, cars crashing into one another that sort of thing."

"You are a bad a liar as I am. Vi." Webby retorted.

"Yeah. Your right. Sorry." Violet said, sighing deeply. "We were watching wrestling."

"Glad your sorry, cause' you can make it up to me right now." Webby said, getting right to the point.

"Okay. What are you suggesting?" Violet asked.

"Bring Lena and meet us at the park. Tell you there." Webby told her, and hung up before Violet had a chance to change her mind.

"Lena and Violet?" Huey groaned as they turned and made their way to the park. Webby raised an eyebrow.

Huey didn't really mind Violet, but Lena always gave him the creeps. Her magic and the fact that she was Magica De Spell's shadow made it even worse. He really didn't care much for Lena after her challange with him for Senior Woodchuck awhile back, the way she taunted Violet into smack talking him during the entire race...

He shivered.

Was that how it was going to be everytime they were around him?

Webby noticed Huey shivering and sighed deeply.

"If it'll make you feel better, you can invite B.O.Y.D." She told him.

That made Huey's eyes light up.

"Really?" He asked, taking out his own phone and dialing B.O.Y.D's number.

"Really," She told him, "but you have got to at least give Lena and Violet a chance. They are my best friends." She told him.

"Next to us, right?" He asked, giving her a wink as he waited for B.O.Y.D to pick up.

Webby beamed at him, no longer tears in her eyes, which made Huey feel a bit better.

"Right." She replied, "After you guys." She told him, punching him playfully in the arm just as B.O.Y.D answered on the fourth ring.

"Huey!" He said, excitedly. "I've been hoping to hear from you, it's been so long!"

"Sorry, about that, buddy." Huey said, as he felt a sharp stab of guilt, "got caught up in family drama."

"What kind of drama?" B.O.Y.D asked. "Is everything alright? Your voice sounds distraught." He added.

"Mind meeting me at the park in a few? Can tell you everything there." He told him.

"I'm on my way!" B.O.Y.D said, a bit to eagerly as he quickly hung up.

"I take it he's in?" Webby asked, with a wide grin.

"Yeah. He's in." Huey said.

"Okay!" Webby said, thrusting her fist up in the air, "Operation Greedy Greens is a go!"

Huey stopped walking and stared at her confused.

"Greedy Greens?" He repeated, raising an eyebrow.

"Code name for Louie." Webby explained.

Huey's eyes widen as he finally got it.

"Oh!" He said, "Wait, don't tell me you have code names for Dewey and me too." He said with a groan as they continued to walk.

"Oh, you know I do." Webby said, a bit too proudly.

"Do I even what to know?" He asked as the park came into view.

"Nerp." Webby said, using the same tone that Dewey would have in this conversation.

Webby saw a smile slowly spread across Huey's face. It was the first time he smiled since the whole firework inncodent and it made Webby feel a teeny bit of relief. She had been afraid that he was upset with her too. That she didn't try and stop Dewey from doing this totally outrages thing. But she went along with it instead, and as a result...

But, obviously he wasn't upset with her. Or else, he wouldn't have asked her to help him with this. But Webby still felt that little ping of guilt. No matter what, she was going to help figure this out. She only hoped that Dewey was doing okay without her. The thought of him having to handle this alone made Webby's stomach tighten into a knott.

But like Huey told her before.

Good or Bad, they were in this together, and Huey made it clear that Webby was a part of that now, when he asked her if she was in, and she was more then willing to prove to Huey and the rest that that she was.

She was so totally in.

Louie; however, wasn't in the best of moods.

Not only was he suffering from third degree burns, but now, it looked like he was being kidnapped by an unknown villian of sorts, while he was trying hard not to think bad thoughts about Dewey.

This was all his fault!

If he hadn't been playing with those stupid fireworks!

He looked around the room.

It wasn't that bad in here, he had a twin sized bed, his color coded sheets matched the ones back home, he had a flat screen TV, a top of the line recliner in which he eagerly (and ignoring the pain from his burnt out webbed feet) ran to and jumped in. He grabbed the remote by the side table and flicked on the TV automatically Ottoman Empire blared out of the surround sound that made the walls slightly vibrate.

Louie grinned.

Not bad. He thought. If only he had...

No sooner a he thought it a bowl of popcorn slid out of a shute next to him, it landed neatly beside him on the side table, no sooner had that came then a can of PEP shot out from a tube that slid open and Louie quickly picked it up making the door to the tube quickly shut and yet another PEP appeared, ready to be taken out when he was done.

Maybe this wasn't going to be as bad as he thought.

Little did Louie know that someone was watching him.

The tiny spy camera from above the TV zoomed in on him as he continued to stare blankly at the TV screen.

A dark figure watched him with intrest as the small duck continued to be obliviouse to what was really happening.

All was going according to plan...
