Harry Potter was walking down the corridor after his detention spent with the demon spawn of a toad. He was muttering under his breath some creative ways of bringing the woman to heel. He wouldn't be surprised if she was really descended from toads, knowing that with magic many things were possible.
"HARRY!" Someone shouted near his ear. He jumped and drew his wand from his sleeve and quickly looked around for the source. He saw Susan Bones, who was surprised to see a wand pointed at her. He quickly sheathed his wand and blushed.
"That was some quick reflexes. I had been trying to get your attention for a while." Susan giggled at him after recovering from her shock.
"Well, you would have to be if your life is in constant danger," muttered Harry, flushing slightly and scratching his head. "And I am sorry, I was thinking and wasn't paying attention."
Laughing Susan commented, " I understand. Aunty had..." She gave a gasp and took hold of his right hand to confirm what she had seen. She noted that he flinched when she touched him and looked at his hand. Her suspicions were confirmed when she saw the blood soaking the kerchief covering his hand.
"What happened, Harry," Susan asked. She noticed his eyes flitting around nervously, while his face looked like it was carved from stone. He withdrew his hand from her grasp quickly and said, "Its nothing, Susan. I had scraped my hand when I had slipped in the corridor."
Susan narrowed her eyes. She would have believed had it not been for that fact that she was able to discern that he was lying. She also understood that he didn't want to share whatever it was with her.
"Okay, I will accompany you to the hospital wing then," Susan commented. Harry panicked, he didn't want anyone to know about his detentions as that could cause problems to her and also show that he was weak. Susan saw his look of panic and knew that it was something serious. She quickly came to a decision and took hold of his hand and dragged him into an empty classroom just down the corridor.
She quickly closed the door and put up privacy and silencing charms over the door and windows. She looked around for any portraits in the room. She noted that Harry was looking at her with a wary glance but didn't say anything and looked at her firing off the spells.
"Show me your hand. If you don't want to go to Madam Pomfrey, atleast let me clean out the wound," Susan said.
Harry and Susan were friends in loose terms. Susan had apologised to Harry last year about believing him to be the Heir of Slytherin and that he had entered his name in the Triwizard Tournament. They had quite a few conversations in classes and when they bumped into each other. He knew that one way or another she would make him show his injury to her. He knew about her sense of loyalty and justice. He had seen her taking down two fifth year Slytherin's for harassing a first year muggleborn last year.
He extended his hand towards her and she carefully removed the cloth covering it. She gasped as fresh bleeding started and muttered Episkey on his hand. She quickly followed it with a cleaning charm. She had to use Episkey two more times. She let out a strangled gasp when she saw the lettering on the hand.
"What happened, Harry? Why does this look like someone carved words into your hand?" Susan asked Harry. Harry felt relief on his hand when she healed his injury but was disappointed about the scarring.
Harry sighed, resigned to his fate and replied without looking at her, " Umbridge makes me write with this quill for the detention that uses my blood. She had me do lines stating I must not tell lies from the beginning of the year."
When Harry didn't hear any response from her, he looked up and was surprised to see her furious gaze. She exploded at him, "Why are you allowing that vile person to make you use the Blood Quill? Do you not know that if you had signed after writing those lines you would be bound in a contract and you wouldn't be able to tell lies any longer? What were you playing at? Why didn't you tell any professor? That bitch would have been thrown into Azkaban for this."
Harry was surprised by her furious rant and was overwhelmed by the information he was able to discern from her ranting. "Wha...? But..?" Harry stuttered through his shock at the knowledge that he could have been bound into a contract again.
Susan saw his bewildered gaze and took a deep breath to control her furious thoughts. She asked him, "Harry, do you know anything about the properties of Blood Quill and it's legality?"
She sighed when she saw him shaking his head. "Blood Quills are only used when there is a contract to be signed, like in the marriage contract or the inheritance tests. It is almost the same as giving a magical oath but in written format. You cannot withdraw from the contract without having your magic removed. It had been restricted to be used only in Gringotts and the Ministry. No private institutions were allowed to use for their negotiations. Some people were duped of their wealth when they were made to sign a contract with compulsion charms on the quills."
Harry looked at her with a dawning look of horror and quickly became furious. He looked fit to curse someone quite harshly. Susan quickly stepped Infront of him understanding what he was going to do an wanting to stop him before he did something that he would regret later.
"Move Susan. I want to throttle that bitch and give her to the acromantulas to feed," Harry growled at her.
"No Harry, even though she deserves it, you would in more trouble and you would be the one in Azkaban," Seeing it hadn't quiet deterred from his murderous thoughts, she gave him a hug to restrain him. Harry flinched suddenly at the unexpected contact and relaxed under her hug. He shuddered thinking of how naive he was and how foolhardy it was to give into his pride and not getting any adults help.
Harry took a deep breath and caught the scent of strawberry from her. He realised the position he was in and quickly ended the hug. He knew that she was an attractive witch. She had a dark auburn hair and bright blue eyes that looked to be always glinting with happiness. She was well endowed and had a nice ass. Her robes accentuated her curves rather well.
Susan chuckled at his discomfort and teased him, "Like what you feel Harry?"
Harry stuttered and blushed heavily. He looked at her face trying to control his reaction and glimpsed her smirk.
Susan let go of her smirk and turned back to the topic at hand. "Why didn't tell any professor about your detentions, Harry?"
"I tried to but Professor McGonagall told me that she wouldn't be able to help and to keep my head down," Harry responded. "And I was afraid that she might try to harm others who were helping me."
Susan thought about the situation for a bit and said, "Well I might be able to help if you promise that you would keep it to yourself."
"How? I don't want to drag anyone into trouble."
"I hope you do know that my Aunty is the Director of Magical Enforcement and as such would be able to help you out."
"Is your Aunt, Amelia Bones?" At Susan's nod, he continued " Okay, I like her, she had supported me during my trial in the summer."
