Prologue

In a far-off future, the sun's expansion had forced humanity to flee into the deepest recesses of the Earth's oceans in order to escape its dangerous radiation. Giant undersea cities were soon constructed, while deep-space probes were launched to search across the heavens for a safe planet that would serve as a potentially new home. None had returned.

Nearly a millennium had passed, and humanity was already resigning itself to a slow and suffocating death at the bottom of the sea. Hope has practically become a religion, a flame in the dark that might threaten to sputter and fade. Only a few of the great cities still remain to this very day, the populace eking out what meagre lives they can, awaiting the inevitable.

However, hope hasn't died just yet, for a deep space probe has crashed onto the surface and holds within it what could possibly be the key to the salvation of mankind. Someone just needs to reach the surface to retrieve it. Someone needs to restore hope to the world and reunite all.
