"Nee, Subaru. What's that?"

"Ah, Emilia-tan. I was just reading one of Flugel's notes. About alternate… Timelines."

Natsuki Subaru, the wielder of four Authorities of Sin, replied. The half-elf known both as Emilia and her lesser title, the "Witch of Glaciation", looked at her knight in surprise; as if she didn't know the book he was reading.

"One of Flugel the Sage's books? The books you said had your homeland's writings, right? And alternate timelines?"

The half-elf's knight nodded in response.

It had been a few months after he, Emilia, and six others had conquered the Pleiades Watchtower in search of the cure for the affected victims of Lust and Gluttony. Safe to say, they had done it with several new startling discoveries.

They discovered the wealth of knowledge that Flugel the Sage had kept from the world. Knowledge that held the history of the world Subaru was sent to.

It contained ancient magics and information that only Subaru had understood. Beatrice, Subaru's contracted spirit, had not known these despite being Echidna's daughter, the Witch of Greed, arguably the witch who sought the world's knowledge in her endless greed for knowledge.

But despite of all the deeds they did in the Tower, but they had failed one crucial objective.

The cure for the affected Gluttony's victims.

At the time, Subaru was distraught with the knowledge that there was no known cure for Gluttony's victims. His only hope is to master Gluttony's Authority in order to fix the damage the siblings had caused. But it was up to Flugel's knowledge that will help him.

However, he knew curing Rem and the people affected by Gluttony's Authority had to wait. For now, he had some things he had to explain to Emilia.

"Yeah. It said here that alternate timelines exist for various reasons. The one reason Flugel explained in this particular note that they are 'diverged paths of the main path one must follow,' and he also said 'only those with the right Authority must be capable of turning these diverged routes back to one true route'… Tch, sounds like he's referring to someone capable of using time-manipulating ability."

Internally, Subaru was glad the penalty didn't activate due to his explanation. It would as long as it didn't directly refer to "Return by Death" the Witch of Envy had no reason to activate the curse inside him.

"Eh~, that's sound complicated. But there's something to it, right?"

"I was getting to that. In one of Flugel's notes," he grabbed the nearest book and opened it, "Says here that I can travel to one of those alternate timelines by doing a certain ritual-like spell."

"Subaru…"

"Ah, sorry. It says here the ritual does not need to perform any taboo actions and materials. It states that I needed to bring a certain number of companions and there, alternate timeline we go."

"…Does it say which alternate timeline, Subaru?"

"…It did say that if we to bring a companion, let's say a girl, then the timeline we visited along the girl where that girl is a boy… Sounds weird, right?"

Emilia nodded, knowing a certain knight in Lugunica looks like a girl but is actually a boy. And if that knight was a girl in that timeline and looks a boy made Emilia's and Subaru's spine shiver at the thought of that.

"How many does it say in order to activate the spell to go to that timeline, Subaru?"

"Not much, just seven, including the one who is holding this book in order to activate the spell though."

"Seven, huh? Then—"

"Oi!"

A familiar loudmouth was heard as the door inside Subaru's room, which doubled as a mini-library for Beatrice, was swung opened. Revealing a familiar blonde-haired youth.

"Hey, cap'n, what'cha doin'? Yer readin' Flugel's book, aren't ya?"

"Ah, Garfiel. Yes I—"

"Natsuki-san!" a white-haired man entered the room, "What are you doing here!? I need your help!"

"Oi Otto, what—"

"I knew you were here, Subaru. It seems I was right to find you here; I suppose."

"Beako what do you need—"

"Barusu." Came the red-head maid.

"Wait Ram, what are you—"

"Subaru are you here?"

"Julius!? Wait, wait, seven people are in the same room. The book—"

for the umpteenth time that Subaru was interrupted by a flash of light. The Kingdom's second Spirit Knight widened his eyes in realization.

"The spell! It has been activated!"

"Eh!? Subaru, the spell!?"

"What spell, cap'n!?"

"Natsuki-san! What is this light coming out of the book!?"

"What is this, I wonder!?"

"Barusu!"

"Subaru what kind of spell are talking about!?"

Knowing he had almost no time to argue. Subaru explained hastily.

"It's a dimensional traveling spell Flugel created and we met the necessary requirements to activate it! Hold on, everyone! It's gonna be a bumpy ride!"

"Subaru are we really doing this!?"

"Doin' what!?"

"I don't want to, Natsuki-san!"

"You don't have any choice, I suppose!"

"Barusu, we can't leave behind Rem! I can't allow this!"

Subaru bit his lip. Hearing Ram mention that she can't leave Rem behind.

Fortunately, Julius held Ram's hand with a grip strong enough to hold her down.

"Subaru, I'll hold Ram whatever spell is going off! We can't afford any mishaps that could consequently end our lives! I trust your words for this, my friend."

The man who returned by death looked at his fellow Spirit Knight and replied with a nod before the spell had finally gone off.

What hath made it so for these seven unfortunate souls to go to an alternate world? O what trials await these unwilling souls?

If you knew from my story "Watching Subaru Has Literally the Worst Time Ever the Anime,". I am glad to announce with one of two of the proposed fanfic projects has been released.

Now, with Subaru and six others being Isekaied to an alternate world I have a challenge for you guys who have any interest in it.

Challenge Story Title: Sword Demon and Shield Hero.

However, he was then transported to the world of Shield Hero in a body of his younger self during the Demi-Human War.
