A/N: Greetings. I have finally procured another chapter for my tale of the Seven Deadly Sins. :) Again, the credit goes to the author of the "Sin of Love" story for the Seven Deadly Sins. As for the choice of music, I found them nevertheless intriguing in more ways than one, so I implemented them in, because why not? Enjoy. :)

Chapter 1

Earlier, in the dark of night at the castle of Leones, Elizabeth stood helplessly next to her father as the traitorous Holy Knights attempted to break in the room.

"Open this door!", one of the holy knights shouted as he banged his fists against the door.

"There's no place left for you to run!", another exclaimed.

"Your Majesty!", another exclaimed.

"Now, your highness!", another shouted.

"Elizabeth, you must flee.", the king urged.

"I can't escape alone. You have to come with me, Father!", Elizabeth pleaded.

"I will be fine, my child.", the king assured.

"Yes, but...", Elizabeth spoke in worry.

"Go, before the holy knights find you.", the king urged to Elizabeth.

Then, a surge of lightning went across the door before it exploded just as Elizabeth looked back and closed the door in a sort of small secret passageway before running, shedding tears for her father. After that, it then showed the wandering rust knight appearing at the tavern as Hawk quivered with fear before Zarathos comforted him while Meliodas confronted them knight only for him to fall on the ground and be revealed as Princess Elizabeth, much to Zarathos and Meliodas' surprise before she was later fed the former's cooking as she took a bite.

Narrator: "Elizabeth, 3rd Princess of Leones, was driven away from the castle by the Holy Knight's traitorous uprising. To right this injustice, she searched for the legendary rebels, the Seven Deadly Sins."

"Oh, no. Is the food terrible?", Zar asked worriedly before Elizabeth started shedding tears, surprising them.

"No. It's delicious. More than I can say.", Elizabeth responded with happy tears.

Then, later, Elizabeth was running from Allioni and the holy knights, who were quickly attacked by Hawk before it then showed Zarathos slapping Meliodas in the back of his head, causing him to fall off the tree while Zar caught Elizabeth before Meliodas landed on the ground before Twigo angrily raised his sword as Meliodas stood as if he was about to swing his blade before Twigo swung his sword down into the ground and Meliodas swung his blade in the air, creating a blast that sent him into the air before Meliodas and Zarathos introduced themselves.

Narrator: "But the Princess was being pursued by the Holy Knights and just as she needed a helping hand, the boys from the tavern came to her rescue. These were no ordinary boys, however. They were the core members of the Seven Deadly Sins: Dragon Sin Meliodas and Demon Sin Zarathos!"

In the master bedroom of the Boar Hat, which was being carried by Hawk's mom, Elizabeth was not only looking out the window, but she was also still wearing the tight black suit from yesterday and it now had tears in it from that fight in the forest earlier as she smiled thinking back to yesterday when she found Meliodas and Zarathos, leading to her own curse being lifted.

"How is my curse lifted?", Elizabeth thought.

Then the door to the room opened showing Meliodas and Zarathos.

"Hey, Elizabeth.", Meliodas spoke.

"Uh, yes?", Elizabeth puzzled.

"Could you come downstairs for a minute?", Meliodas asked.

"Of course. But why?", Elizabeth responded.

Meliodas got a mischievous look on his face.

"You'll see.", Meliodas responded.

"So help me, if you try anything weird...", Zarathos began warning.

Then, Elizabeth had walked downstairs to see Meliodas standing next to one of the tables with a box on it.

"What's in the box?", Elizabeth asked as she was suspicious of the look she got from Meliodas.

"It's for you.", Meliodas responded as he turned to the box and opened it, giving her the clothes from inside it.

"Here. Go try them on and come back down, okay?", Meliodas requested before she nodded, turned, and went upstairs to change.

A minute later, Elizabeth was now wearing a pink sleeveless shirt, that revealed her midriff and was backless for her wings, a purple scarf, along with a black thigh high sock, also a short black skirt, and a pair of flats with one black and the other white.

"So what's this new outfit for?", Elizabeth asked, a little embarrassed.

"It's the tavern uniform.", Meliodas responded, giving a thumbs up.

"Ugh. Why am I not surprised?", Zarathos sighed.

"Yeah. Way to put your pervy thoughts on display, there, dude.", Hawk commented.

"Hey, the only woman I've ever looked at like this is Elizabeth. All the other girls pale in comparison to her.", Meliodas retorted while Elizabeth smiled at him.

"What do you mean 'other girls'?", Zarathos puzzled as Meliodas checked on Elizabeth at different points while she spoke next.

"While I'm waiting on tables, you want me to keep track of rumors and collect information about the possible whereabouts of the Seven Deadly Sins, right?", Elizabeth guessed.

"Some intel on the Holy Knights would be okay, too.", Meliodas responded before he was now standing behind her as he lifted up her skirt looking at her underwear, surprising Elizabeth for a second, although she was not really surprised.

"Oh, don't worry I'm just conducting a size check.", Meliodas smirked, infuriating both Hawk and Zarathos.

"WOULD IT KILL YOU TO STOP BEING SO PERVERSIVE, FOR ONCE?!", Zarathos exclaimed, slapping him by the cheek.

"Yeah! You're scaring away the one person who can help bring people in, Goddess or no!", Hawk exclaimed.

Elizabeth smiled coyly as she turned around, grabbing Meliodas' hand and pulling him closer.

"You know, you could have checked this morning if you stayed in bed.", Elizabeth commented seductively in his ear before Meliodas' eyes glittered with lust.

"Well, if I did that, I wouldn't have been able to see you wearing this.", Meliodas responded huskily.

"Oh, brother...", Zarathos sighed.

Then, the two of them were about to kiss when Hawk's mom suddenly stopped moving, which caused the building to shake before Meliodas caught the falling Elizabeth in a dip.

"Careful.", Meliodas spoke before kissing her lightly.

"Seriously, you two.", Hawk sighed, completely annoyed with them.

"Never a dull moment, is there?", Zarathos commented before Hawk's mom puffed out smoke from her nose.

"Hey, we're here. This is our next wellspring of information: Vanya Village.", Meliodas spoke as he pulled them out of their dip, and grabbed her hand before walking out the door with Hawk and Zarathos following them, closing it behind them.

Then, the group got off Hawk's mom, who then dug into the ground so deep that the only thing above was the Boar Hat.

After that, Meliodas, Elizabeth, Zarathos, and Hawk started walking toward the village.

"I usually buy my liquor from wherever I can find it, except for Zar, here, because he doesn't drink, but Vanya's stuff is special. The best water you can find's here in this village. And with the grout growing down by the river, it's used to brew Vanya Ale, especially the ginger ale, too. It's got fans far and wide.", Meliodas stated as he and the others are now standing on a bridge before Hawk noticed the fact that there was no water down there.

"Well, it used to. Now, those famous waters of theirs are bone-dry.", Hawk responded just as Zar and Elizabeth noticed the dying plants as well.

"And look. Those herbs along the bank are dead.", Elizabeth added.

"Just what the heck is going on over there?", Zarathos puzzled as he and Meliodas looked toward the village.

The four of them then walked to the middle of the village where people were gathered around.

"Just look at all the people out there in the square. Think it's some kind of festival?", Elizabeth asked.

"I don't know. It looks more like a gathering to me. Still, we'd better ask to make sure.", Zar commented.

"Hey, what's up, you guys?", Meliodas greeted.

"Huh? Oh it's the bar keep.", said one of the men.

"What's this festival for today?", Meliodas asked, inadvertently annoying the other man.

"Huh? This look like a darn festival to you? We're trying to pull a out sword that some Holy Knight jabbed in the ground.", the other man responded as the rest of the villagers were trying to pull said sword out of the ground.

"What? A Holy Knight did that?", Zar puzzled.

"He stuck it in the ground? Why'd he do that?", Meliodas asked before suddenly, the chief of the village walked over to Meliodas, Zarathos, Elizabeth, and Hawk.

"Days ago, a Holy Knight brought his wrath down upon us. He infused the sword with mana, pierced the ground, and locked away the water in our village.", the chief stated.

"If we don't do something about this soon, we'll lose our water and grout, too.", said one of the men who tried to pull out the sword.

"Then we won't have anymore Vanya Ale. Blast!", another man exclaimed.

"A Holy Knight. Think it might be that man you two defeated the other day?", Elizabeth asked.

"No, I don't think so. Strong as he is, I don't think even he's that powerful.", Zar responded.

"Yeah, Zar's right. That Twigo guy with the mustache? He wasn't a Holy Knight. Trust me. The real ones are a whole lot worse.", Meliodas responded.

"Will Meliodas and Zarathos do it for these people?", Elizabeth thought.

"Only a Holy Knight has the power necessary to draw a sword belonging to another.", the old man added.

"Or maybe even a demon. Trouble is, they don't know that. And I'm just not sure if they even should know that yet.", Zar thought.

"Breaking the news isn't going to be easy, but I'm afraid this village is done for." the old man said in despair.

"Oh, no.", Elizabeth spoke in worry.

"Aw, give me a break. What's the deal with all this moaning and groaning?", spoke the voice of a nasally boy from behind the group.

When the boy emerged, he had orange spiky hair and was wearing a cloak.

"It's Mead!", one of the villagers spoke.

"A Holy Knight's sword stuck in the ground is nothing. If my buddies, the Seven Deadly Sins, were here, that sword'd be gone by now." said the boy smugly.

"Well, I don't know what game he's playing at, but I think he might be right about that sword being nothing to me or the other sins. Still, could he really know them?", Zar puzzled in thought as Meliodas and Elizabeth looked quite surprised.

Suddenly, however, an old woman from the group of people shouted.

"Quiet, Mead! And whose fault is it that we're all in this predicament in the first place?! Of all the things to say, do you have to mention those criminals, too?", the woman berated.

"Yeah, she's right! We don't need to make the Holy Knight angrier!", one of the villagers agreed.

"Do you have a grudge against us or what, kid?!", another villager exclaimed.

"No. Come on! That's not the reason I did it.", said Mead, looking worried if not annoyed.

"We've had it with all your mischief and all your lying.", one villager spoke angrily.

"You're such a jerk!", said a girl throwing a rock in Mead's direction, but it missed and wound up hitting both Meliodas and Zarathos in the faces, although the former didn't flinch.

"How could they be so cruel!?", Elizabeth thought sadly.

"Hey! Do you mind watching where you're throwing that?!", Zar exclaimed annoyedly as Elizabeth looked shocked.

"Wow, I hate you guys!", Mead exclaimed.

"Well, guess what? We hate you even more, Mead!", a boy who was standing next to the girl who threw a rock at Mead but missed shouted.

Then, in their unreasonable anger, the villagers started throwing more rocks as Meliodas and Zarathos started pushing Mead towards the Boar hat while some of the rocks hit Meliodas and Zarathos as they ran, taking Mead with them.

"Why are they hitting us?", Meliodas thought as Mead ranted.

"Forget you! Forget all of you! You're nothing but jerks!", Mead angrily shouted.

"Stop it, all of you!", the chief from earlier shouted.

"And why should I?", one of the villagers retorted angrily.

"Because the way you're treating him is cruel even for you! You're better than this!", the chief responded in the same tone, shocking the villager as she gasped before then calming down, lowering her arm and dropping the rock.

"I'm so sorry. It's just that...we've all had a bad day ever since Sir Gilthunder came in and took away all the water and grout by planting his sword in the middle of town.", the villager sighed.

"Yes, yes, I know, but in spite of his mischievous pranks, he means well.", the chief assured.

"I know, but still...", the villager began.

"Sure looks like we picked a lousy time to come down here and hang out." said Hawk.

"Deep down inside, he's really an honest, well-meaning boy.", the old man spoke, looking at the path the boys took.

"Would you please tell me what could be going on with him?", Elizabeth asked the old man.

Back in the Boar Hat, Mead was sitting at one of the tables.

"Well, I've definitely done things that suck less. Tell me, kid. Why did they all...?", Meliodas began before Mead interrupted him.

"Don't call me that. You're a kid too.", Mead retorted.

"No, I'm really not, actually.", Meliodas responded.

"Yeah, if anything, he's way older than me.", Zar added.

"What is this? A tavern?", Mead asked.

"Yeah, the Boar Hat. It's our place.", Meliodas responded.

"Well, I'm hungry.", Mead responded.

"If you answer our questions, I'll make sure you get some food.", Meliodas spoke.

"Nope; food first.", Mead smirked, putting his hands behind his head, while Meliodas and Zarathos looked annoyed.

"Fine, but you're not going to like it.", Zar warned.

A few minutes later, Meliodas brought over a tray of food for Mead with an identical one from Zarathos while the former got a bottle of Vanya ale and poured it into a mug for himself as Zarathos did the same, only with Ginger Ale as a close second.

"This looks great, I can't wait to dig into this.", Mead spoke as he picked up a piece of food.

"You won't be saying that for long, trust me.", Zar added before Mead took a bite out of it and then spat it out in disgust.

"I never claimed it was going to be good.", Meliodas grinned.

"Het, I warned you it wouldn't taste good. How about trying my food? It's better than his cooking, that's for sure.", Zar offered.

"Heh. Yeah, right.", Mead scoffed before taking a bite of Zarathos' cooking, only this time, he did not spit it out, but instead gave a slightly surprised look and groaned in awe.

"So, what did you think?", Zar asked, catching Mead's attention before he swallowed.

"Well, it doesn't make me feel like spitting it out if that means anything.", Mead responded.

"So, is it true? All that stuff about you being friends with the Seven Deadly Sins?", Meliodas asked as he put his mug down.

"Hmm, your food gave me amnesia.", Mead responded before he then sniffed the air.

"Wait a minute. Are you drinking Vanya ale?", Mead asked before he looked at Meliodas who was drinking his mug as Zarathos did the same with his own mug.

"Hey, should a kid your age really be drinking that?", Mead asked.

"I already told you, I'm not a kid.", Meliodas responded as he put down his mug.

"And for the record, I'm the younger brother, and the ale I'm drinking is Ginger Ale. Not exactly as good as Vanya Ale, but it comes close.", Zar added.

"Man, it tastes really good, doesn't it?", Mead grinned.

"Yup.", Meliodas smiled.

"It's the most sweet, full bodied-mmm, or so I hear from the adults.", Mead said, feeling nervous at what he was saying.

"Hey. Whatever floats your boat.", Zar responded before the door to the Boar Hat opened with Elizabeth and Hawk walking in.

"Oh. You two made it back.", Meliodas grinned.

"Home sweet home.", Hawk sighed, closing the door.

"So, Mead, I hear you're quite the prankster with a bad sense of humor. The chief in your told me so.", Elizabeth spoke, making Mead a bit nervous and raising her index finger.

"What's it time you? Who do you think you are, my mother?", Mead said, annoyed.

"WHAT DO YOU THINK?!", Zarathos exclaimed angrily, scaring Mead.

"Oh. Sorry about that. You'll have to excuse my temper. I tend to get annoyed with comments like that. Anyway, to rephrase, she may not be your mother, but in a sense, I think she really cares about you ever since what happened just now. And I was there, so that's saying something.", Zar added before Elizabeth knelt on the ground next to him.

"When I was young, I used to get scolded by my father for pulling pranks.", Elizabeth spoke.

"Yeah. And that means what to me?", Mead asked.

"I really wanted his attention. He wasn't the father I was born to.", Elizabeth began before Mead had a surprised expression on his face before it showed a flashback with young Elizabeth, and her father, the king, at one point.

"And one day, when I was a little girl, I climbed a really tall tree in the garden, hoping to give him a good scare. He turned pale as a ghost and started up the tree to try and save me. This man who had never climbed a tree in his entire life. And then he fell out of the tree and hurt himself, but luckily, it wasn't serious. But still..., I remember every minute of it like it was yesterday. If he died, I know that I never could've forgiven myself." said Elizabeth thinking back to her past as a princess as she climbed a tree, prompting her father to climb up after her only to end up in bed with Elizabeth feeling something awful for him.

"I don't do this kind of stuff because I don't feel for 'em. They're all really good to me." Mead looked down at the table.

"Why do you?", asked Elizabeth.

Then, Mead began relaying his story as it showed a flashback of his parents before then showing the villagers paying their respects to his parents at their graves as well as Mead getting happy to be included before later noticing that he was practically invisible.

"My Mom and Dad were always going from place to place. I was even born on the road. But when we stopped by in Vanya a few years ago, there was an epidemic. Then, they got sick and died. That's when the people of the village took me in and raised me as one of their very own, and I was so thankful they did, but I wasn't a part of anyone's real family.", Mead explained as tears started to come out of his eyes.

"I got jealous, 'cause I knew I'd never get what they had. I started lying and pulling pranks.", Mead continued, starting to break into tears.

"Is that why you put the bug in the Holy Knight's drink, too? 'Cause you were upset?", Elizabeth asked.

"NO! I did it because the knight treated everyone in the village like they were crap!", Mead shouted, slamming his fists on the table.

"Wait, he did what?", Zar puzzled worriedly before it showed a flashback of the chief pouring his finest ale into a glass for Gilthunder.

"Our village is very proud of this year's brew. We truly believe it's our best one yet.", the chief assured as he finished before stepping back, allowing Gilthunder to take a sip only to stop and insult them.

"Disgusting. I'd rather drink horse radish juice than than more of this swill.", Gilthunder spoke coldly, shocking the villagers, urging Mead to action before he put the bug in Gilthunder's drink, only inciting him to silent anger as the glass shattered on the ground before he then drew his sword from his scabbard.

"No, no, don't!", the villager spoke in worry.

"Please! Forgive the boy, sir!", the chief pleaded, only for his plea to fall to deaf ears as the sword sparked before he then slammed the sword down blade first straight into the center of town, shocking the villagers, not literally.

"We just care so much about it. Everyone in the village put their heart and soul into making that ale, but he insulted them. Holy Knights are no-good monsters!", Mead finished.

"That's one thing we can agree on. Tell me something, though. That Holy Knight who did this. Can you tell me what he looked like?", Zar asked.

"Well, he had pink hair and blue eyes. Why's that matter?", Mead puzzled, shocking Zarathos as he gasped.

"Hold on. You know him?", Mead puzzled.

"That man was Gilthunder. But why would he do that? This isn't like him at all.", Zarathos spoke.

"So, you mean you knew him before now?", Mead asked.

"Yeah. The last time we saw each other was 10 years ago. Back then, he wasn't as cold-blooded as he is now.", Zar explained.

"So, what do you think happened to him that made him, you know, bad?", Mead asked.

"I'm not exactly sure. All I know is that something must've happened to him and we're going to find out what.", Zar responded before Meliodas looked at the kid from over his mug.

"So, speaking of finding out, what about saying you're good friends with the Seven Deadly Sins?", Meliodas asked.

"Well, I lied.", Mead spoke sadly.

"Too bad. Gotta admit, I kinda had my hopes up.", Meliodas commented.

"What made you tell a lie like that?", Elizabeth asked.

"The Seven Deadly Sins are wanted by the Holy Knights, aren't they? If the Holy Knights are going after them, doesn't that mean the Seven Deadly Sins are the good guys?", Mead asked.

"Actually, it kinda does.", Zar thought.

Then, Elizabeth and Hawk looked at each other.

"Oink...", Hawk spoke in awe before turning to Meliodas, who was finishing what was left in his mug.

"What?", Meliodas puzzled, noticing the two of them looking at him before Elizabeth smiled and kissed him on the cheek as she giggled slightly.

Hawk and Mead looked at them with looks of disgust as Zar gave a surprised grin.

Then, all of a sudden, there were loud noises outside.

"That's coming from the village!", Mead realized before running out the door.

"Mead, wait!", Elizabeth spoke before Mead already took off.

"You know what you have to do, right?", Elizabeth asked before Meliodas put down his mug.

"Yep.", Meliodas replied as he stood up and walked out the door while Zarathos and Elizabeth followed behind.

"Same here. It's high time I get some answers about why Gilthunder's acting so strange, anyway, even if it means confronting him in person.", Zar agreed.

Chapter 2

Meanwhile, the villagers were cornered by two Holy Knights, although they weren't really Holy Knights, so much aa standard soldiers, or grunts.

"Now, listen up, you peasant scum! If you haven't pulled out the Holy Knight's sword by sundown, then we're gonna charge you 10 times the normal product tax.", the grunt announced.

"That's insane!", one of the villagers responded.

"With all the water dried up, we can't even make one bottle of ale, much less ten times that amount!", another villager complained.

"That's your punishment! Not only did you insult a holy knight, you also claimed to be friends with those known criminals, the Seven Deadly Sins.", another grunt spoke.

"Blast! If Mead hadn't pulled this stunt, this wouldn't have happened!", the villager complained angrily just before Mead ran in and tried to pull out the sword himself, much to the puzzlement of the grunts and the worry of the villagers.

"Mead, no!", the woman pleaded.

"The little big mouth. It isn't gonna be any fun at all if he's the only one.", the first grunt spoke.

"So, we're gonna charge twenty times the tax now.", the second grunt added.

"You know you can't pull out that sword!", the villager shouted to Mead.

"Stop it, kid! You're only making things worse for us!", another added before the chief shouted.

"All right! That's enough!", the chief shouted before the villagers turned towards him as he walked forward.

"Chief.", the villager spoke.

"Who insulted our great skills and wounded our pride as ale makers? Was it Mead? No. Wasn't that boy only expressing the feelings we were all feeling deep down inside?", the chief asked.

Meanwhile, Mead was still trying to pull the sword out by himself only for the woman to place her hands on Mead to help him, puzzling the boy.

"Auntie, why...?", Mead began.

"The village chief is right about this. You aren't the one to blame, Mead.", Mead's Aunt grinned before the girl and boy from before went over to Mead as well before even the men realized that helping him might be their best shot as one of them stepped forward.

"Hey! You people hear what we said?! Pour the beer out of your ears! It's twenty times, now!", the grunt shouted as the village's strongest men went toward Mead.

"You just leave this to the men folk.", the villager assured before Mead's Aunt and the two kids stepped back, allowing the men to step in and help Mead.

"Okay, Mead.", the man spoke as Mead was still trying to pull the sword out with the men looking back at each other and grinning.

"Okay.", another villager spoke before a rope was tied to the hilt of the sword before everyone started pulling on the sword.

"Do it!", one of the men spoke as they heaved as best they could just as Elizabeth, Meliodas, and Zarathos arrived just in time to notice that Mead had gathered people from around the village to try and pull out the sword with rope tied around it.

"Heh. That kid doesn't know when to quit. I can respect that.", Zar grinned before he proceeded forward.

Meanwhile, the two standard soldiers sitting on a well covered in wood were drinking as their faces were now shown to be pink.

"Ha ha, it won't even move a fraction of an inch!", said one of the soldiers.

"We're going to sit here chugging this cheap stuff and enjoy the show.", the other grunt spoke, just listening to the sound of the villagers struggling, making Zarathos tense from the sight.

"Laugh while you can. It's not going to last for long and I'm going to make sure of it.", Zar thought.

Meanwhile, the villagers were still struggling to get the sword out.

"Come out!", Mead exclaimed before shouting at the top of his lungs in exertion, making the soldiers laugh like crazy, even making one of them slap his knees.

"Wow, he looks so desperate!", one of the soldiers shouted.

"What a bunch of morons!", another agreed before Zarathos gave a vicious glare as his eyes glowed bright purple.

"That's enough out of you!", Zarathos growled before a chain wrapped in flames suddenly appeared and snatched the mugs quickly just as the two of them were about to drink from their mugs when suddenly they were no longer holding them.

Then, the mugs were given to Meliodas, who stood next to the grunts, now holding both mugs as the chain wrapped in flames vanished.

"Hey, what happened?", the other grunt puzzled.

"Anyone who doesn't appreciate good quality booze doesn't deserve to drink it.", Meliodas commented.

"Hear, hear, brother. Hear, hear.", Zar spoke as he kept on walking towards the crowd of people as Elizabeth shook her head fondly at his behavior.

After a moment, the people suddenly fell back, creating a cloud of dust before Zarathos walked through the crowd and spoke to Mead, who was now on the ground.

"That was a really brave thing you did, Mead. You can leave this to me.", Zar spoke as he walked to the sword.

"As for you, Holy Knights?", Zar spoke as he grabbed the sword's hilt.

"Even of you are only standard soldiers, the suffering you've caused in this village ends now.", Zar spoke before he pulled the sword out of the ground with ease.

The people of the village looked surprised at Zarathos, who was able to hold a sword used by a Holy Knight.

"Impossible...! Only a Holy Knight can pull that sword out.", said one of the grunts.

"Or a demon. Did you even think to consider that?", Zar retorted, causing the soldiers to gasp before suddenly, his right sleeve tore up from bottom to top, revealing his demon skull sigil on his shoulder just before the sword suddenly became coated in purple flames.

"No, it can't be...! You're kidding me, right?!", the first grunt exclaimed in shock before his hair turned into purple flames.

"That looks like..., but it couldn't, though, maybe, it could! Is that..., it...i-i-it really is!", the other grunt spoke before Zarathos turned around, showing his fearsome glare as his eyes were now bright purple.

"Zarathos!", the two soldiers spoke in shock.

"Hold on, what? That guy's really the Sin of Vengeance?", one villager puzzled.

"But isn't he one of those criminals?", another puzzled.

"Yeah, well, would a criminal pull out a sword for us? Not a chance in heck.", another commented as the soldiers quivered in fear.

Then, all of a sudden, there was a rumbling in the ground.

"What's that sound?", asked the fat knight.

The two of them were then suddenly blasted off the well as a fountain of water shot out of it. All of the people looked at the water, happy that it had been returned to them as it shimmered a rainbow. Then, Zarathos now stood in front of the two grunts, still holding the sword.

"You dare cause suffering in this village by cutting off its water supply and creating a massive inflation of taxes and uphold yourselves as holy knights? How disgraceful. If you don't want your lives taken, I'd suggest you run. Now.", Zarathos glared.

"Yeah, I'd take him up on that offer if I were you.", Meliodas advised before the soldiers ran away in fear.

Then, Elizabeth, who stood at the back of the crowd, smiled at Zarathos, who then reverted back to normal with the flames on the sword dissipating before he set the blade down gently.

"He's incredible. The power of the Seven Deadly Sins... Not surprising since his brother was once known as the next demon king.", Elizabeth thought.

"Hey, mister, that was amazing! Are you really...?", Mead began as he walked up to Zarathos, who interrupted.

"The Sin of Vengeance? Yeah, that's me. But you can call me Zar. So, I guess that means you made friends with one of the seven deadly sins, huh?", Zar grinned, surprising Mead with awe.

"As for me, I'm Meliodas, and I'm the proprietor of a fine drinking establishment. It's true.", Meliodas responded as he put his right hand over one of his seven hearts.

"Wait, so there are two sins, now?!" Mead said, excited.

"Yeah, but that's not important right now.", Zar responded.

"Yeah. Isn't there something you need to be doing?", Meliodas asked, looking behind Mead, who turned around to see the people of the village.

"Look, Mead. We were wrong. Can you ever forgive us for treating you that way?", the village chief asked.

"But what right do I have to forgive you? It's not like I'm part of the village.", Mead responded sadly, looking down when Meliodas ushered him forward.

"Go on.", Meliodas urged.

"Hey! What do you mean go on? After all, I really don't belong here.", Mead spoke as he began to feel sad before Zar retorted.

"Really? I wouldn't be so sure.", Zar responded with a smirk as people of the village started to call out his name.

He then ran to hug the village chief as he cried.

"You can lie to yourself all you want, but there's no way you'll be able to fool your own heart.", Meliodas spoke before he felt someone hold his right hand and looked to see it was Elizabeth smiling at him and he smiled at her as well. He pulled up their joined hands and kissed her hand, causing her to smile even brighter.

"I love you, My Demon Prince.", Elizabeth grinned.

"And I love you, My Goddess Princess.", Meliodas responded with a smile.

"I know you two are great for each other, but why don't you guys get a room?", Zar commented.

Later that night on the hill where the Boar Hat currently is, the people of Vanya Village were celebrating.

"To Meliodas, Zarathos, and the Boar Hat! Cheers!", one of the men cheered as he and the others pressed their mugs against each other.

Inside the tavern, Meliodas, Zar, and Elizabeth were standing in the back room.

"I, uh, I'm not really sure if I'm ready. I'm pretty sure I was a waitress in one of my past lives, but this is my first time in this body.", Elizabeth spoke.

"I think I understand, but could you just say that again, but slower?", Meliodas asked.

"What are you doing with her, you pervert?", Hawk berated before Elizabeth looked amused at what Meliodas said as she leaned closer to his ear and whispered.

"Maybe later. If you're good.", Elizabeth spoke before Meliodas blushed bright red and then smirked.

"You know for a goddess, you sure know how to play dirty.", Meliodas commented before Elizabeth just looked at him with a smirk of her own.

"Well, I did have a demon teach me how to flirt.", Elizabeth responded.

"All right, all right, you two can continue that later. It's rude to keep people waiting, you know.", Zar spoke.

"He's right, you two! This isn't the time! We have customers waiting.", Hawk agreed, looking annoyed at the two of them before Meliodas turned to Zar and the aggravated pig.

"Alright, guys! They can be such a killjoy sometimes. Anyway, tell you what. Just focus on your waitressing today. Don't worry about gathering any intel. Stay relaxed. That's the most important thing.", Meliodas spoke as he then leaned against the counter.

"Are you really sure you can do that, though, Elizabeth? It has been a long time.", Zar puzzled.

"I can do that. I've been around for over 3,000 years. I can handle anything.", Elizabeth responded with a determined look on her face.

At first, Elizabeth fumbled the order as she tripped and the mug then landed on top of the villager's hair.

"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry about that.", Elizabeth apologized as she bowed quickly before speaking with another customer.

"You didn't order this? Then, who's...?", Elizabeth asked.

"I'm over here.", one of the villagers spoke, raising his hand.

"Okay.", Elizabeth grinned.

Luckily, though, as Elizabeth walked around the bar with trays, memories of her past lives reminded her of times she did something like it as this time, before she could trip, she managed to get the footing right and set it down on the table before she grinned.

"Well, she's a fast learner, isn't she?", Zar grinned.

After a while, she stood near the entrance of the Boar Hat watching while everyone celebrated.

"Wow! I woulda thought that you hadn't worked hard a day in your life.", a voice spoke before Elizabeth turned to see it was Mead who had spoken to her.

"What?", Elizabeth puzzled.

"Nothing. It's just that for a while, it looked like you suck at it, but you're actually a pro at this job. I was just wondering, though... Are those wings real?", Mead asked, pointing to the wings coming out of her back.

"Oh. Well, yes. They are. You see, I'm a goddess.", Elizabeth answered as her eyes turned into the symbol of the goddess clan with a single blink.

"Wow, really?", Mead asked, amazed before his aunt came up behind him.

"Now, that's enough. It's not polite to ask someone about their personal business, you know. Children who get too big for their britches get taken out and left in the Forest of White Dreams.", Mead's Aunt warned.

"Oh, no! Not there!", Mead exclaimed, scared before Elizabeth had a curious look on her face.

"Forest of White Dreams?", Elizabeth puzzled.

"It's a place so spooky, even Holy Knights won't travel through it.", Mead responded before he then turned back to the old woman with his hands together.

"Oh, Auntie. I promise I'll be good! I'll behave! Anything but do that!", Mead pleaded as his aunt had a smile on her face.

"And just why should I believe you?", Mead's aunt smirked.

"I promise! I swear!", Mead swore.

"Don't try putting one over on me. I've got my eye on you.", Mead's aunt responded as Elizabeth smiled at the two of them before she looked out the window, thinking of the people of Britannia.

Meanwhile, in Fort Solgres, a holy knight was reporting to Gilthunder as a raven watched.

"O-Only moments ago, we received a report from our soldiers at Vanya Village. They say that Zarathos, the Demon Sin of Vengeance has pulled your sword from the ground, Sir Gilthunder.", the knight spoke before Sir Gilthunder, son of late Grandmaster Zaratras, looked up at the news, his sword still not back in his possession since that move he pulled, and then proceeded to the top of the fort as the knight continued to speak.

"I don't know why he chose to appear here of all places, and that wasn't even the first time that...", the knight continued before Gil cut in.

"So Zarathos was also the sin who bested Twigo for trying to "accidentally" kill Princess Elizabeth?", Gilthunder guessed.

"Y-Yes, sir. And he's not alone. There was an unidentifiable young boy along with him. He even considers him to be his brother.", the knight reported as he followed Gil to a room with a large window at the top of the fort.

"Really? Give me the range and heading to this village. Be very exact.", Gilthunder requested.

"Yes, sir! It's on a direct line with the fort's four-o'clock. Distance: 7.3 miles.", the knight responded before Gil turned to another guard stationed in the room.

"Would you mind terribly if I used your spear?", Gil requested.

"No, sir. Please, do.", the guard responded as he handed it to Gil, who picked it up and walked over to the window.

"Should be about this angle.", Gil spoke before he raised the spear and charged it with blue electricity and before long, the room was filled with light and the sound of sparks, making the other knights gasp.

Then, Gil stepped forward and threw the spear out the open window. It shot across the sky like a shooting star, glinting in the night and leaving a trail in its wake.

Back at the Boar Hat, Meliodas was behind the counter cleaning a mug before he and Zarathos blinked, sensing something.

"What was that?", Meliodas asked.

"I don't know, but I think I sensed something headed this way.", Zar responded before Hawk approached the counter.

"Shouldn't you guys see what's up? We just had a goddess run out of here.", Hawk spoke.

"Really? What happened?", Zar asked before Meliodas put down the mug he was cleaning.

"Wouldn't you like to know? So, aren't you guys going to see what's wrong?", Hawk asked.

"Hmm, gotta go pee.", Meliodas responded walking outside the Boar Hat.

"Well, at least, I'll go check on her.", Zar spoke before he went out another way as Hawk watched them both leave.

"Man. Zar may be a good kid, but the boss is a total slacker. Guess I'm the one in charge of bringing home the bacon around here now.", Hawk sighed.

Outside at the hill, Elizabeth was sitting near the edge of the hill the Boar Hat was on when Zar and Meliodas went to her as she heard footsteps and turned to see them.

"Oh, Sir Meliodas. And Zarathos.", Elizabeth spoke.

"Hey.", Meliodas spoke.

"What's wrong?", Zar asked.

"I'm sorry. I know I'm supposed to be working or , but when I saw Mead and the villagers, it brought up a lot of memories I have of my father.", Elizabeth spoke as Zar sat down next to Elizabeth while Meliodas turned around and focused his gaze into the night sky.

"Is that right.", Meliodas spoke.

"I just hope he's okay.", Elizabeth spoke.

"Me, too, but he is king for a reason, isn't he? It might take more than an assault of his traitorous soldiers to keep him down.", Zar grinned.

"Around here, maybe...", Meliodas spoke to himself.

"I shouldn't do this. It's no time to mope around feeling homesick.", Elizabeth spoke.

"A little more to the left...?", Meliodas spoke, looking around.

"But I've seen so many good people oppressed by the Holy Knights. I know that they're suffering and with a princess like me, their chances don't seem too good.", Elizabeth spoke.

"Well, princess or no, you're a goddess, too. That's something.", Zar grinned.

"I know we're both powerful, but is that even enough to take back the whole kingdom...even if we're able to find the rest of the Sins?", s

Elizabeth wondered with a worried look on her face.

"Well, you found us, didn't you?", Meliodas asked as he smiled at her.

"Come on, if you hadn't been trying everything you could to help your people and then stumbled into our place, you'd have no chance at all.", Meliodas responded.

"Yeah, and you wouldn't have had your own curse lifted.", Zar added.

"So, don't worry. We'll find the others. Then the Sins will rescue the royal family and the people of Britannia.", Meliodas assured with a grin before his face then turned serious as he looked to the sky.

"And right now, there's something I need to do.", Meliodas spoke.

Elizabeth was curious, if not, concerned at his ominous words.

"What's that?", Elizabeth asked just before, in the sky, a blue light shone from a spear surrounded by lightning, which was flying fast towards the direction of the village and as it passed Meliodas, he grabbed onto it.

The spear started going down the mountain, cutting into it as it left behind a cloud of dust, dragging Meliodas along with it.

"BE CAREFUL, MELIODAS!", Zar shouted.

"SIR MELIODAS, NO!", Elizabeth shouted as she watched the spear pull him down to the ground.

Emerging from the bottom of the mountain, the spear, with Meliodas still holding onto it, approached the village and started going through house after house as Meliodas held the spear before it ripped off his left sleeve, revealing his dragon tattoo, before he spun around, digging his feet into the ground as he held the spear before he turned around just as the spear finally stopped as Meliodas leaned his head back before he opened his eyes, which briefly went dark as a dark symbol forged on his head, going over his right eye, and did a quick spin before throwing the spear straight into the sky faster than the time it reached the village, returning from where it was thrown from before Meliodas' eyes went back to normal as the symbol disappeared.

At Fort Solgres, Gil looked up at the window back at the tower as the spear streaked through the window with a crash. Dust poured out of the window as the tower shook and crumbled to pieces and the smoke cleared as a red-eyed raven flew off, cawing into the distance.

A knight waded through the smoke, looking for Gil.

"Sir Gilthunder! Are you alright? Sir Gil...", the knight shouted before he gasped in surprise as he came across a chair where Gilthunder was still sitting. His cheek dripping blood from where the spear had grazed his cheek, the spear was thankfully stuck in the back of the chair as Gilthunder smiled.

"It's just as I thought. You're alive, aren't you, Meliodas?", Gil smirked.

Meanwhile, at Vanya Village, looking at the hand that held the spear, there was a faint mark left behind on his hand.

"I'm so glad we found you!", shouted Elizabeth.

Looking up, Meliodas saw Elizabeth flying as Zar and Hawk proceeded on foot just below before she landed in front of him next to Zarathos and Hawk.

"Are you alright? And why did you let that spear drag you? You could have just stopped it without even trying.", Zar commented as Meliodas was trying to hide his hand from her.

"I'm fine, and I was just trying to get a feeling about where to send it back to. You also forget that my curse is only weakened, not broken.", Meliodas spoke.

"Oh. Yeah. Forgot about that.", Zar spoke.

"I'll let the spear dragging you thing go, but if you're so sure that you're fine, then you have no reason to keep your hands behind your back, do you?", Elizabeth asked with her eyebrow raised.

Meliodas looked sheepish and gave her his slightly burned hand.

"Geez, man. You gotta be more careful than this. And you at least need to tell us when you're injured.", Zar scolded as Elizabeth healed his hand and then kissed it before he gave her hand a kiss as well.

The group then got back to the problem and inspected the damage.

"At least no one else was injured. Still...that energy emanating from the spear. Do you think the guy who threw that might be Sir Gilthunder?", Zar asked.

"Probably so. I think that's our cue to leave here as soon as we can.", Meliodas responded.

"But what about the people of the village?", Zar pointed out.

"Yeah. What if Vanya Village was attacked again?", Elizabeth asked.

"I think they'd be in a lot more danger if we were to stay.", Meliodas guessed as people inspected the damage.

"It'd be nice if we could find someplace to hide out.", Hawk wished.

"Wait a minute.", Elizabeth spoke as she put her finger under her chin.

"Oink?", Hawk puzzled.

"What is it?", Zar asked.

"Earlier tonight, Mead said he'd do anything not to be taken to the Forest of White Dreams. In fact, he said even Holy Knights steer clear of the place.", Elizabeth responded.

"Really? Sounds good to me.", Hawk spoke.

"That settles it, then. Except that we're not going to be hiding out. 'Cause we're going to be doing exactly what we should.", Meliodas responded as he placed his right fist in his left hand.

"What do you mean by that?", Hawk wondering what Meliodas meant when Elizabeth then looked surprised.

"You don't think?", she asked, getting excited before Meliodas smiled at her and turned to her.

"Yep, and I bet one of us is living there.", Meliodas responded before Elizabeth grinned.

Then, the four three of them later returned to the Boar Hat and Hawk's mom emerged from the ground carrying it before the giant green pig started leaving the village.

"Okay, time to find another Sin.", Meliodas spoke from the inside or the Boar Hat.

"Right!", Elizabeth agreed.

"The sooner we find one, the better.", Zar agreed.

As the giant green pig left, the people of Vanya Village waved goodbye.

A/N: So, what did you think about the chapter? Pretty great, huh? So, how would you suggest that the next episode of the story would go differently next week? I'm sure it'll be great. Until next time. :)
