Hey everybird! What's up!?

So first off Happy Fourth of July to every American, I hope that despite these trying and dark times, you're still hanging on! Things will be better guys, for there is always the light at the end of the tunnel!

So yeah happy 244th birthday America! (Still can't believe the country isn't 300 years old yet…)

And of course to celebrate the day, here's a special little one shot, which by the way isn't related to any of my other stories, just to avoid confusion, you'll see what I mean!

Today was the Fourth of July and in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, that day didn't mean much, except for one specific family or well half a family…

That part of the family was the last Blue Spix macaws in the world, along with a Scarlet macaw and a certain human female as the feathered part of the family was inside a small human built house on the edge of the jungle surrounding the coastal city.

"Another pancake ready!" The Scarlet announced as he flipped the flat tasty breakfast treat high into the air as it landed onto a plate.

"Toppings away!" A male Blue macaw called back as he kicked some blueberries like soccer balls onto the flat sweet disk. "We're getting better and better at this Alex."

"You said it Blu." The Scarlet, Alex, replied back to Blu as breakfast was just about done as a female Blue macaw was just rolling her eyes at the display.

"I'll still never understand this…" The female sighed.

"Oh come on Jewel, don't be like that." Blu replied as he came to the female's side, giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"Yeah, Tiago and Tia like our pancakes, which by the way where are those two troublemakers…" Alex remembering that there were two smaller birds missing here…

"Here we are Uncle Alex!" Alex heard the voice of a girl say loudly as Alex looked above to see Tia, Tiago not with her.

"Tia, where's your brother…" Alex asked as Blu and Jewel were also looking up at their daughter and not paying attention below when all of a sudden a loud honk sounded right behind Alex, scaring him as he tipped and his face went right into a pancake on a plate… That had whipped cream on top… "Tiago!"

"Got you Uncle Alex!" Tiago laughed as well Alex lifted up his head, his face having the creamy substance all over as Tia also burst out laughing from above, even Blu and Jewel found it hard not to laugh.

"Oh haha… Very funny…" Alex said as he cleaned the cream off of his face. "Okay, lets just get to breakfast and I'm not eating the pancake my face fell on." Alex stated clearly as the family began their breakfast.

While eating, both Tiago and Tia were excited, for of course they knew today is the Fourth of July, but they were not interested in the actual holiday itself, but the little Fireworks display both Blu and Alex, with their former human caretaker, Linda, who was also living in the city now, had planned for the day.

"So when are we doing the Fireworks display daddy?" Tia asked her father, eager to get going on that.

"Tonight sweetie and as I said before to you and your brother, your grandmom Linda, Uncle Alex, and I will be handling the display, can't have you hurt with all those pyrotechnics around." Blu told his daughter.

"But dad, we're old enough, can't we help light the rockets?" Tiago pleaded.

"No buts mister, it's not safe for little ones like you and your sister." Alex not changing his mind.

"Your father and uncle are right kids, best to stay back with me while they handle things tonight." Jewel told her kids as both Tiago and Tia were disappointed they were not going to get to have some real fun tonight.

After breakfast, Tiago and Tia flew back to the birdhouses the family lived in, on the small deck next to the residences as they talked about what they were going to do.

"We got to do something bro, we waited long enough and I want to see those colorful explosions now." Tia complained.

"Yeah I know, but dad and Uncle Alex have them hidden and we don't know where …" Tiago began thinking. "They wouldn't hide them in the house or else we would have found them by now, we should wait until they talk about it."

"And how do we go about doing that?" Tia asking as she had no idea what Tiago was thinking.

"Just follow me lead." Tiago told his sister.

A few hours later…

After Tiago told his sister to follow his lead, the two flew back inside, watching some TV in the living room before falling asleep and well soon enough someone came by and saw them.

"Awww…" Blu smiled seeing his two kids asleep on the couch. "They're cute when they're not trying to scare me and Alex." Blu commented.

"I heard that." Alex's voice came as he landed down besides Blu. "Hope they don't stay asleep all day and night, I'm sure they wouldn't want to miss the Fireworks display."

"Speaking of which, you remember that you have to go to Luiz to pick them up right?" Blu reminding his brother.

"Of course I do…" Alex nervously replied, obviously having forgotten, Blu not buying his brother's fake attempt to lie. "Okay fine! I forgot, but I'll go later today." Alex telling Blu.

"Good, well before that, how about we go visit Linda at her bookstore." Blu suggested as the two left the sleeping kids on the couch, only both Tiago and Tia were not sleeping…

"Great idea brother, they didn't suspect a thing." Tia commented.

"Thanks, now come on lets get to Luiz and get those fireworks." Tiago told his sister as the two flew out of the house, into the city, arriving at a small mechanic shop, where a bulldog was sound asleep on the ground just outside the shop, enjoying the warm sun that was beating down.

"Hey Uncle Luiz!" Tia said loudly as the messy dog snapped wide awake, his drool flying all over as the two little birds had to dodge out of the way of the flying saliva.

"What!? Who's there?" Luiz barked as his eyes were still closed, his flying saliva stopping as both Tiago and Tia flew down, forcing the dog's eyes to open up as Luiz saw them. "Oh, hey kids, what can this canine do for you?"

"We came to pick up the fireworks for the display tonight." Tiago explained. "Dad and Uncle Alex sent us."

"Are you sure about that?" Luiz asked, not sure that sounded like those two.

"Oh come on Uncle Luiz, can't you give us a few at least, and besides we'll be helping them carry the rockets back to the house, they wouldn't have to carry as much." Tia pointing out.

"Guess you have a point…" Luiz shrugged as he turned around. "Okay, come on, they're in the back." Luiz guided the two kids into the back of the shop as Luiz uncovered a hidden box full of all kinds of fireworks rockets, which both Tiago and Tia smiled at the sight of them.

"Thanks Uncle Luiz." Tiago thanked the bulldog as he started grabbing onto as many rockets as he could by, clutching onto the sticks attached to the actual rockets with his talons.

After taking as many as the two little ones could carry, they once again thanked Luiz before leaving for home, setting a plan in motion.

"So what are we going to do with these fireworks?" Tiago asked his sister.

"I think I have an idea…" Tia replied, thinking of how the two would have their own fun today…

Meanwhile, some time after Tiago and Tia came to Luiz, Alex came by to pick up the fireworks from the bulldog, after having spent some time with Blu and Linda, the three enjoying some festive treats Linda made for the holiday. Arriving at the small mechanic shop and needing to wake up Luiz again in a similar manner to how Tiago and Tia did, Luiz took Alex to the box filled with the rockets.

"Hey thanks again for keeping these here Luiz." Alex told the bulldog. "Keeping them away from Tiago and Tia was important.

"Oh, I thought they knew that too." Luiz confused.

"What?" Alex raising an eye.

"Well, they came by awhile ago, took a few of the rockets with them, I assumed you sent them here." Luiz clearing things up.

"No and this is not good…" Alex said as he knew those two were up to no good. "Better get back home and find Blu…"

So Alex, with the rest of the rockets, flew back home as fast as he could, setting down the fireworks inside the house before going out to see if Blu was at the site where they would launch the rockets. Alex pushed back the light green foliage, to the site and well found Blu…

"Alex, don't move!" Blu told his brother as Alex didn't pay attention and went to go free his brother who was upside down, being hung by a thin rope tied around his leg.

"Blu, what happ… Woah!" Alex started to say, but was interrupted as something wrapped around one of his own legs, ending up in the same situation as Blu.

"I told you not to move…" Blu sighed at Alex.

"Well, you could have been more specific!" Alex complained. As he felt the blood rushing to his head. "Whoever you are, show yourself!" Alex called out as laughing greeted him and well Tiago appeared, coming out from the foliage

"Wow, Tia's idea worked better than I thought it would." Tiago commented as of course from Alex and Blu's view, the little bird was upside down.

"Tiago Gunderson, you put me and your Uncle Alex down this instant!" Blu sternly told his son.

"Oh come on dad, if I did that, Tia and I will miss out on our fun." Tiago smiled as both Blu and Alex looking at each other didn't like the sound of the little one's tone.

"What do you mean Tiago…" Alex narrowing his eyes as Tiago parted the foliage down for the older adults to see what he was talking about…

There was Tia, with the rockets she and her brother took from Luiz, all ready to fire as a couple of them had ropes wrapped around them… The same ropes that held Blu and Alex as Tia held a lit match at the ready.

"Okay sis, light them!" Tiago shouted as both Blu and Alex struggled to get loose, as Tia lit the linked fuse, the fuse starting to travel its way to ignite the rockets, Tia stepping back a little, joining her brother.

"Tiago, Tia, you get us down right now!" Alex demanded.

"Not a chance Uncle Alex…" Tia ignoring her uncle's demands.

"Tiago and Tia Gunderson, you two get us out or…" Blu started, but well couldn't finish as the fuse reached the rockets, lighting them as the rockets blasted off very quickly at hundreds of miles put hour, taking both Blu and Alex with them as all the two brothers could do was hang on and scream as they were launched against their will into the skies above.

"Happy Fourth of July dad and Uncle Alex!" Tiago shouted at them as the kids watched their own little display go off as Blu and Alex were freed and well ended up making a rough landing near Tiago and Tia, with some feathers having turned black from the powder packed into each rocket.

"Next Fourth of July, we're just going to do a picnic…" Blu panted out as he was laying down on the jungle dirt with Alex next to him.

"I couldn't agree any more…" Alex replied as he didn't want to experience what he just did again…

And there we go!

A nice, little one shot for today, which I hoped you enjoyed! And you know I wonder what would happen if Tiago did have a sister like Tia… It would just mean twice the trouble for both Blu and Jewel, especially if Alex didn't exist at the same time!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go watch Independence Day to celebrate today!

See everybird later!
