It was the opening night of Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical.

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts was packed.

Austin appeared on the stage. "Dearest Lucy…"

Austin was tall with fair skin, medium-length straight blond hair that fell just above his eyebrows, and green eyes. He was clean-shaven. His body was slender but muscular. He was wearing an unbuttoned floor-length black trenchcoat, a black vest with a single black button in the front, a white dress shirt tucked into black dress pants, and black dress shoes with black laces.

Ally looked at Austin before looking at the floor.

Ally was tall and slender. She had fair skin. Her long brown hair was parted in the middle and styled in barrel curls. Her brown eyes were framed by long dark lashes, her lips were light pink and shiny, and her cheeks were rosy. She was wearing black shoes with straps in the back and a 4 inch heel, sheer black tights, and a red dress that had a black lace overlay on the bodice, a sweetheart neckline, off-the-shoulder sleeves, and a floor-length skirt with a slit in the right side that reached the middle of the thigh and revealed her right leg.

"For a moment, I thought you were someone else." Ally said, slightly panicked.

"For a moment, it almost was." Austin made his way to the middle of the stage. "I have some rather sad news, Lucy." He looked at Ally and started to walk towards her. "I have to go away for a while. A friend and I have a little dispute to settle." He looked at the floor and continued to walk. She crossed her arms and looked at the audience. "Are you glad to see me go?"

Ally shook her head and dropped her arms so they were by her side. "No."

Austin shook his head. The audience found him quite unsettling. "You're lying to me."

Austin picked up a piece of hair that had been on Ally's shoulder. "I can always tell when you're lying."

"When will you be back?" Ally asked, looking at Austin out of the corner of her eye. He played with the piece of hair and laughed bitterly.

Austin moved to the other side of Ally. "There is no knowing."

"But God help you if you're not waiting for me when I return," Austin sing-songed.

Ally looked at the floor. Austin moved her hair to the side of her neck, and she looked at him slightly. His hands moved up her body to touch her shoulder as the music started playing.

Ally began to sing.

"I feel your fingers

Cold on my shoulder

Your chilling touch

As it runs down my spine."

Austin's hands moved up and down the top of Ally's arms. She looked straight ahead before turning to face him.

"Watching your eyes

As they invade my soul."

Austin's hands moved down Ally's arms.

"Forbidden pleasures

I'm afraid to make mine."

Austin's lips ghosted over Ally's neck before his hands held hers tightly, bringing her right one up to her shoulder.

"At the touch of your hand

At the sound of your voice…"

Austin let go of Ally. Her fingers lightly touched his arm.

"At the moment your eyes meet mine…"

Austin moved Ally's hair from her shoulder so it was resting on her back instead.

"I am out of my mind

I am out of control

Full of feelings I can't define."

Austin wrapped his arms around Ally's waist, holding her tightly.

"It's a sin with no name," Austin sang.

"Like a hand in a flame," Ally sang.

"And our senses proclaim it's a dangerous game," Austin and Ally sang.

"A darker dream that has no ending." Austin let go of Ally. "That's so unreal you believe that it's true." He gripped her arm, and she looked at him as she followed him across the stage. She stopped on the other side of the stage, and he walked up a few of the steps on the staircase. "A dance of death out of a mystery tale. The frightened princess doesn't know what to do." He cornered her on the stairs, looking at her harshly. She looked at the floor, slightly panicked.

"Will the ghosts go away?" Austin sang, burying his head in the crook of Ally's neck.

"No!" Ally sang. She sounded scared.

"Will she will them to stay?" Austin sang.

"No!" Ally sang. She sounded scared.

"Either way, there's no way to win!" Austin sang.

Ally stumbled away from Austin.

"All I know is I'm lost, and I'm counting the cost. My emotions are in a spin. I don't know who to blame." Ally walked up the stairs to the balcony, looking behind her to see Austin following her.

"It's a crime and a shame," Austin sang.

"But it's true all the same," Ally sang.

Ally walked backwards across the balcony. Austin caught up with her.

"It's a dangerous game," Austin and Ally sang.

Austin and Ally sang a high note. "No one speaks."

Austin grabbed Ally's arm and pulled her in front of him.

Austin and Ally sang a high note. "Not one word."

Austin and Ally sang a high note. "All the words are in our eyes."

Austin held Ally tightly.

Austin and Ally sang a high note. "Silence speaks."

Austin and Ally sang a high note. "Loud and clear."

Ally walked away from Austin slightly.

Austin and Ally sang a high note. "All the words we don't want to hear!"

Austin and Ally looked at each other before facing the audience.

"At the touch of your hand…"

Austin grabbed Ally's hand and put it on his neck.

"At the sound of your voice…"

Ally's hand slowly moved down Austin's body.

"At the moment your eyes meet mine…"

Austin and Ally turned to face each other. Her hands cupped his cheeks as she walked further along the balcony.

"I am losing my mind

I am losing control

Fighting feelings I can't define."

Ally let go of Austin and walked away, looking at the floor, slightly panicked.

"It's a sin with no name," Ally sang.

Austin slowly followed Ally.

"No remorse, and no shame. Fire, fury, and flame," Austin sang.

Ally sang a high note. "'Cause the Devil's to blame!"

Austin and Ally sang a high note. "And the angels proclaim…"

Austin was standing behind Ally. She was facing away from him. He grabbed her waist and turned her around. They took a deep breath before singing the final line. "It's a dangerous game."

Ally moved backwards slightly. Austin's hand went to the back of her neck and pulled her into a kiss. She pulled away a few seconds later. They walked off the stage together. Once they were backstage, they could hear the audience cheering.

Austin stood at the side of the stage, a white spotlight shining down on him as he looked at the floor.

Austin was wearing a navy blue vest with a single navy blue button in the front, a white dress shirt tucked into navy blue dress pants, and brown dress shoes with brown laces.

Music started playing.

Austin began to sing.

"It's over now

I know inside

No one will ever know the sorry tale of Edward Hyde and those who died

No one must ever know

They'd only see the tragedy

They'd not see my intent

The shadow of Hyde's evil would forever kill the good that I had meant

Am I a good man?

Am I a mad man?

It's such a fine line between a good man and a..."

A red light appeared in the middle of the stage, and Austin made his way towards it, the white spotlight following him.

Austin hunched forward, a shadow appearing behind him. There was a transparent curtain between him and the audience.

"Do you really think that I would ever let you go?" Austin sang.

Austin sang a high note. "Do you think I'll ever set you free?"

"If you do, I'm sad to say it simply isn't so," Austin sang before quickly turning right.

Austin sang a high note. "You will never get away from me!"

The white spotlight reappeared, and Austin stood up straight.

"All that you are is a face in the mirror. I close my eyes, and you disappear," Austin sang.

The light turned red, and Austin hunched forward, a shadow appearing behind him.

"I'm what you face when you face in the mirror. As long as you live, I will still be here," Austin sang.

The white spotlight reappeared, and Austin stood up straight.

"All that you are is the end of a nightmare. All that you are is a dying scream," Austin sang.

Austin sang a high note. "After tonight, I shall end this demon dream."

The next time the light turned red, Austin looked like he was physically dragged back into a hunching position as the shadow appeared behind him.

"This is not a dream, my friend, and it will never end!" Austin sang.

Austin sang a high note. "This one is the nightmare that goes on!"

Austin quickly turned the other way.

"Hyde is here to stay, no matter what you may pretend," Austin sang.

Austin sang a high note. "And he'll flourish long after you're gone!"

The white spotlight reappeared, and Austin stood up straight.

"Soon, you will die, and my memory will hide you. You cannot choose but to lose control," Austin sang.

The light turned red, and Austin hunched forward, a shadow appearing behind him.

"You can't control me! I live deep inside you! Each day, you'll feel me devour your soul!" Austin sang.

The white spotlight reappeared, and Austin stood up straight.

"I don't need to survive like you need me. I'll become whole as you dance with death," Austin sang.

Austin sang a high note. "And I'll rejoice as you breathe your final breath!"

The light turned red, and Austin hunched forward, a shadow appearing behind him.

Austin sang a high note. "I'll live inside you forever!"

The white spotlight reappeared, and Austin stood up straight.

"No!" Austin screamed.

The light turned red, and Austin hunched forward, a shadow appearing behind him.

Austin sang a high note. "With Satan himself by my side!"

The white spotlight reappeared, and Austin stood up straight.

"Noooo!" Austin screamed. His hand reached up desperately, like he was trying to hold on to the good side of him, but it was no use. He was literally dragged back down, and the shadow was now looming over him and the audience.

Austin sang a high note. "And I know that now and forever, they'll never be able to separate Jekyll from Hyde!"

Austin was standing up straight again. His hand was in his hair.

"Can't you see it's over now? It's time to die!" Austin yelled desperately, looking around the room.

"No, not I! Only you!" Austin yelled.

"If I die, you'll die too!" Austin yelled.

Austin was quickly hunched over again.

"You'll die in me. I'll be you!" Austin yelled.

"Damn you, Hyde! Leave me be!" Austin's voice shook.

Austin was really good at expressing how desperate Jekyll was.

"Can't you see? You are me!" Austin yelled.

"Nooo!" Austin screamed. "Deep inside…"

"I am you! You are Hyde!" Austin yelled.

"No! Never!" Austin yelled desperately.

"Yes! Forever!" Austin yelled evilly.

"God damn you, Hyde! Take all your evil deeds, and rot in Hell!" Austin yelled.

"I'll see you there, Jekyll," Austin sneered before standing up straight again. The light flashed white before going back to red, and then the shadow slowly appeared until the stage went black.

The curtains closed, and the audience cheered.

"That was fucking awesome," someone in the audience whispered to the person sitting beside them.

When the show came to an end, Austin and Ally joined the rest of the cast onstage for the curtain call.
