Hey guys! This story won't be updated as often as my other ones, so thank you for your patience. A Huey x Gosalyn story! Yeah! And what is their ship name, you ask? Huesalyn. Thanks for the reviews, follows, and favorites! Enjoy!
The day Huey first met Gosalyn, he was five years old. He had a bright red ball and bounced it along as he walked. He hummed as he went, without a care in the world. A girls voice broke his concentration. "Hey," she said. Startled, he let the ball roll down the street. "My ball!" he whined.
He looked over to the girl. She had deep red hair and brown feathers and was his age. She stuck out a hand. "I'm Gosalyn," she smiled. Huey watched after his ball, then back at Gosalyn. "Want to be friends?" she asked. Huey took a step back.
"My uncle Donald says not to talk to strangers," he said.
"Yeah, my grandpa says that too. But we could still be friends!" she beamed.
Huey hesitated before shaking her hand. "I want my ball," he said.
She looked back to where the ball had bounced. "I'll go get it!" she said, running down the hill. Moments later, she came back with his red ball. "Here you go!" she grinned.
He took it from her. "Thanks," he said, starting to feel more comfortable around her.
"Do you want to play a game?" she asked.
Huey looked across the street to where the park was. "Sure!" he nodded. The two looked both ways before crossing the street. Once at the park, Gosalyn took the ball.
Bouncing it back and forth in her hands, she said, "Alright, red, what do you want to play?" she wondered. "My name's Huey, actually," he corrected. Gosalyn put a hand on her hip. "Well, you wear a lot of red, so I'm just going to call you red," she said. Huey wanted to protest, but a voice interrupted them.
"Hey kids! Get off the grass!" a dog instructed. Huey tugged on Gosalyn's arm. "Come on, Gosalyn. We have to get off the grass," he said. "Please, they can't kick us off the grass! It's a free country!" she said, crossing her arms. "I don't think that's how your rights work," he debated. The dog tapped a foot. Huey stepped off the grass and onto the sidewalk. But Gosalyn stayed on the grass.
The dog stared her down. She finally gave in and joined Huey. Then the dog walked off to do other stuff. "Why didn't you listen?" Huey questioned.
"Because I'm my own woman! I won't let people tell me what to do," she said proudly.
"That's breaking the rules!" he argued. "Uncle Donald says you shouldn't break the rules!" he said matter of factly.
"Well, do you always follow the rules?" she said, raising her eyebrow.
"Yes, because the junior woodchuck guidebook says-"
"The junior woodchuck guidebook is stupid! How can you read that stuff! I can't even read yet! I'm in kindergarten," she interrupted.
Huey balled his hands into fists. "Oh yeah? Well... um... you're stupid!" he shouted.
Gosalyn glared at him. She ripped some grass out of the ground and chucked a handful of dirt at him. The two five-year olds started to wrestle.
"Huey! You're all dirty! What happened!" Donald freaked when Huey came home to the house boat. His brothers snickered behind him. "Ooh, Huey's in trouble!" they sneered in unison. Huey frowned and gritted his teeth. Oh, he did NOT like her.
