No One's POV

"I got the key, Vert." Zoom said, smiling as he landed beside Katie, his best friend. "Let's hurry up already. I hate these dead warriors." Spinner replied, and Katie ducked as a ghost sword swung at her. "Agreed. Hurry up, slowpoke." she said to the scout, rushing ahead. "Are you challenging me to a race?" he asked, pulling up beside her. She shrugged, "Sure. Ready, set, go." she said, rushing ahead of him.

"Alright, you two, stop it." Vert said when they pulled up beside the others. "Come on, Vert. Let them have some fun." Agura said as Zoom opened the portal. Everyone rushed through, but the portal closed before Katie could get through. "Guys!" she screamed, coming to a stop. There was no response, and she looked around. Her eyes fell on her hand that was starting to fade away. "No... GUYS!" Katie tried again, more panicked then before.

Back on Earth, no one noticed that Katie was gone. "Let's head to Zeke's, I'm starving." Zoom said, looking at everyone. "Why do I feel like someone is missing?" he thought, but shrugged it off, joining his friends on the way to Zeke's Diner.

Katie though was struggling to stay away from the ghost warriors that were following her. "GUYS! I'm serious! THIS ISN'T FUNNY!" she said, dodging another sword. There was still no response. Katie ultimately decided to take cover somewhere, and activated autopilot on her motorcycle. She sighed, and jumped to the side, and rolled along the floor. She covered her head when a bunch of ghosts followed after her bike. As soon as they were out of sight, she shot upright, and jumped behind a rock.

Katie's POV

I was panting heavily as soon as I jumped off of my bike, and slowly peeked my head out from behind the rock. I ducked again when I saw all of the ghost warriors circling my bike, looking for me. I looked back down at my hand. It was almost transparent up to my elbow. "Guys, please. Don't leave me here." I whispered into my wrist comm, hoping that this was still a joke. I was starting to think it wasn't though, and that they were forgetting me. That they already had.

Zoom's POV

"Why is this bothering me so much!?" I asked myself for the nth time that day. "Zoom, what is up with you?" Vert asked, seeing me pacing back and forth in front of my bike. "I feel like we've forgotten something from that last zone." I explained, not stopping my pacing. I stopped, running my fingers through my hair. "No, not something..." I muttered, looking next to my motorcycle. "Someone." I whispered, running off to the key vault.

-TIME SKIP-

Katie's POV

I hated this. I was almost completely faded, and running from stupid ghost monsters. I had found a strange device in a cavern that the ghosts were coming out of, but when I destroyed it, I faded even more. I tried to run faster, but I was really tired, and I couldn't stay away from the monsters. I saw a portal open ahead of me, and then the familiar form of the Chopper fly out. He raced toward me, and managed to push the ghosts back. He came to a stop beside me, a sorry look in his eyes. "Kaite, are you alright? I am so sorry for leaving you here." Zoom said, jumping off of his ride, and somehow managing to hug me in my ghost like form. "The Buster will come back and get your bike. I'm getting you home." he said. "But..." I started. "NOW!" he snapped. I sighed, but nodded, and followed him to his bike.

Zoom climbed on, and pulled me on behind him. He drove off to the portal, and drove through. As soon as we were through I returned back to normal. I held on tight as he drove back to the hub, and pulled in. I slowly got off of the Chopper, almost tripping over my own feet. Spinner and Zoom both helped me back to a standing position, and I took in deep, heavy breaths. "Please help me to my room." I muttered as Agura helped take off my helmet.

Zoom's POV

I brought Katie back to her room as Spinner walked off with Sherman to go get her bike. She was awfully pale, and I couldn't even begin to imagine what she had been through in the 9 hours we left her in there. I opened up her door, and helped her over to her bed. "Do you need anything?" I asked her, kneeling down in front of her. She wouldn't meet my eyes though, and kept on looking away when I kept on trying to get her to look at me. "No, I want to be alone, though." Katie whispered. I sighed, but nodded, and stood up. I stopped in the doorway, looking back at her as she laid back on her bed. She was looking at her hand absentmindedly.

I blamed myself for leaving her behind, and not realizing it. I shook my head, walking out of the door, and shutting it quietly behind me. I walked down the hall, running my fingers through my hair. "Oh no, what happened? You don't run your hands through your hair unless you feel guilty about something." Agura said, walking up to me. "Not true." I muttered, and she shook her head. "What happened?" she asked again. I sighed, "I blame myself for leaving Katie in that battle zone. I was the one who closed the portal." I replied, looking down at my hands. Agura set a hand on my shoulder. "In a way, it's everyone's fault. We didn't notice." she replied.

I just shook my head, walking past her into my own room. I sat down onto my bed, holding my face in my hands. "This is all my fault." I muttered, running my hands through my hair again. I shot upright when I heard a scream from down the hall. I ran out of my room, and up to Katie's room.

I burst through the door, and saw Katie was sitting up in bed, a scared look on her face. I walked slowly up to her side, and sat down on her bed. "Are you alright?" I asked, wrapping an arm around her shoulder. She tried to shrug my arm off, but I kept it firmly where I was. "Katie, talk to me." I whispered, and I felt she was trembling. "The ghosts..." she whispered, giving up on getting me off. She started to cry, and I gently tucked her head under my chin.

"It was all my fault." I whispered, as I rubbed circles comfortingly on Katie's back. I heard a sob, and wrapped my other arm around her in a full on hug. "I shut the portal on you. None of this would have happened if I wasn't here." I said, I felt her shake her head, and whisper "If you weren't here, I wouldn't be here.". I didn't know what she was talking about, and looked down at her. "What are you talking about?" I asked, "The only reason I joined was because of you. I trusted you, and this was never your fault." Katie replied. I shook my head this time, "It is all my fault." I said.

Katie pulled away from me, and looked up at me. "It's not your fault, so stop saying it." she whispered, resting her head on my shoulder. I tensed a little, but she didn't move. "I'm sorry." I whispered, resting my head against hers. I started to stand up, but Katie grabbed my hand, pulling me back down. "Please, don't go." she whispered, and I smiled a little. "Scared to go to sleep alone?" I asked, meaning it as a joke, but she nodded. I smirked, but leaned back, and wrapped an arm around her as she laid her head on my shoulder. She set a hand on my chest, and I smiled a little, resting my other one on top of it.

I felt Katie watching me, and looked over at her. "What?" I asked, and she smiled a little. "I just wanted to say thank you. For everything." she replied. "Hey, what are friends for. Now go ahead and get some sleep, I know you've had a rough day." I said, rubbing her shoulder. She nodded, and relaxed as I kept on rubbing her shoulder.

I do not own Battle Force 5. And if you have any suggestions on how to make this any better, I'll gladly take them. Have a great day, folks!
