Hello, my friends. I got this idea from reading a similar story that I decided to try out. This story will tell what would have happened if Sabor was good and not the bloodthirsty killer we all know in the actual movie, and what would have happened if she had found a human baby to raise as her own, just as Kala found Tarzan. If all of you really hate Sabor, which I completely understand your reasons, then I hope to in some way, change that with my story. Sabor will be completely Ooc in this, but that's 1 of the things Fanfiction is for. Anyway, don't let me keep you guys waiting. Enjoy the 1st chapter, my dear friends.
1 stormy night off the coast of Africa, a ship caught fire and started to sink. A man on the ship lowered a lifeboat holding his wife and baby boy before jumping into the water, swimming to the lifeboat, took the ors, and began rowing to land. When the family reached land the next morning, their baby boy cooed in happiness at seeing a large tree, which they picked out to live before building a home for themselves on the tree, which took hard work but they eventually finished their treehouse.
But unknown to them, another couple had gotten off the ship some time before they had, carrying their baby girl, along with several other survivors. This other couple wandered deep into the jungle with the survivors before they found a large open field where they could live and built a small colony with food from the jungle and water from the nearby river to live off of, along with shelters to live in, with the couple and their baby girl living in the house close to the river.

Deep within the jungle, lived another family: a group of apes, watched over and protected by their leader, Kerchak. Like the 4 human parents, Kerchak and his mate, Kala, loved their own child and spent many happy hours playing with him. And in another part of the jungle, lived another little family: a Leopard named Sabor, who had her own little cub and like Kerchak and Kala, loved him with all her heart, even after her mate had died. The happy leopard mother had spent many happy hours playing with her cub, teaching him how to hunt prey and climb trees and even swim. Although unheard of by humans, gorilla and leopard kind had always been separate from each other but always had respect for each other due to respecting the delicate balance of life that the law of the jungle demanded, despite nature intending for their species to be natural enemies.

A simple life, they live in peace
1 day while hunting for food, Sabor saw something on the large tree she'd passed by lots of times. It wasn't like anything she'd ever seen before and she was curious about it. "Hmmmm, what in the jungle could this strange wooden thing be? Whatever it is, I must not let whatever lives there be a threat to me or my son." She thought to herself, her mother instinct kicking in. She then placed her son in a safe place to hide and told him to stay there before she crossed the bridge and she looked in the window of the treehouse, she saw strange creatures inside of the house, 1 male and 1 female and...a baby. The creatures looked to be very happy as they were playing with their baby, with the child laughing in happiness as its mother tickled him and its father rubbing his little head gently. Sabor couldn't help but smile at this, as it reminded her of herself and her son. "They really do look very happy. Maybe... they're not a threat to me or my son at all. Perhaps it's best if I just change my hunting ground and leave these creatures alone." She thought before she quietly went back to her cub, retrieved him and ran deeply into the jungle before she was seen to change her hunting ground.
It seemed like the families' futures were looking very bright, but that happiness would soon come to a tragic end... and would cause the 4 families to have something in common. Unknown to any of the families, 1 of the most feared and hated animals in the jungle had seen Sabor and her cub leave before seeing the treehouse with evil and insane intention: Another Leopard named Kellan, who had a big scar on his head and was feared even by his own kind because unlike Sabor or any of the other animals, he had no respect for the life balance in the jungle and killed and ate everything that moved, even his own kind wasn't safe from his evil.
As Kellan watched Sabor go into the jungle, he saw a strange wooden thing that was unfamiliar to him. The strange wooden thing also looked similar to the others that he'd seen close to the river in another part of the jungle that he'd vowed to visit again soon after dealing with more important business with Sabor, as he wanted nothing to threaten his evil and insane schemes for power in the jungle.

A new life is waiting
But danger's no stranger here
1 night while Sabor was sleeping in a tree
Sabor's cub was still awake and had seen a red frog pass by. Playful and curious, he smiled and climbed down from the tree before chasing the frog through the area, leaving the safety of his mother... while unknowingly being stalked by Kellan, who was going his own way to where he knew the cub was going. Some minutes later, Sabor woke up and saw that her son was missing, worrying her greatly before she caught a familiar scent: Kellan. "No. No, no, no, no! Not my son! Not my son!" She thought with great worry as she quickly ran to follow Kellan's scent, hoping with all her heart that she was not too late.
Later at the Gorilla's nesting place
While Kerchak and Kala were sleeping, their baby son was still awake. After a few minutes, the frog and Sabor's cub jumped from the bushes, surprising the baby Gorilla before the little cub smiled and licked the baby Gorilla on the cheek playfully, making the other baby chitter happily before he hugged him. The cub then ran off, making the baby Gorilla run after his new friend, wanting to play with him. The 2 cute animals raced through the area in happiness but unknown to them, Kellan was very close by in the bushes, having seen an opportunity for a double meal. The 2 cute babies were so into their fun that they didn't realize that they were running right into the evil Leopard until it was far too late. When they saw him, they became very afraid as he roared at them in hunger. The baby Gorilla and Leopard ran as fast as they could back to the nesting area but Kellan quickly caught up with them and dragged them off to somewhere far away from the area to eat his caught prey. Kerchak and Kala woke up and heard the noise before running to save their son but when Kerchak heard the screams of his baby boy, he stopped Kala from going any further, knowing that it was too late, leaving the female Gorilla heartbroken as she cried in her mate's arms.
Meanwhile with Sabor
The female leopard had quickly caught up with Kellan and was getting closer to him. She'd prayed to the spirit of the jungle with all her heart that she was not too late. But as she got closer, she'd heard the cries of her cub along with flesh being ripped apart! But strangely, she'd heard the cries of a baby Gorilla. She didn't know why a baby Gorilla was close to Kellan, as she'd thought they should be nesting at this time of night. But now wasn't the time for this, she had to save her son before that monster got to him.
Sabor had just come out of the bushes when she saw something that she would never forget for the rest of her life: her sweet cub and a baby Gorilla were laying on the ground, dead from blood and flesh loss. And from the looks of it, her cub had taken most of the pain in order to protect the Gorilla child. The now childless Leopard could not believe her eyes. Her precious cub, which meant the entire world to her...was dead, and she could do nothing to bring him or the Gorilla child back. "I'm... so very sorry, my sweet boy, along with you, little 1." She thought with great sadness.
But before she could do anything else, she smelled something familiar, making her growl with deep hatred before she looked above her and saw none other than the 1 that had killed the children: Kellan, the most dangerous Leopard in the jungle. The rogue leopard then pounced on Sabor viciously, attacking her with insane and mindless attacks before Sabor got him off of her and began to fight back with all of her strength to try to avenge her cub and the gorilla child.
But Kellan proved to be the stronger leopard, easily swiping off Sabor's attacks... until the grieving mother had found an opening and with 1 fast swipe, slashed out Kellan's right eye, making him roar in agony before he swiped Sabor away from him and ran from the area, still in agony at losing 1 of his eyes.
Sabor got up and wanted to chase Kellan, but as her anger died out, she went back to her dead son and the gorilla child. With nothing distracting her, she got a very good look at the baby Gorilla and knew who's baby it was. "This is... Kala and Kerchak's child. My son...was... trying to protect him. But that means-" She thought before realizing that her son might have actually made a friend and had tried to protect him... to save his life. "No." Sabor said with sadness before she cried heavily for not being able to save her cub and for him being so brave as to try to save and protect Kala's child. When she stopped crying, she nuzzled her child and the baby Gorilla before digging a hole for the 2 of them before gently putting the 2 children in it in a friendly embrace... before putting the dug up dirt back into the hole and touching it with her paw for a few more minutes before sadly leaving the area.
A few days later
Sabor was still grieving the loss of her cub and there was no doubt that Kala was grieving the same way that she was. But unlike Sabor, Kala had her gorilla family and Kerchak to comfort her while she had no one else left to turn to due to her kind always hunting alone. It seemed that she was destined to be alone for the rest of her life and that was something that she would have to live with. But then, she'd heard a strange crying sound. She didn't know what it was but curiosity got the better of her and she followed the sound all the way to a strange set of wooden things similar to what she saw in that tree those strange creatures lived in and heard the crying sound from the hill close to the river.

Sabor carefully walked into the human colony, being on the lookout for any of the strange creatures. But to her horror, they were all dead. Every home the creatures had built was torn apart and there was broken furniture everywhere in the houses. As Sabor walked into the home on the hill, she saw the same fate has befallen the creatures that lived inside of the home and most of the creatures that were most likely to escape had fled and she'd saw bloody leopard paw prints chasing after the survivors who had fled. She then stepped on something on the floor and looked at it closely. It seemed that it was something that showed what the dead creatures looked like and it even had a baby as well.
Suddenly, she'd heard the crying again but it was a few feet away from her this time...under some kind of soft thing she'd never seen before in a basket of some kind. And strangely, there was something moving under it. Curious, Sabor took off the blanket with her right paw, revealing the baby from the strange thing she'd seen. The baby human rubbed her eyes before looking at Sabor, eyeing the leopard curiously. Sabor sniffed the child before it sneezed on her, making her wipe it off with her left paw before raising her eye at the baby. The little child then goggled happily at the big cat before her small arms reached out for her to be picked up as she cooed.
Sabor then took the child into her paws before leaning her head down, allowing the baby to touch her muzzle softly before she smiled warmly at the baby and touched her head with her paw. The baby reminded her so much of her cub...but deep down, she knew that she couldn't keep this little 1, despite wanting to feel the joy of having a child. She then knew what she had to do. "I'm sorry, little 1. I can't keep you. I'm so sorry about your parents and family, but I know who can keep and raise you." She said before picking up the basket in her muzzle and carrying the basket to the tree house that she'd seen days ago. Hopefully, the creatures there would take the baby in and she'd be safe with her own kind.
It took a few hours, but Sabor had finally gotten back to the tree house and had just crossed the bridge to find the door was opened, confusing her before she saw the same thing had happened to the other houses she'd seen by that river. When she went inside, she looked for the parents of the other child but suddenly saw Kala, holding the human baby boy in her arms, confusing her as to why she was here. "Kala?" She asked, having put the baby basket on the floor.
When Kala heard that familiar voice, she turned around and stood back, holding the baby boy protectively in her arms. "What are you doing here, Sabor? What do you want? Are you responsible for this?!" Kala demanded, wanting to know why Sabor was here.
"No. I...was looking for the creatures who live in this place. Where are they? And why do you have their baby?" Sabor asked before she smelt blood on her right. She then looked and saw Leopard paw prints but not hers, as she had not entered this place when she found it. She then looked in front of her and saw... the creatures from a few days ago, laying dead on the floor. She'd then realized that only 1 leopard was responsible for this and the tragedy of the baby girl's parents. It had been Kellan, the same leopard that killed her cub and Kala's child. She then growled and roared out in anger. "KEEEELLAAAAANNNN!"
Kala had never seen Sabor this angry before in her life. But then she'd remembered that Sabor had a cub that was killed a few days ago by Kellan, the leopard that even the other leopards hated and feared. If it was true, Kellan must have been the 1 that killed Sabor's cub, but what she didn't know was if Sabor had anything to do with her son's death. "Could it have been Kellan that killed my son? I know Sabor had a cub but leopard cubs do need proper food to live after feeding on a mother's milk. Could Sabor's cub have run into our nesting place while we were sleeping that night? My son... could have been awake and had wanted to play with the cub and that caused him to wander away from us while we slept. Is it possible that... Sabor was trying to save her cub?"
When Sabor calmed down, she noticed that the baby in Kala's arms was hugging the female gorilla affectionately like a son. Just as the baby girl had done to her when she found her. And when Sabor saw the baby boy's parents dead on the floor, she then realized that there was nobody else to take care of the baby girl, only herself now. Just as Kala was possibly going to take care of the baby boy, as its parents were now dead.
After both animals had saw that they both were mothers who lost their child and were now the only ones that could take care of the babies, Sabor had took the basket into her mouth and ran out of the house and crossed the bridge to go back into the jungle, with Kala following her. After Sabor looked at Kala, she nodded to the female gorilla before running to her new hunting grounds.
"Sabor, wait!" Kala called out, wanting to talk with the female leopard, but she was already gone. After looking at the baby boy again, who laughed happily, she decided to head back to her family before any other creature showed up or Kellan decided to come back and finish what he'd started by killing the baby's parents.

Later with Kerchak and the family
Kerchak and the family were looking for Kala when a young female gorilla named Terk spoke up as she saw Kala walking up to them. "Mama, look! Look over there!" She said, making all the Gorillas look at Kala before they walked up to her as Kerchak sighed in relief that his mate was safe.
The other gorillas were relieved to see Kala safe but when she showed them the baby boy, they gasped and tried to find the right word to describe the baby boy until Terk looked at the baby and spoke for them. "That's freaky looking, that's what it is."
"Terkana." Terk's mother said sternly.
"We'll, it is! I mean, what the heck is it anyway?" Terk asked her aunt Kala.
Kala chuckled and answered as she gave the baby to Terk. "He's a baby."
When Terk held the baby, she had difficulty holding him as he played with her hair, making him coo and laugh happily as Terk smiled and chuckled. "So where's his Mama?" She asked.
"Well, I'm going to be his mother now." Kala declared, wanting to raise the child as her own.
"You know, he's not so bad, once you get used to him." Terk said as she hugged the baby, who hugged her back before Terk gave the baby back to Kala. "Kala's gonna be its mother now." She said before returning to her mother.
Kerchak sniffed the baby a bit before pulling back because of the scent before Kala spoke to her mate softly. "Kerchak, I saved him from Kellan."
Kerchak looked shocked but them spoke firmly to her, knowing that this creature wouldn't replace their dead son. "Kala, it won't replace the 1 we lost."
"I know that. But he needs me." Kala said while holding the baby close to her, making him coo happily.
"But, it, it- Kala, look at it. It's not our kind." Kerchak said as he shook his head. "No. You have to take it back."
"Take him back? But he'll die." Kala said with fear for the baby's life.
"If the jungle wants him, then-" He tried to say before Kala cut him off.
"I want him."
"Kala, I cannot let you put our family in danger." Kerchak said, not wanting the family in any danger because of the baby boy.
Kala held the harmless baby up before speaking out. "Does he look dangerous to you?"
But this only caused Kerchak to roar out as he stood up and pounded his chest in anger, making the family scared and the baby cry before Kala defended the baby while glaring at her stubborn mate before looking at her pleading eyes, making him calm down before he sighed and asked. "Was it alone?"
"Yes. Kellan killed his family."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. There are no others." She answered, knowing that there were no other creatures like the baby to take care of him, hence why Sabor had at 1st brought that baby girl to the tree house, as she must have known that Kellan must have done the same to her family as well, otherwise she wouldn't have bothered to bring that baby there in the 1st place instead of keeping her right away.
Kerchak sighed as Kala wasn't going to give up. "Then you may keep him." She said reluctantly.
Kala smiled at that before looking at her new son. "Kerchak, I know he'll be a good son." She said, knowing that this baby would be a good son for her and her mate.
But Kerchak said differently. "I said he could stay. That doesn't make him my son." He said coldly before addressing the family. "We will nest here for the night." He said before he and the others walked away to build their nests.
That was when Terk walked back up to her auntie and asked. "So, um, what you gonna call him?"
"I'm gonna call him... Tarzan." Kala answered, deciding to name the baby Tarzan, deciding to name the baby after what she'd planned to call her lost son before he was killed.
"Tarzan? Okay, he's your baby." Terk said before her mother took her to the nesting place to rest for the night.
Kala tried to take the baby with the family by putting him on her shoulder but as she tried to take the 1st step, the baby slipped from her shoulder and nearly fell to the ground if Kala hadn't caught him in time, making him start crying. "Oh, oh no. Why. Don't cry. I'm here. Come on. Come on." Kala said as she hugged the baby to her before singing him a song to soothe her new son. "Come stop your crying, it'll be alright. Just take my hand, hold it tight. I will protect you from all around you, I will be here, don't you cry." She sang before taking her baby and climbing all a tree before building a nest for herself and baby Tarzan and playing with him a bit as other small animals watched. As Kala laid the baby down close to her as he was sleeping, she couldn't help but wonder if Sabor was all right and if the baby girl she carried with her was feeling the same way as her new baby was now. She could only hope that if she ever saw the female leopard again, she could ask her about that terrible night and confirm if she had anything to do with it. But until then, she'd focus on raising her new baby boy, Tarzan as she fell asleep.
Meanwhile in another part of the jungle
Sabor had found a large tree to sleep in with enough room for her new baby girl. She nugged the baby playfully and sniffed her black hair, making the baby giggle softly before she touched her muzzle softly and rubbed it before she looked into her new mother's eyes, making Sabor smile warmly at her new daughter before deciding on what to name her. "Little 1, I think I'll call you...Nila. My little Nila. I promise that no matter what happens, I'll always protect you from anything and any animal in this jungle that wishes to do you harm." She whispered gently as she looked at her baby girl's green eyes before licking her check as baby Nila closed her eyes before Sabor put her head down, closed her eyes and fell asleep as other small animals watched this unusual display curiously.
For one so small, you seem so strong
My arms will hold you keep you safe and warm,
This bond between us can't be broken,
I will be here, don't you cry
'Cause you'll be in my heart,
yes you'll be in my heart,
From this day on now and forevermore
You'll be in my heart,
No matter what they say,
You'll be here in my heart,
Always.
"Always." Both gorilla and leopard mothers thought as they slept peacefully with their new children.
There you go, my friends, the 1st chapter of my Tarzan story is complete. If the story is successful, I'll even put the episodes of the Legend of Tarzan Disney show into the story, but with my own personal touches. If not, I'll just do it anyway. Rate and review and tell me what you all think. See you all soon, my dear friends.
