Chapter 10! USJ!
Quick thing! Tiger's Bite has nearly reached the 100 faves and follows and even Midair Collide is getting there! Thank you all so much! Your constant viewership on my stories always keeps me motivated!
Lots of POV switching here as well folks!
Btw I get a little uhh, darker I guess in the chapter so just heads up.
User/Reviewer EndlessChains: Thanks for letting me know that I did well on the battle trials! Yeah I'm doing my best to build up and slowly expose the characters (especially Izumi's) personalities. Itsuka and Setsuna are definitely in for rough times ahead. As for the guesses! It didn't necessarily debut with Persona but with A Persona game. Devil Survivor is closer BUT it's closer because of Nintendo. A lot more monster descriptions here btw, good luck and thanks as always for the review!
User/Reviewer MosesArk: The Tom and Jerry image made me laugh. Yeah while Bakugo may be a bit more thoughtful and cautious it's still possible to lure him into a trap at the current time. Thanks as always for the review!
To everyone who faved, followed, or reviewed thanks so much!
Disclaimer: I don't own BNHA or the referenced monsters
More notes at the end!
Chapter 10: What Leaves the Den
*Momo POV*
"Midoriya-chan's quirk is weird isn't it?" Tsuyu, the girl insisted everyone call her that, said suddenly, catching everyone's attention.
The class was on its way to a different facility for rescue training and Momo, the class president, and Iida, the VP, had gotten them all on the bus and the class was talking animatedly during the trip. After hearing Tsuyu's statement, the class directed their attention to the girl in question who as always was blissfully asleep much like their teacher.
"If you mean weird like super scary then totally." Mineta chimed in his opinion.
"She's kinda hard to approach too. I mean aside from the whole sleeping, she doesn't seem interested in talking to anyone except those two girls from 1-B." Kaminari added.
"While it's true that Midoriya-san has her own...eccentricities, you can't deny her planning skills." Momo defended, remembering how quick and efficient the sleeping girl was during the battle trial. Momo was just glad that she had been something of an integral part to Midoriya's plan or else she would have felt like she hadn't contributed.
"Yeah, she and Yaomomo kinda destroyed during the battle trial! No chance at all!" Mina chirped teasingly.
"We were completely out maneuvered." Iida admitted, disappointed.
"Shut it! Shitty Deku just used her stupid tricks was all!" Bakugo bristled angrily, getting a laugh from some of the class.
"Says the one that was immobilized first." Jirou snickered, another loud protest escaping the explosive blonde.
"You can't really deny that her quirk is real flashy either." Kirishima interjected, "Mine's kind of dull in comparison."
"Some of her creatures were cool, but I think a few are going to give me nightmares." Sero rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment, "That dinosaur she made back at the quirk test? Something that big and scary should not move that fast."
The class continued talking, shifting from Midoriya's strange quirk to each others' but Momo kept her thoughts on the greenette. Midoriya's quirk seemed to be somewhat like her own but the girl herself was an absolute enigma. Her tired expression never gave away any of her intentions but if you looked it was plain to see how much work went into heroics. From her quirk capabilities, analysis skills, demeanor during exercises, and structured studious behavior, Momo knew that Midoriya was very dedicated to her goal to become a hero. It was just everything else about her that appeared impossible to uncover.

*Izumi POV*
Izumi wasn't actually asleep during the entire ride, in fact she had actually woken up when her class was making comments about her quirk, but she wasn't exactly listening to them. Instead, with her eyes closed, Izumi quietly thought about what kind of rescue training they would be doing as well as what progress she had made trying to break past her current quirk limits.
Of course she had worked on building her energy to summon a higher number of monsters at once and had even practiced directing small swarms of monsters. Izumi had also done her best to merge with a monster while directing groups of creatures and was slightly successful. However, the biggest leap she had made was increasing the range that her monsters could act away from her. Her original range last year had been 15 meters but after she gained more energy and practiced different ways of directing them the range had doubled to around 30 meters.
Another thing that she had worked on was analyzing hero footage as if she was hero on the scene and she had to quickly choose which monsters would be needed, whether they were from premade groups or specifically selected, Izumi would have to know which ones to use. The last thing she had done was of course design more monsters, but she created them with the thoughts of what kind of quirk could they counter. For example, the bulb monsters she had used during the battle trials were originally designed to counter quirks that required sight, quirks like her teacher's Erasure. The fog spewing monsters were useful in obscuring regular sight as well but the idea behind them stemmed from Izumi's analysis of quirks. Her monster and quirk notes always did have a heavy affect on the other.
Izumi felt the bus come to a rolling stop, they had arrived.

After being swallowed up by the black mist Izumi found herself in a condensed forest. She couldn't see any of her classmates, they all must have been scattered and she was the only one sent here, but she could hear the faint steps and voices of surrounding villains. Izumi looked around impassively not yet seeing the enclosing enemies. It was too bad. Too bad for them that Izumi was never alone.

*Villain POV*
Yura was a small time villain, she knew that, but she got a kick out of doing whatever she wanted. It wasn't like society had ever done anything for her so she was just gonna do her own thing. So when a group called the League of Villains, offered up a chance to cause a ruckus she didn't see any issues with it. Now, she was regretting the decision. Hell, she was starting to regret ever becoming a villain.
Yura, along with a bunch of other villains, had been waiting in the forest area for the mist man to send some prey over and after hearing the sound of his warp activating somewhere deeper in she knew that he had delivered. The woman hadn't even made it a few feet before she heard screaming that froze her in place. That wasn't the kind of scream that someone let out in surprise. It was the kind of terrified scream that meant someone thought they were going to die! What the fuck was deeper in the forest? She thought it was just some hero brat but now she wasn't so sure.
Carefully making her way through the trees, her skin crawled and sweat trickled down her face when she heard the rattling, clicking, and buzzing of movement. Yura felt her heart pounding as the noises got louder and another scream tore through the unsettling thicket. Pressing her back to a tree she peered from her hiding place and saw an unconscious pair of villains being dragged away by something. She almost yelped herself but was interrupted when she caught sight of someone else running in a panic. Her throat tightened up when she saw what was chasing him.
A group of 3 massive red wasps, their bodies fat and shiny, four blurring wings, green eyes, and a large green stinger pursued him relentlessly. The man tripped over a root in his terror and one of the creatures bared down on him and stung him. His body instantly seized up and he fell to the ground, groaning in pain while the horrid insects flew off in search of others.
Yura was thinking about going over to him but a spider just as large as the wasps slowly crept down from the tree tops. It's metallic silver body with red markings and spikes on the top lowered down to the pained man. Spindly green legs pulled strings of webbing and started wrapping the downed man, trapping him before it dragged him off. Yura had enough of this fucked up horror scene and took off trying to find the exit. With each scream and the ever present skittering of insects the villain grew more and more hysteric, she had to get out of here! She'd clean up her life, do her time, find a decent job, as long as she could get away from this place!
Looking over to her right she caught sight of a group of villains who seemed to have the same idea, finally, maybe she could join up and leave! Her plans crumbled when the monstrous insects dropped all around the group. The rattling and buzzing became louder as the insects began SWARMING out of the trees and the group fell to their knees in despair while the monsters closed in on them. Fuck that! She was not going to get caught by those, those things! Using all her energy, Yura ran and ran finally catching sight of the entrance to the zone, she was free! All of a sudden she lost her footing and fell forward to the ground. Looking back she found her foot tangled by the webbing of one of the spiders. No, no! She was not going to lose here! Her hopes were dashed when she turned her gaze back to the entrance and only a meter away another monster was waiting for her.
The hideous lime green scorpion glared at her with wine red eyes. It's large pincers clamped and its sharp mandibles caused Yura to stop breathing. The onyx colored tail and sickly reddish purple stinger hung above its armored carapace. Yura felt tears well up in her eyes, was this it? There was no way to escape and more insects were slowly closing in on her. In fact the spider that had caught her already immobilized her with more webbing and now she was face to face with a monster scorpion. The tears started to leak but all of a sudden the monsters disappeared as if they were never there. She was still tightly cocooned by the spider's webbing so it couldn't have been an illusion. Looking up she saw a small green haired girl walk by and take off on a golden bird. Yura rested her face against the floor, she'd go straight after this, that girl had spared her.

*Tsuyu POV*
Tsuyu felt the boat shudder once again as the aquatic villains battered the hull repeatedly. She alongside Mineta had been sent to the shipwreck zone, strange considering her quirk, but as it stood the pair was stuck and the villains would eventually close in on them. Tsuyu couldn't escape the area while carrying and defending Mineta so all they could do was try and hold out for assistance. The boat was rocked again, large cracks forming up the middle and Mineta shrieked in terror forcing Tsuyu to cover his mouth. The frog girl could understand being unnerved by the sudden attack, she was as well, but now was the time to figure a way out not cry in defeat.
Tsuyu heard the villains growing frustration and could tell that the boat wasn't going to last. "Mineta-chan, use your quirk to stick to the front of the boat." Tsuyu ordered, the small purple boy looking at her in confusion.
"What?! How is that gonna help us?" He cried and Tsuyu shushed him.
"The boat is going to split in half and when that happens it will sink from that point. The tip and the end of the boat will be the last to get to the water." She explained, Mineta seeming to understand what she was getting at. He was about to say something but Tsuyu felt the ship split right beneath her. "Go!" Tsuyu croaked, getting onto all fours to balance herself. The boy complied and the villains continued their assault, breaking the boat more and more.
The wood continued to splinter and eventually Tsuyu's holds were all gone and she was sent plummeting into the water. Whipping around she evaded the first villain but was slowly being surrounded.
"Give it up kid! Don't make this hard-" Tsuyu's eyes widened and she bolted out of the way just as a massive shadow swam by and rammed the villain. Hearing yelps of surprise Tsuyu saw more shadows dart through the aquatic villains leaving them battered or unconscious with each pass. One of the shadows circled her slowly and the frog girl finally got a good look at it. A massive fish perhaps just smaller than a killer whale floated by Tsuyu. Three yellow eyes on each side of it's head gleamed ominously and the excess of fins, nearly a dozen, flapped slowly, and it's pale blue body was spotted with darker blue splotches. The fish reminded her of ones you would find living deep in the ocean that were thought to be extinct or threatened like the coelacanth.
A creature like this had to be the work of Midoriya, Tsuyu thought, what else could this monster be but her fellow greenette's creation? Tsuyu saw the other 3 fish monsters finish crushing the group of villains before disappearing. The last one that had circled her remained at her side, eyeing her blankly before shifting its back to her. Tsuyu realized what it wanted and climbed aboard the beast which slowly surfaced. Mineta was attached to the boat with his quirk and gave a relieved but fearful look at the frog girl.
"It seems Midoriya-chan has sent use help." Tsuyu explained, seeing the boy's expression turn to full blown relief. He climbed down and joined her on top of the fish monster which slowly ferried them to the water's edge before disappearing, Tsuyu didn't know where Midoriya was but she was thankful nonetheless.

*Izumi POV*
The monster summoning girl watched intently from her perch on the golden raptor bird. Tsuyu and Mineta were out of the shipwreck zone and Izumi was planning on moving from zone to zone but her plans were called to a halt when she saw a strange bird faced creature pin her bloodied sensei. Even worse, the hand covered villain who had a decaying quirk, had just caught sight of the two students she assisted. Izumi quickly summoned 3 of her healing lizards into her arms and a second raptor bird, directing the newly summoned bird to dive towards the villain, Izumi guided the one she was riding towards her downed teacher.
She saw the bird faced creature move to defend the hand villain and Tsuyu, who caught sight of Izumi, grabbed Mineta and made for Aizawa-sensei. Izumi wordlessly summoned the eight legged horse from the quirk test and with Tsuyu's assistance she loaded their sensei onto its back. She handed the ball lizards to the frog girl and the grape boy before she whirled around to see the villain's monster charging them. Izumi's hand glowed and with a quick swipe she provided them with defense.
A large red tortoise, larger than those monster trucks that were popular in the west, hunkered down in front of the students. Its long reptilian tail swished behind it and the coal colored, randomly spiked shell stood strong against the bird faced creature's punch. Large tufts of yellow and green hair grew from the sides of the shell and its powerful wide legs remained rooted in place. The tortoise snapped its jaw forward and clamped onto the opposing creature by the shoulder, keeping it from escaping.
"Tsuyu, please take sensei somewhere safe to be healed." Izumi stated quietly, seeing that her duo of golden birds were flying above, unharmed. "I will keep the villains here."
"M-Midoriya you can't be serious right?" Mineta started until Tsuyu cut him off.
"Right, be safe Midoriya-chan." her fellow greenette nodded and Izumi sent them off. The tortoise's tail wrapped around Izumi, hoisting her up, and she climbed on top of the shell, looking down while the bird faced creature struggled to get out of her monster's grasp and the hand villain scratched at his neck.
"Y-you damn cheating NPC what is this?" The villain raged, "Since when was there an add summoner! Nomu hurry up and escape so you can kill them!" The creature was still locked in the tortoise's jaw and it continued striking the shell to no avail.
Izumi gazed at the struggling creature curiously, "What a strange monster, is it perhaps like mine?" She wondered aloud and pressed a hand to her tortoise, fusing partially to jolt herself awake.
"Nomu is just a pet that was made to kill All Might! Now get out of my way!" He yelled, shaking in absolute rage. The villain was about to take off to use his quirk but two blasts of lightning tossed him back, courtesy of her still circling birds.
Izumi's eyes darkened at what he said, "So this creature means nothing? Is simply a dead husk?" She questioned the stunned villain.
"All it's meant to do is kill All Might! I couldn't care less about anything else!" He roared, no doubt at his rope's end with her.
Izumi suddenly pitied the struggling creature. Created for a sole purpose with no other meaning behind it? Meaning nothing to anyone? No matter when she created creatures, Izumi always did so with pride and the purpose of helping others and she always appreciated what her creations could do. She felt joy as their creator both on paper and when she brought them to life. She would put it out of its misery.
It would be tiring but Izumi no longer had the patience for gathering information. Both her hands glowed and two more of the tortoises came to life, surprising the hand covered villain. He seemed to be confused about what was happening until the two new creatures grabbed onto the Nomu with their jaws. His eyes widened and Izumi stared uncaring at him as they both heard the sickening sound of flesh tearing and bones being smashed.
"N-Nomu has regeneration alongside shock absorption!" The villain proclaimed, perhaps trying to convince himself, Izumi thought. The tortoises continued snapping away at the creature, not devouring it, but continually picking it apart while it tried to heal the damage. The golden birds had landed on each of her sides, still watching for the villain to make an attempt while Izumi stroked their backs occasionally jolting herself awake. The Nomu had stopped struggling and it only stared blankly off into space, so she called off the attack and let the other two tortoises pin it down beneath their legs.
The villain stared in shock and horror before he exploded into a tantrum, "You damn hacker! You had to have cheated! T-that thing was supposed to kill All Might and you ruined it!" He rambled hysterically, clawing at his neck.
The door of the USJ exploded and All Might quickly appeared on the scene. The villain's vicious gaze turned to the man and the warping villain from earlier appeared at his side. "Just you wait 'Symbol of Peace' and you too you damned brat" He growled and the black mist swallowed him whole. Just in time, Izumi thought, her eyes slowly closing. The girl had drifted off to sleep.

*Itsuka POV*
Itsuka had been worried all day after hearing the news and Setsuna clearly was as well. Once they were released Itsuka bolted out of their classroom, intent on finding Izumi. Much to her surprise her best friend stood just outside of the 1-B classroom, snoozing while she waited and Itsuka hurriedly woke her up.
"Izumi! Are you okay? I heard what happened!" She fretted, checking over the smaller girl.
Still dazed, Izumi blinked slowly, "I came to find you," She drawled sleepily to the orange haired girl, surprising Itsuka, "Was a villain attack but I'm okay. Can I...spend some time with you?" Itsuka arched an eyebrow but quickly felt a smile worm its way onto her face.
"Yeah, let's go Izumi." Itsuka nodded. The girls started walking and Izumi turned her head and spotted Setsuna, giving the girl a wave which Setsuna returned. Itsuka could still see the worry in Setsuna's eyes so she gave her a thumbs up to let the sharp toothed girl know everything was okay. Setsuna breathed a sigh of relief and mouthed her thanks.
Itsuka walked beside her friend, who had a small smile on her face, she was glad Izumi was okay.

*All For One POV*
The man sat in his chair while he intently listened to his pupil's rant about a child who could summon monsters strong enough to defeat the specially made Nomu. How interesting! The man couldn't help but be fascinated by quirks, whether it was because of his own or just an obsession with them, he had to know. He would be keeping tabs on this girl. She had piqued his interest.
"Doctor." The man called.
"Yes sir?"
"See if you can find something on that girl." All for One smiled, it had been a while since he was so excited!
A good deal of things to unpack!
Definitely want to do more Momo stuff, Izumi has no 1-A friends currently (I say that like I'm not the one writing this) Also I made her the class president, her battle trial victory helped. Izumi wasn't voted for because they didn't want to mess up her nap times.
I gave a quick overview of some things Izumi had worked on or got better with, I don't always cover all the training, mainly just the extensive stuff, but she's always working on her quirk.
The villain POV. I looked through the manga at the USJ arc and picked one of the villains I saw from there. It was the woman who could control her hair (She's one of the first three that Aizawa knocks out btw) and I placed her in the forest zone. I gave her the name Yura in reference to the character from Inuyasha with the same name that was a hair demon. I basically just needed a name and villain so yeah. Also when I was writing that part I legit started feeling bad for her. I almost want to give her a small cameo later down the line. Yura I am so sorry. Seriously I wanted to cry for her.
I really went a bit harder with the forest scene and Izumi taking care of the Nomu. Yeah I did promise that I'd slowly dive into more unsettling territory. A lot more of that stuff is going to come up later on but of course I'll add warnings and stuff.
On a better note! Izumi went to find Itsuka! Remember when she was attacked by the sludge villain she didn't even mention it. So progress! Setsuna sticking back was cause she knew Itsuka had a better chance of getting Izumi to open up. I'm really putting our favorite dino loving girl through the struggle shuttle huh?
On a scarier note, AFO is now interested in her. Yikes. I have this planned out so no worries I didn't just throw him in on a whim.
Hope you enjoyed and look forward to more updates from me!
