CRASH!

The Pirate with a Scarf woke up with a start. He squinted into the dark room, trying to get his bearings on what the time was and what had made the loud noise that woke him. The sound of heavy rain could be heard beating onto the ship, streaks of water racing down the side of the cabin pothole.

A second loud crash emediatly answered his question as to what made the noise, it was thunder. A sudden tightness around his waist made him turn his attention away from the storm outside. As he looked down, his eyes growing a custom to the dark, he saw the Captain hugging his middle.

"Sir?" He asked, wondering what he was doing. There was another loud crash, and the Captain made a noise that the Pirate with a Scarf had never heard before. It sounded a lot like a dog whimpering because it's owner had accidentally trod on it's tail. The arms around his waist grew slightly tighter.

"Are you... are you afraid of thunder?"

There was no answer, just the feeling of the Captain pulling the other pirate closer. The Pirate with a Scarf smiled at the other man, he'd never seen him like this before. All the other times there had been a thunder storm the Captain had gone into his Cabin, saying that he needed to do some important work and thunder helped him think and he was not to be dister-

Oh

That explained it. CRASH! There was another fearful sound from the Captain. The Pirate with a Scarf shuffled closer to the Captain, wrapping one arm around the Captain's middle, and placing the other hand on the Captain's head and gently stroking his hair. "It's alright," he said, "I'm here, your safe and warm with me."

He felt the Captain moving closer to him, and placing his head on the Pirate with a Scarf's chest. There was another crash and the Pirate with a Scarf felt the Captain flinching against his body. He kissed the top of the Captain's head, continuing to whisper comforting words to him and rubbing small circles into his back.

They stayed like this for a while. Until the Pirate with a Scarf felt the Captain lift his head up to look at him. "You must think I'm such a child right now." The other Pirate looked at the Captain for a few moments and shook his head, "Not at all, everyone is afraid of something. I'd begin to think you weren't human if you didn't have fears. There's nothing to be ashamed of, you have me here now. I can't believe you had to face this by yourself until now, I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you"

"Don't be sorry, I just never wanted you and the lads to see me in that state. I thought you'd all lose respect for me." The Pirate with a Scarf shook his head and smiled, "I don't think any less of you, so you have nothing to worry about. But if you want, I'll keep this a secret from the lads. If it will make you feel better."

"Thank you..." It was barely a whisper. Another loud crash caused the Captain to bury his head back into the Pirate with a Scarf's neck. The other pirate let out a small giggle. "It's not funny" came a smothered response. " I'm sorry, I just think it's cute." "I am NOT cute, I am a terror of the high seas!"

The Pirate with a Scarf laughed a bit more, "I'm sorry I couldn't quite hear that because your face is in my neck."

"I said," said the Captain, taking his head away from the Pirate with a Scarf's neck, "I am NOT cu-"

He was interrupted by the Pirate with a Scarf suddenly leaning forward and kissing him. The Captain soon forgot he was meant to be acting petty and melted into the kiss. That was another loud crash from outside, cause the Captain to accidentally deepen the kiss. Though he didn't mind, nor did the Pirate with a Scarf.

As they parted, the Captain looked at his first mate and said, a little sheepishly, "Can we stay like this for the rest of the night?"

"Of coures" said the Pirate with a Scarf, giving the Captain probably one of the sweetest smiles he ever had done.
