The weather was sunny yet still had a bit of clouds in the air to have a breeze slip by. Everyone in the town had their scheduled plans for the day, it was almost they do the same thing each day, but who can tell at this point? Everyone seemed to have any troubles at all to what it seems, especially a young teacher named Penny. Her short orange locks, with her emerald eyes and complimented her yellow and brown outfit. Some villagers in the town felt bad for this teacher, but everyone had their own things to worry about. No one really payed close attention to this young lady, besides the only two close friends she has, Maru and Sam.

•Pennys POV•

"Penny!"

Oh jeez, is someone calling me? Oh, it's Maru! I walked towards Maru who had already saved my seat on our bench we normally chat and spill any secrets we hear about the town.

"Hey girl! How are ya?" Maru asked me with some excitement in her voice, something must have happened.

"Aha..oh you know, the usual. Just teaching the kids" I chuckled as I set my book in my lap looking up to my friend, raising my brow "What's with the change of tone? Did something happen?"

"Yes! Wow you're good at reading people"

"The perks of being a teacher I suppose" I joked as Maru studied me as if I had a superpower.

"Never mind that, though I will ask later. Anyways, I've heard from my mom that there's going to be someone here!" My friend exclaimed with her hands out.

"Oh, who is it? The governor again?"

"No silly, a new villager! They're living on that farm that was the old guy's who lived there" Maru waved off, "Can you believe it?! A new possible friend!" I could practically see stars in the girls eyes.

"Oh.."

"Oh? Oh what?" Maru questioned me.

"Ohhhh what funnn!" I smiled as hard as I could to show some good expression.

"I know penny, but what if they're not rude like some of the people here already, they could be nice!"

"You're saying they a lot, is this person a girl or guy?"

"Uhhh, aheh not quite sure yet, but guess what! We'll figure it out tomorrow when they arrive!"

"Oh dear! Tomorrow? Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"Because we meet every Sunday here at 4...is that too late in advance?" She scratched her head out of worry. Ugh she should be!

"Yes! But..." I exhaled, "It's fine, it's not like I'll see them around anyway, I've got a busy schedule ahead of me" I look at the sky to see the sun setting down. "It looks like it's getting dark, see you tomorrow Maru?"

"Yes ma'am" she chuckled. While I didn't find it funny at all.

"You know I hate when you call me that, it makes me feel old" We both got up from the bench and gave each other a big hug.

"Well we are 20s hun, we kinda are" she joked, soo not funny!

"Why I might be 24 but I still feel 18!"

"Oh do you now!" Maru laughed as we separated from out of our hug, "we'll see ya soon!" My scientist friend said as she walked away to her home. As I walked to...mine. Must it be 6:40 already?

I exhaled loudly as I opened up my RV door to see my mother passed out on the couch..drunk. Not a surprise at all anymore. I groaned as I picked up her empty beer bottles and toss them in the trash. I grab a blanket and place it on her as I see a smile on her face, she's still my mother after all.

I slumped in my bed, removing the hair bands and pins in my hair to let it loose. I sigh, I tend to do that a lot do I? Oh well, no one can hear me anyways. Tomorrow's a new day. Oh wait! Isn't that new farmer supposed to come tomorrow? Oh hopefully he doesn't speak to me, I'm guessing it's a man. I haven't seen a lot of female farmers recently, so it just has to be a guy. Oh well, off to sleep.

[TIME SKIP]

[END OF PENNY'S POV]

Penny awoke suddenly in her trailer to her name getting called out by her mother, Pam. Penny shrieked as she fell from her bed, landing on her side. She groaned as she waddled from pain to open her door.

"Yes mother?" The orange haired girl asked.

"Did you..did ya fall off your bed?"

"What? No of course not" Penny scoffed.

"A huh... anyways, we're running out of food, you know the usual food"

"You mean your junk food?" Penny smirked.

"Oh whatever, here's some money, now get going kid" Pam gave her 20 bucks...her food costs more than that.

Penny looked at her hand, and squinted at her mother. "That's not...okay i'm going" Penny exhaled as she left her trailer. She crumbled as she grabbed her own money from her purse as she walked into pierres store.

"Good morning Penny!" Pierre exclaimed as all eyes went on her.

"...Morning Pierre" she gritted her teeth as she awkwardly waved at anyone who stared. Penny grabbed a basket and scurried to a nearby aisle.

Penny grabbed what her mother usually gets, junk. She should really eat some fruit, Penny whispered under her breath as she picked some bags of chips. She walked to the other side of the aisle to have her mothers beer...on the top shelf. "Shoot, how am I gonna get that! Unless I just don't get her the alcohol...yea that's a no go. Well I don't wanna ask anyone.." Penny mumbles as she moans in defeat.

"Hey, do you need help with that?"

Penny gasped as she turned around, she gazed at a tall woman.

The new farmer.

"Ahhh, no no it's okay! I can just get it another day" Penny panicked as she awkwardly stared at this stranger.

"Err, hey it's no trouble. Here" the farmer reached for the alcohol with success, with ease as she might say. She had a hold of the beer, as she gazed into the smaller girls eyes. Who got as awkward as Penny. "Uhh, here. Oh wait, you already have a lot in your hands, do you want me to carry it up to Pierre?" The farmer squeaked who's face flushed with embarrassment.

Penny observed her behavior and found it...cute? Penny giggled, "If you don't mind that is". Penny walked in front leading the way for the farmer up to the cash register. As penny payed, the farmer awkwardly stood aside her, not sure of what to do of herself. As penny finished paying with bags in her hand she stared at the farmer, "Would...would you like to help me drop off the alcohol at my home?"

"Oh! Umm, sure! Yea, *ahem* I mean yes" the farmer scratched her head as she let out a chuckle.

The two walked down to Penny's trailer. But as they walked there Penny gazed to the farmer. Her arms are so strong... must be the farming. Her hair was a dark brown and long. Along with her chocolate eyes, with freckles sprinkled across her face. She was built, very built, but still slim that made her caramel skin fit just right. And not to mention her voice was warm and low, which made penny blush faintly as she looked away.

"So" the farmer blurted out which got Penny out of her thoughts, "Whats your name?"

"I'm Penny, and thank you for doing this by the way" She thanked this stranger.

"Oh it's nothing, I have all the time in the world!"

"Sooo..what's your name?" Penny asked her.

"Oh right, sorry! I'm Audrey, pleasure to meet you, Penny" Audrey tried to bow, but she had beer in her hands, so she tried her best, which made Penny giggle.

"She has a nice laugh" The brunette whispered.

"Why thank you"

The farmer yelped "Ah! Sorry, I- my bad" She laughed, "I'm not normally this weird, sorry if I made a bad first impression"

"Oh it's alright, you're all good" Penny giggles as they approach her gray rusty trailer.

The farmer arched her eyebrows as she stared at the home. "You live here? Are you one of those people who explore the world and live in their trailer? Oh that's so cool!" Audreys wide grin faltered when she saw penny squirm awkwardly where she stood, looking down.

Audrey lowered her gaze, "Oh, sorry. But hey it looks great! Not complaining here, haha.." Audrey coughed awkwardly, clearing her throat she added, "Aha..anyways do u..need help putting this inside?"

"No it's quite alright. I can just make a second trip, stay here please" Penny stayed as she walked inside her home, leaving a bit open for the farmer to see. Not giving her much time to make it out she opened her door to grab the beer from Audreys hands. "Thank you again, Audrey" Penny thanked as she softly closed her door.

The farmer stared at the door, she smacked herself on her head. "Stupid! You made it sound like you made fun of her! Dammit Audrey, do you ever think before you speak! And now Penny might never talk to you again! And she was really cute, dammit!" The farmer spoke to herself as she started to walk away from the gray trailer. Which Penny heard as she stayed near the door, which made her blush. "Cute" she mumbled to herself.

"Penny"

The orange haired girl shrieked as she turned around, and quickly sighed out of relief. "Mother! Hi, hello! I got your food like you asked" Penny speed walked towards their fridge and put in the drinks and food inside.

"Who were ya talkin to?" Pam asked her daughter.

"Oh, the new farmer mom" Penny fixed her skirt.

"Ah Audrey! She's sweet. Helped me with my dry throat, very helpful gal I gotta say" Pam remembered while she got up from the couch and sauntered to the fridge to grab herself a beer.

"Wait. You've met her?"

"Sure have, nice gal. You should keep her around, she could help me more" Pam chortled as she sat back down on the couch, drinking away.

"Maybe.." Penny looked out the window.

"Yanno the dishes got your name on em"

"Yes mom.."
