"Make sure to look for the signs in order to see, whether they really are into you or not! But before we start, turn on the notification eye-con-

– Okay, look, I don't give a damn! – The white-haired demon led out a long and annoyed sigh. The handy electronic device that was resting in the tan palms of his hands nearly got shattered into little pieces. – Why can't they just get to the point already?! Ain't no demon has time for this nonsense!

And yet, despite all these fits of uncontrollable frustration, the white-haired demon kept on watching these videos on DevilTube. No matter how much these videos were flooded with endless (or so he thought) commercials and fillers, Mammon hated to admit that he needed to know the valuable information they might hold. Oh no, he was desperate to know!

The story didn't start that long ago and one may think that there was nothing to be written about. This just further demonstrates – there wasn't a story yet. In Mammon's wishes, his story would turn out to be a romantic-epic, starring him and that stupid, air-headed, forgetful, mortal, and strange and yet amusing human. But it wasn't like he liked her or anything, of course not! He only dreams about holding her tight and never letting go, catching her every glance and just hoping that one day he might steal a kiss from her. Oh, you know, something that he is certainly capable of doing, because he is THE Mammon, if it wasn't for-

"Number one: commitment. If they like you, they would look for ways to meet you and make plans with you!"

Huh. Well that does make sense, sure. The demon nods his head.

– Yeah, okay, well then tell me WHY THE HELL IS SHE OUT WITH LEVI AND NOT WITH ME?!

And it wouldn't be such a tough task to deduct that she would have gladly gone somewhere with Mammon, if she wasn't this shy. She was frequently seen with Leviathan, but only because he could give her advices on her current state. That guy knew all about wooing someone. How many relationships did he have again? Well, not many…Okay, less than ten…Fine, there were less than five. Divide the number by zero and get an error. Congratulations, you've done the math assignment! Nevertheless, shyness was an obstacle for Kimiko. If only Avatar of Greed was a tad bit brighter, things would have moved along way smoother. Problem was, the demon hung out at her place quite frequently, but never mustered up the courage to ask her out on a date. Of course, the chaotic element that were his brothers, also affected the situation. How would you feel, if you had six potential rivals that just may happen to like this girl as well? Was the trouble all worth it? That question is better to not be raised, if one wants to keep their face and wallet intact.

But Mammon was not the one who lacked commitment. He was her "first man" she made a pact with, her first "adviser" and…well, he wanted to be her first in everything. So commitment from such a scummy, irresponsible demon was not an issue, surprisingly. It was more about-

"–feeling of being rejected! Sometimes you just don't want to risk it all. What if they don't feel the same? Your precious friendship will be ruined. Shattered. Murdered. Torn to shreds"

– Okay, that was a little too specific there, pal, – gulped the second-born, turning his gaze away from his D.D.D. Rubbing his fear in certainly did not make things better for the demon. When was he ever concerned about the consequences? When was he ever afraid to get whatever he wanted? Why would he care about her, out of all people?!

– Number two: they care about you. Whenever you feel sad or blue, they always rescue you. They want to keep you company and they tend to all your needs. They will never hurt you or leave you"

The Avatar of Greed hesitated: was he checking his own feelings or his human's? Because already his list was full and he just once again confirmed: he's got it bad. Everything that was said by these "gurus" was true. Mammon wondered how in the Devildom these people could know about his feelings than himself. He looked like a teenage girl, sitting in her room, listening to sappy love music and writing in her diary. Except Mammon lived in the world way longer than all these video-makers he had watched (he lost count at seventeenth video). In fact, all these ages multiplied by ten – and he still was older. Crazy, how little experience he had in these things. First true love, huh?

–And she is a freaking human… – sighed Mammon, turning his D.D.D. off and rubbing his eyes. Hours upon hours were wasted, since the poor demon didn't figure out, whether Kimiko loved him back or not. He was so embarrassed and fidgety applying all these items from the lists of signs to himself that he completely forgot to judge Kimiko's actions on these criteria. He would get embarrassed, distracted, angry, rinse and repeat. He would do everything else, besides seeing the obvious hints. Did his human like him? Absolutely. There was no way to deny it – and she wouldn't even dare to. If she was asked directly, whether he liked her or not, oh, she would have turned into a mess, melting like a candle in all her warm feelings and love for THE Greatest Mammon. If he only had the guts to kabedon her to a wall and be just a little more pushy – bingo! She would have cracked. It wasn't like the demon did not think of approaching her head-on. These feelings of his would play you a whole dang orchestra f they could be put to music – that's just how unbearable and overwhelming it all was! But this would be too much, right? This would be too mean to her, would it not? She would cry. Mammon knew how much stress the poor girl had to deal with since she has moved to Devildom. And the last thing he wanted to see were her tears of fear. And he would get rejected – he was so certain about it!

–It's hopeless… – concluded Mammon, before scrolling through his phone gallery. He cherished every picture he took with Kimiko. Seeing her bright smile and shiny eyes could make him the happiest demon alive. And holding her in his arms, kissing, seeing her face whenever he pleased? Heck, even Celestial Realm did not sound this good to him! If only he could see the signs…
