A/N – After watching a 'recommended for you' youtube video this morning, I've had this song stuck in my head. Got an image of Jack and Ianto… so this happened.

If you haven't heard the song – it's from the musical Miss Saigon. It's really beautiful.

Sun and Moon

It was very late… or early… depending on your point of view, the moonlight shone through a break in the curtains of Ianto's bedroom. Jack lay with his back to the window, propped up on one elbow watching the younger man sleep. The blue light of the moon made Ianto's already pale skin almost glow.

Jack placed his hand on Ianto's chest, feeling his heartbeat. He was struck by how the permenant tan of his skin contrasted so deeply with the ivory skin of the man beside him. So different… both of them.

Jack was a blazing sun… a furnace of life… an everlasting fire.

Ianto was a cool moon… taking Jack's fire and reflecting back… still full of light, but controlled.

What accident of time or fate had transpired that allowed them to come together? So many little things happened to make this moment in time possible.

The light through the window began to change. It was that oh-so-brief moment between night and day when the sun and the moon shared the sky.

Jack smiled. He would treasure every second of it.
