They´ve been around for weeks now, being chased by some Imps and some other Bounty Hunters. Din decided it´s time to search for a new, save hideout to lay low for some time. The Razor Crest made it´s way to an unnamed, small moon, which was over 90% covered in Jungle. „No one will find us here." the Mandalorian explained and turned to the child, which was sitting in the seat right behind him. The little green fellow cooed back and wiggled his ears in excitement.

The ramp touched the ground and Din stepped out of his ship, scanning the environment for any danger. „Ok, looks like we´re alone here. Except for some small animals." Din said and the Child, who was hidden behind his leg, took a cautiousl look around. „I didn´t know, you can be so shy, little one." Mando said, picking him up. They were surrounded by nothing but trees and a small lake in front of them. The air was thick and damp, even Din noticed that through his helmet.

„Ok, since we seem to be all alone here, we gonna have to sleep in the Razor Crest. There won´t be any logging for us here. But I think it might be better not to be seen by anyone. Remember that accident at the village on Sorgan?" Djarin said to the Child, who just nodded.

Din started to set up a small camp, with two chairs, a table and a little firepit. „Fine, are you in for some hunting? Bet you are hungry like me." he said determinded and the Child lifted his ears and smiled at him. Mando grabbed his rifle and strapped the Kid onto his back. They roamed through the forest, looking for some delicate deer or something, that could be roasted over a campfire.

It took them for about half an hour for them to find anything suitable. But suddenly, Din recognized a flock of fat, white feathered birds. He remembered hunting for these with his father once. „Dinner is ready..." he mumbled and took cover. Quietly he laid down on his stomach, taking aim. The child watched exactly what he did, lowered his ears and held his breath. Din felt him ducking behind his helmet, his small claws clutching his cape on the back of his neck.

A few seconds later his first shot hit his prey, another moment later, the second shot found its way. „Those will look great roasted." Din said cheerfully and collected his prey. They made their way back to the Razor Crest and prepared their BBQ. Soon the Bird was ready to get on the grill. „Ok, I think we´re done for now, it will take some time until it´s ready to eat." the Mandalorian said, looking after the fire.

The Child walked around the camp, but suddenly he cooed at his father. „What is it?" he asked and Din picked him up. The Child pointed at the lake in front of them. The sun was going down and its orange light, shimmered on the quiet water. „It´s beautiful, isn´t it?" he asked, but the Child wanted to get closer to the water. „Do you want to take a bath?" Din asked him. The little one cooed back in excitement. The Mandalorian sighed. They went close to the shore. Din took one of his gloves off to check if the water is warm and safe enough for him. Fortunately it was quite tempered and clear.

He took off the Kids clothes and placed him into the shallow water. The Child was chirping happily and splashed around. Din smiled underneath his helmet, secretly wishing for joining him to take a refreshing round of swimming. But soon he remembered, that their dinner might be ready. „Ok, enough splashing for now. Time to eat, little womp rat." he said and picked the Kid out of the water. He was a little disapointed at first, but as soon as he heard that dinner was ready, he already had forgotten about the lake.

Din prepared the meat for the little guy. The Child was so hungry, that he almost bit Din´s finger. „Wow easy, there´s plenty enought for the both of us." he chuckled and gave the Child some bread and water in addition. Soon the Kid was full and almost bursting at the seams. He rubbed his little belly and his eyes got heavy. „I think it´s bedtime for you." Mando said and placed the Child in his pram. It took only minutes and he was asleep.

Now it was time for himself to eat something. Din removed his helmet and took a deep breath. The air was filled with the scent of roasted chicken and the smell of the forest. He placed the helmet on the table and sat down on his chair. „I´m getting better at this." he mumbled to himself while eating a jucy wing. After he finished his meal, he leaned back and strechted his legs and arms. It was still pretty warm and Din decided to go for a quick jump into the lake.

He checked the surroundings once more and closed the pram of the Child. After that he made his way to the shore, making sure that the Razor Crest and the Kid were still in sight. It took a few minutes to get off his Beskar and clothes, but soon he felt the damp air covering his naked body. The water was warm and felt amazing, he took a quick dive and just enjoyed the moment. The sun was almost down, so he swam back to the shore and put his pants back on. The beskar won´t be needed for today anymore, he thought and carried it back to the Razor Crest. He went inside his ship and grabbed a towel to dry his wet hair.

Becauses it was still warm outside, he remained shirtless and took a seat in his chair at the campfire again. The pram was right beside him so he could always make sure, the Kid was alright. The little one was snoring inside and Din opened the hatch again to let some fresh air in but he shoved the Pram in front of him, so the Kid would not see him, if he would wake up. His helmet was still placed on the table. Din leaned back and closed his eyes for a moment.

He actually never had been on any kind of vacation, but it felt like to him now. He just wished, that they could stay here for a while. The past few months were exhausting, stressful and dangerous. He felt, that he actually needed this break and the Kid needed some time, to be a kid. There would be plenty of time to search his homeplanet later.

Din almost fell asleep but a sudden noise from the bushes woke him up immediately. Quickly, he put his helmet on and grabbed his blaster, which was also laying on the table. „Who´s there?" he called and aimed at the bushes. „Show yourself!" he called a little louder.

But suddenly the noise vanished and Din stepped closer for investigation. Since it was dark now, he had to switch on his helmet light. He pulled away some branches of the bushes and looked at a strange figure on the ground.

He stepped closer, feeling some branches scratching on his bare skin. On the gound there laid a small creature panting in agony. It looked like some kind of Ewok, but it had less fur. Maybe a local form. Cautiously Din turned it on his back, the body felt feverish. „Hey, can you hear me? What´s wrong with you?" he asked the small Creature. It just mumbled something, Din couldn´t understand. „Hey, how can I help you?" Din called, trying to figure out what´s wrong with him.

The creature was shaking, like it had some kind of seizure. Din let go of it, he knew, it wouldn´t make it any longer. Suddenly the creature looked at him. „It´s here..." it mumbled and his eyes shut. The body relaxed until there was no movement anymore. „What is here?" Din asked and shook him, but the creature was already dead. The Mandalorian sighed, he didn´t know what actually happened here. Maybe the Ewok was just sick, maybe he just missunderstood. He didn´t know.

With mixed feelings he returned to the Razor Crest, checking if the child was ok. But he was sleeping soundly. Din sterilized his hands, because he was a little concerned, that the creature might have transfered some bacteria or else on him. He decided, that it was time to go to sleep now. As soon as he had let the pram hover into the Razor Crest, he engaged the ground safety protocols.

For the last time he checked on the Child and climbed in his bunk. Din took his helmet off and was alsleep in a matter of minutes. A few days passed and he almost forgot about the incident with the creature. Din and the Child were just enjoying their time off. The Kid enjoyed being in the lake and the Mandalorian was glad, he hadn´t be on alert all the time. He really thought, they finally have found a save place to stay.

One night, Din jerked awake from his sleep. He had a weird dream, which he couldn´t actually remember. He rubbed his eyes and took a deep breath. Suddenly he heard a weird noise. The Child was sobbing, which was weird to him. Since they had been travelling together, Din had never heard him cry, actually this was the first time, he acted like a toddler. Quickly he put his helmet on and sled out of his bunk. „Are you okay?" he asked and turned to the Child, who had swollen, watery eyes. „Hey, what is it?" Din said softly and picked him up. The little one started coughing and shivered.

„Are you cold?" the Mandalorian asked and put his hand on the Kids forehead. It was a little warm, but nothing to worry about. The Child coughed again and snuggled up to Din´s chest. „Hey, it´s okay." he said and rubbed the little ones back. But the Kid was still freezing a little, so Mando decided to let him sleep in his bed tonight.

He laid down again and covered the Child and himself with his blanked. Din still felt the Kid shivering. But the little one snuggled closer to his chest, warming up on the Mandalorians body heat. Ten Minutes later, Din felt the Child calmed down and falling asleep. His little hands held the fabric of Mando´s shirt and Din put his hands on the Kids back.

„Good Night, little Womp Rat." he whispered and closed his eyes. Although he felt wide awake a few minutes ago, the feeling of the Child snuggeling to him soothed him instantly.
