Cause and Effect of Failed Plan

Chapter 1

It was a beautiful and peaceful day in Mushroom Kingdom. The sun was shining in the cloudless sky, flowers were blooming and Toads were spending their days with no worries.

Unfortunately the peacefulness didn't last long. Suddenly the citizens of Mushroom Kingdom saw an ominous airship appearing seemingly out of nowhere and flying through the air towards the castle. After they recognized the insignia on the airship, Toads began running around in panic.

"It's Bowser's airship! He's here again!"

Honestly. Is anybody even surprised?

In the cockpit of the airship the Koopa king Bowser stood with his arms crossed over his chest and stared at the forthcoming Mushroom Kingdom's castle. Near Bowser were standing Kamek, the Koopalings and rest of his faithful minions, ready to fulfill their ruler's orders.

"Your highness! We are in shooting range," informed one of Koopa Troopa minions who were piloting the airship.

"Fire!" Bowser ordered as he pointed forward with his index finger.

The cannon placed at the front of the airship was aimed and shot a large cannonball into the castle's wall, leaving cracks on it. Bowser's minions shot with the cannon a second time and then a third time until they had made a huge hole on the wall. Through the hole Bowser and his minions saw princess Peach, her steward Toadsworth, the heroes of the kingdom and Bowser's archenemies Mario and Luigi and a group of Toads standing in the castle's hall.

A cruel smirk arose on Bowser's face when he saw surprised and shocked expressions on the faces of the people in the castle and how uselessly protectively Mario was standing in front of Peach.

"Begin the second phase! And with full forse!" Bowser ordered his minions.

"Yes, your evilness!"

The cannon was retracted and in its place appeared a some kind of tube that was aimed towards the hole. Mario and Luigi stood in battle stance and stared the tube anxiously while Toadsworth told Peach to go a safe distance.

The tube began blowing a strong current of air inside the castle, causing Toadsworth and Toads flew to the other side of the hall. Mario and Luigi struggled against the air current but eventually the brothers too were blowed away.

The tube was turned off and the air current stopped but it didn't mean that the attack was over yet. The tube was directed towards the princess and after it was turned on again, it began sucking air. Peach exclaimed when her feet rose from the floor and she was sucked inside the tube.

Bowser turned and stared expectantly at the other end of the tube that was brought to the cockpit. He didn't need to wait long when the tube suddenly spat out the princess, straight into the open cage. A Hammer Bro minion standing next to the cage slammed the cage's door shut and locked it.

"Welcome aboard, Peach," Bowser said with smirk.

"Bowser!" Peach exclaimed with frustrated tone as she stood up and dusted the hem of her dress. "Not again!"

"You know me, darling. I never give up," Bowser said smugly. Then he turned back to his minions. "We got what we wanted. Let's return back to Dark Land."

"Yes, Lord Bowser!" minions shouted with one mouth. The airship was turned away the castle and flew towards Dark Land.

"You can't win, Bowser. Mario will rescue me, like always," Peach said to Koopa king.

"You shouldn't be so sure, Peach," Bowser said calmly. "This time I'm going to be victorious. I have planned this weeks and my minions are ready to fight Mario at any moment."

"Now that you mentioned it, Lord Bowser…"

"What now?" Bowser asked as he turned to face Iggy who had appeared behind him.

Iggy jabbed his thumb towards the airship's controlling mechanism, his usual grin on his face. "According to the Meddlesome Plumber Radar, Mario has gone after us."

Bowser snorted. "He has no idea what's waiting for him. Larry!"

The youngest of the Koopalings straightened his posture when he heard his name. "Your orders, Lord Bowser?"

"You're the first who will supervise the showdown between Mario and the minions. Assemble your squad and prepare yourselves for the fight," Bowser said to Larry.

"Yes, Lord Bowser!" Larry said.

"And! Remember what we talked earlier," Bowser said sternly. "You must take care that the plan is successful. Failure isn't an option!"

"I swear I won't fail, Lord Bowser," Larry reassures eagerly.

"Then what are you waiting for? Get your squad before we leave you at your post," Bowser ordered.

Larry saluted quickly before he left the cockpit vigorously.

The rest of the Koopalings stared after their brother who disappeared out the cockpit's door.

"Aawww, look at our baby brother. He tries to act coolly but he is still so full of childlike eagerness," Iggy chuckled.

"I wonder what his plan is? He seemed to be pretty enthusiastic about it," Wendy wondered aloud.

"Whatever it is, I hope it's useful," Ludwig stated.
