Hello, fellow Ranger fans! Welcome to one big Ranger crossover event! S.P.D. has always been one of my favorite seasons, along with Jungle fury, hence the creation of this fanfic. I also threw in some elements of Shattered Grid, as you will see as the story goes along.
This is my first long story, which may be split into multiple parts, hence part one in the title. As usual, reviews are welcomed!
And with that…I give you…
Power Rangers S.P.D.: Magenta Volume 1
Chapter One: Rangers Past and Present
"And then, Hamhock came in from out of nowhere! I said, 'Should've delivered in uniform.'" The Tiger Master recounted dramatically.
"And then morphed, right Casey?" A young girl's voice asked. She was only about five years old, with brown hair and matching eyes. She listened intently to his story like it was his life's blood.
"Jungle beast, spirit unleashed!" She exclaimed. "Exactly, Little Cub." Casey grinned. "Then, I broke out my…"
Two other figures watched the spectacle in the loft of Jungle Karma Pizza, home to the Jungle Fury Rangers. "He's really enjoying teaching this." The man wearing a blue uniform mused.
"Of course he is, Theo." A woman in a yellow one replied. She started sweeping the training mat for an upcoming session. "You know how much Devyn loves hearing about our Ranger days."
"No doubt she now wants to follow in our footsteps." He followed her around as she worked. She looked down thoughtfully before she spoke. "Do you think we should tell her? About her…"
"No." Theo replied firmly. She cocked her head. "No?"
"Lily, she's not ready. With that much power in her, she'll be compromised. We'll be compromised. He could come and find her. That's not what they wanted for her."
She sighed. "But when? We can't hide it forever."
Before Theo could answer, Casey called, "Alright! Training time!"
He descended the stairs of the loft, Devyn scampering ahead excitedly. "Yay!"
Theo and Lily joined them on the training floor. "Ready to learn how to not die in a fight?" Theo quipped.
"And how to kick bad guy's butts?" Devyn asked. That got a chuckle from them all. "And that." Lily added.
"When I grow up, I wanna be a Ranger, just like you guys!" She smiled a gap-toothed grin, which Lily returned. "I have no doubt you will, Dev."
…
Somewhere an alarm clock beeped. I groaned and turned over in my small excuse for a bunk bed. I wanted nothing more than to return to the abyss of sleep and relive memories of a simpler time. Better than to face my dear beloved C-Squad this early in the morning.
Oh man, I forgot! I nearly shot out of bed and bumped my head on the top bunk. Today was the day! The day I had waited and trained for nearly eighteen years was here. Good I got up this early.
It was still dark, so I used my powers to summon a soft candlelight glow. I quickly dressed myself in the black C-Squad getup and smoothed my brown/magenta hair. It was where I got my nickname around S.P.D. Earth Station. My real name, though, is Cadet Devyn Riley. Proud Phoenix Master of the Order of the Claw.
My brain was practically bouncing around my room; that's how nervous I was. By the end of today, I could finally call myself a B-Squad cadet. No naysaying C or D-squad could stop me now.
Of course, it helped I had great teachers. On my nearby desk, a picture of Master Casey, Master Theo, Master Lily, Master R.J., and Master Dominic sat framed in silver. Their smiles were always one of the first things that greeted me every day. And one of the best things to do so, in my crazy-mixed-up world.
"Thanks for everything, guys." I said softly. "I'll make you proud."
Today, I was no longer the girl from Ocean Bluff.
No longer the girl with the bow and arrow.
Today, I would be a Ranger.
