I feel I made a lot of errors in this one.

Chapter 3 To Wave! 2

Naruto easily caught up with his team, since they were travelling at a slow pace so their client could keep up. During the demon brothers encounter and with Kakashi's busy hiding himself, Naruto quickly replaced with his clone, dispelling it, getting all it's memories.

The clone thought the situation properly when he figured the original would be late. It left behind the ninja tools it had purchased for the mission and the the outfit he knew the original would wear (which consisted of a dark blue loose longsleeved Chinese style T-shirt with orange leaf patterns covering a third of it, black Shinobi pants that stopped over his ankles, and finally black and orange regular Shinobi sandals. Naruto's hands were wrapped in black bandages, with numerous seals drawn (in white) covering them. Two regular sized scrolls hung where his holster should've been, and his headband remained the same).

Naruto's clone had neatly folded and placed his clothes next to his packed bag. Naruto guessed the clone henged to look like it was dressed the same way and armed, it was fortunate his henge was different from the regular ones else Kakashi would've easily noticed. So when he caught up with them, with Kakashi distracted for a bit, it was child's play to replace himself with his clone without anyone noticing.

Upon getting the influx of memories, Naruto grabbed Sakura by the wrist, while Sasuke readied to take on the two rogue Chunin. Naruto immediately pulled her behind himself.

"Stay behind me and protect the old man, Sasuke and I will take out the trash."

"Hai."

She knew this wasn't regular Naruto talking, or horny control freak Naruto either. This was the adult in Naruto speaking. The one who'd trained her and Hinata and when he gave an instruction, Sakura and Hinata learnt, you follow it without question.

He immediately started to move out of the way, but Sasuke smirked then turned to face Naruto and his brother.

He was not the target.

"Katon: Gokakyu no jutsu!."

"BROTHER! LOOK OUT!."

Too little. Too late.

His eyes were wide and teary as he saw his bother's body get scorched and literally blown apart by the jutsu. He had no time to react.

And the last surviving nuke nin soon found out that he WAS the target, but not Sasuke's.

"Aloha."

A clone of Naruto that the hadn't even seen him create nor knew when it snuck up to him, suddenly smashed it's fists into the back of his head, knocking him out.

"Aloha?." Sasuke asked.

"It sounded cool in my head." Naruto just said with a grin, while the Uchiha 'hn'd' but still smirked.

Sakura immediately moved to bind the fallen rogue nin, swapping with Sasuke who was now protectively guarding Tazuna, while Naruto was on the watch for anything suspicious.

On cue as all of them but Tazuna expected, Kakashi came out of the woods. The look in his eyes... Naruto had never seen him stare at them with so much pride before. They had just worked like a perfectly balanced team, not a hitch, no added dialogue just action and beautiful teamwork. Where had he gone right with these three?, he wasn't sure but thank Kami he had.

"Well done you three." He said genuinely happy at their display.

"I thought you died!." Tazuna screamed.

"Lucky for you I didn't. Now explain. This is by no means a C rank mission, these men were targeting you, and they're popular rogue ninjas from Kirigakure. So Tazuna, what exactly is going on?."

The man sighed then explained everything.

"What's the call, Kakashi-sensei?." Sasuke surprisingly asked. Kakashi decided he liked this 'on the mission' Sasuke better than the brooding one.

"We'll continue. I think we can handle whatever is ahead, but we'll have to... Work something out as regards to our payment. Will that be okay Tazuna?."

"Y-yes!. T-thank you so much!."

Kakashi just eye smiled. He wasn't speaking out his ass when he made those claims. His Genin were outright scary. He'd heard Gai boost about his 'youthful Genin team', saying they could all easily beat Chunin now. Kakashi guessed he could go brag that his team had actually killed and defeated two nuke nins popular for their teamwork, using a better show of teamwork.

Kakashi actually held his team back from real missions, not because of their inability to handle the situation, but because these kids scared the hell out of him. They grew way to fast, not as fast as he did in his younger days, but unlike him they matured and actually relied on others. Sakura wholeheartedly took the role of support and even she contributed to today's bout. Kakashi wouldn't have noticed if not for his experience around the kids, but he almost chuckled as he watched Sakura trap the nin in front of Naruto in a genjutsu. So it was actually her who had created the first opening. And boy did her teammates pounce on it. Sasuke was more into direct combat and he was sure the Uchiha would trash a majority of Chunin that he knew in a fight. Sasuke was more than happy to be the spearhead of the team since the Uchiha loved to fight. It helped that he was packing a lot of fire power, literally, after forcing him to teach him more fire jutsu. His taijutsu was very good, so when the boy finally got his sharingan he'd be kicking lots of ass and taking names.

And finally, Naruto. The unofficial team leader. Kakashi found out soon after the bell test that Naruto was far stronger than he let on. Wanting to see how much the blonde had grown, he challenged him to a fight. Kakashi won, but not easily. Naruto was a far more troublesome opponent than he expected, with his shadow clones. He didn't sustain any serious injury or actually take a solid hit, but Naruto made him stay on his toes time and time again. The Uzumaki's combination of shadow clones and the substitution technique was enough to frustrate even Gai. And he was as patient as can be, I mean he is Hyūga Neji, one of the sisters of fate's sensei. Every time Kakashi thought he had Naruto, it would either be a clone or he would immediately substitute with a clone, and if not for his face mask, Naruto would see a scowl deeply etched on Kakashi's face. Naruto also had an unnatural mastery of the wind element, being able to use it without doing hand seals and such, his Katon secondary element was also quite terrifying since his flames burned white hot if he concentrated long enough, and that was without adding his wind element. Kakashi didn't want to find out what happens if Naruto used a collaboration of both. Naruto had a decent sized jutsu arsenal, relying more on his raw talent for wind manipulation more than anything. He was very fast and better than even Sasuke in taijutsu, but he still needed a little work there since his style left him wide open and vulnerable to attacks at some points. But what terrified Kakashi the most was that he had ALREADY started learning how to use the kyuubi's chakra and could safely maintain a three tailed cloak. Naruto didn't fight him then, he just took him straight to the Hokage mansion.

Kakashi was left stunned when then man just shrugged and said he already knew, and that it was fine. After all, he was the one who advised Naruto to keep his progress a secret until he graduated. Why he dragged himself all the way down to the bottom of the class was anybody's guess, and Hiruzen was willing to bet the boy just wanted to make himself the underdog who shattered everybody's perception of him. Kakashi was put at ease when the Third told him Tenzo was always in the vicinity when Naruto trained in using 'it'. Naruto of course didn't know who this Tenzo was but he guessed he must've been the guy Kyuubi felt watching him whenever he was doing his jinchuriki training. Though the blonde was confused a bit when he felt three other Shinobi shadowing him on different occasions, until he discussed it with the old man.

Kakashi finally asked how strong Naruto truly was and the blonde boastfully claimed he could trouble even the Hokage. The old man chuckled and just shrugged claiming he was old and would more or less go easy on Naruto since he was... well, Naruto. He was by no means Kage lvl... Yet. Kakashi felt very comfortable taking on this mission with a Genin who could stand amongst the elites of the village if he so wished. With him and Naruto here there should be no problems, unless Orochimaru jumped in out of nowhere and challenged them to a death match, or Uchiha Itachi decided he wanted to finish what he started. Kakashi pushed away those thoughts and looked at the backs of his three bickering students and eye smiled.

'The only reason I held you three back is because I was scared for the world when you all reach your primes.'

He glanced at the unconscious demon brother then pulled him away. Time to get answers and then... Put him to sleep.

The rest of the trip went as Kakashi expected. They ran into Momochi Zabuza as he knew they would, and with Naruto's help, he was able to take down the rogue Kiri nin with minimal difficulty. However before he could end it, a hunter nin who he guessed as a fake came in trying to bail the 'dead' man who Kakashi guessed was her partner. Death was what he was going to give her, but she was quick, quicker than he anticipated. She used an ice mirror to block his path then immediately dodged fire balls and kunais from his Genin, before grabbing Zabuza and escaping. The man was seriously injured so Kakashi knew they had time, and with his highly skilled companion, they would need to prepare more. They were currently in the house of the bridge builder Tazuna, strategizing their next course of action.

"I think we should just stay close to Tazuna-san and protect him and his workers while they're working on the bridge, for now." Sakura suggested.

"No. Gato's ace is weak right now, we should take Zabuza out now that he's still licking his wounds." Sasuke said.

Naruto stroked his chin. "We don't know where they are though."

"You're our tracker dobe, with your clones, chakra sensory and nose we could find them in two days tops."

Kakashi nodded to that. Sensors were invaluable, and Naruto was the very best sensor he knew, even the Yamanaka clan didn't have many as sharp as him. The high chakra reserves and kage bunshin was also a blessing from above. Naruto could sweep the entire country in a couple of days, give or take. And with Zabuza's high chakra reserves (if he had regenerated it already) and the Hyoton user's unique chakra signature due to her bloodline, they would be like screaming beacons for Naruto. Sasuke made a point.

"How do we know it's just them though?. Gato could've hired an S rank nin for all we know!." Sakura said, trying to make the impatient boy see reason.

"I doubt that." Naruto said making Sakura raise an eyebrow.

"What do you mean?." She asked.

Kakashi was the one to answer "There are less than thirty known S-rank ninjas in the entire world, and the number of them that would actually work for Gato is downright miniscule. The only S-rank nin I know who could possibly work for Gato is the bounty hunter, Kakuzu. He went of the grid for a couple years now. Not to mention he makes all his cash through bounties, nothing more. So he would only entertain siding with Gato if he somehow knew I'd be coming here and he was promised both Zabuza's and my head."

"Z-Zabuza's head too?." Sakura stammered out. Not that she wasn't concerned for her sensei, but she was a bit put out by the fact that Zabuza's client would have to offer him as well to procure one S-rank nin's services. The Shinobi world was no joke.

"It's a valuable head." Kakashi said and Sasuke snorted in amusement. "He did try to assassinate the Mizukage, you know?. The only Kiri nins with a bounty higher than his are Hoshigaki Kisame and the leader of the Kiri rebels, who I hear is a lady with two bloodlines, and they're both S rank, with a combined kill count of over four thousand."

Sakura paled while Naruto patted her back, saying 'there there'.

"I think we'll go with Sasuke's suggestion, sorry Sakura. Naruto you will go out and try to locate Zabuza and his subordinate. Also try to find Gato's hideaway, because I'm pretty sure he has a failsafe and it's definitely not S or A rank. Zabuza wouldn't take the job without checking if a high profile character's hanging around Gato, he's far too cautious for that. Sasuke and Sakura will help me with guarding Tazuna, we'll work in shifts so the others can rest or train. When you feel you're tired return IMMEDIATELY, Naruto. Don't overexert yourself. Are we at an agreement?." Kakashi asked. The three Genin nodded their heads affirmative.

"Good. Now–"

"Why do you bother fighting Gato?. No one can beat him!, you're only gonna get yourselves killed!." A young boy who the team didn't know was in the house said.

"Wow look Sasuke!, it's your emo twin expect he's more of a whiny little bitch than emo!." Naruto said.

"Don't associated me with the bitch!." Sasuke said with a growl.

Sakura whacked the both of their heads. "Don't call the bitch a bitch! he could be Tsunami-san's son!."

Kakashi sighed at the antics of his team then turned to the little boy with an apologetic eye smile. "Sorry bitch-san, they're a little grumpy from the hunter nin eluding us."

Tazuna by this time was comically red in anger. "Oi! Don't call my bitch a grandson!."

Tsunami sweatdropped at the scene of the four ninjas and her father argue over who shouldn't call who what, the word 'bitch' randomly flying around constantly as they 'fought'. Her sweatdrop got larger as she saw her father angrily stomped his feet while shouting 'bitch' every time his feet met wood. Tsunami's eye twitched as the rowdy bunch continued screaming at each other.

"YOU BITCHES BETTER STOP CUSSING IN MY HOUSE!."

They immediately stopped and gave a collective 'Yes ma'am'.

Inari for one didn't know what to even say now, he just stomped off in annoyance at not even saying his mind and being called a bitch.

He was utterly defeated, not at any point did he seem to have an advantage. Hatake Kakashi was all over him like a rash, and he had no problem exchanging hits with Kubikiribōchō with nothing but a kunai, he was also far faster and more skillful than her master could keep up continuously with. Not to mention her master's usual tactic of using his special mist was foiled by the blonde boy who seem to be a master of the wind element. The boy kept his distance, knocking Zabuza's balance off with burst of winds whenever he was chanced, and his sensei was more than willing to pounce. Her master of course had seen that the boy's presence made his tactic as good as useless, so opted to bait Kakashi with a close then blitz the Genin.

Big mistake.

She was able to grab Zabuza, rip the seal off his sword and grab it too before fleeing the scene and then hual assing back to their hideout. She didn't want to find out what would happen if she tried to gather herself not too far from the Konoha ninjas. It confused her how sharp and strong they were. Zabuza always told her how pathetic the Konoha ninja system was compared to Kiri,.and how they were just a bunch of tree hugging naive clowns trying to play ninja. He had been proven right on numerous occasions when their target was a ninja from Konoha..However, yesterday he finally encountered an elite of the village and was destroyed. Haku highly doubted he would've won if it was just the Hatake or worse the boy fighting him. She had not realized how suspectable he was to wind jutsus until yesterday, apparently neither was Zabuza, since he seemed unable to come up with an answer for the situation. It was not a surprise now she thought about it, Zabuza never traveled beyond Water, Wave and Fire country, the best business was here he said, and wind users were as scarce as a talking horse in these parts.
