Chapter One

Blurry blue eyes glared at the crumpled paper clenched in quivering hands. Her whole body was shaking with anger, the tears spilling over to trail down her cheeks. The action only upset her more, she was not crying because she was sad or hurt.

No, she was furious.

"Gah!" She ragged as she slammed her hand into the countertop, relishing the flair of pain that came to life with the action. She did it a few more times, her shoulders trembling as she rested her forehead on the cabinet of the small kitchen.

"It's not fair..." Her words were watery as she glared at the paper clenched in her throbbing hand.

Rejected.

Again.

The paper stated that while she was a medical prodigy they felt that she was not yet ready to step onto the stage as a pro hero.

It was bullshit, absolute fucking bullshit.

He had no doubt used his influence again to make them turn her down. Every fucking agency she had appiled to had turned her down for one reason or another but it always boiled down to him.

Rage boiled up in her, the hands lashing out the shove everything that was on the counters onto the floor, the paper fluttering innocently to land on top of the pile of broken shards.

Why?

Why did he always have to stand in her way?

She knew that she was an embarrassment to him, a mistake, and she had accepted that a long time ago. She did everything in her power to distance herself from him, she never took on the family name. She was a Higurashi just like her mother had been. She had only ever gone to the Torodki estate once and that was to inform her father that her mother had died.

He was hard pressed to not throw her out. She had spent a scant month and a half there before he had shipped her off to a crummy apartment on the other side of town. The message was loud and clear.

Stay away.

She had, that had been years ago. Now she was seventeen and trying her best to prove to him that he was wrong. That she wasn't a mistake, that she had worth. Sure, she didn't inherit his flame quirk but her mother's healing one, she still had value.

She would climb her way to the top without his help or influence even if it meant working her fingers to the bone.

So why was he standing in her way?!

Her legs gave out under her as she slid to the ground. Her shoulders trembled as she sobbed her emotions raging inside of her like a hurricane.

Anger.

Despair.

Pain.

"God damnit!" How was it he could get under her skin without even being in the same fucking zipcode? What had she done to him that was so bad besides being born?

She didn't ask to be born, no that was on him and his dick. He was the one who cheated on his wife with her mother so why was she the one suffering for it?

If he didn't want anything to do with her then why the hell couldn't he stop messing with her life? No wonder two of her half siblings had become villains! The man didn't have a kind or loving bone in his body, she had no doubt he pushed them until they broke and once they did he tossed them to the side and sired a new one.

He was the villian and yet they all hailed him as a hero.

He was no such thing. Kagome just wanted to be a hero, but that man who didn't like that she existed, kept blocking her way.

This whole hero business is corrupt...what he was doing shouldn't be allowed...but it was and Kagome knew no one was going to stop him.

Pure furry swept through her as her powers pulsed and left her body in a wave...leaving the room a disaster zone...but Kagome didn't care...her body shaking in anger as she tried to figure out what she was going to do with her life if her so called father was going to block her at every thing.

She had no clue...she just knew that she wasn't going to give up.

What Kagome didn't know was there were two figures in the shadows watching her, waiting for the perfect moment for when the Hero's do something to her and they would be the ones to pick up the pieces.
