PROLOGUE

"I'm sorry little ones," Raven, known as the Destroyer of Worlds and the only daughter of Trigon, softly sobbed as she wrapped her rounded belly with her dark power. "But this is the only way to keep you safe from Trigon. I won't let him use you as his pawns. Not while I still live and breathe."

She watched as the power built around her belly. Even though she was still four months pregnant, Raven's stomach was already big. It was probably due to the fact that she was carrying five children inside her. Raven didn't know whose DNA Trigon used in his experiment but Raven suspected that there were more than five superheroes that contributed to her childrens' genes. She already knew that her children would become the most powerful beings in the universe with the combined genetics from her and their unknown fathers. For this reason, Raven wanted to keep her children away from Trigon before he could use them to wage war on other worlds and other realities like Trigon used her and her other half-brothers.

"I promise that you will be safe in the alternate past. My other self will take good care of you." She whispered as her power surged and wrapped firmly around the babies in her womb. "The younger me won't have a lot of resources in the past but I know she will love you and will do everything she can to protect you. So to help her succeed in keeping Trigon away and to help protect her world, I will send all my knowledge and memories of the future to her... She won't be known as the Destroyer of Worlds in her time like I am in mine. The Rachel Roth in that reality will be known as a Healer and Savior with a thousands years of knowledge at her disposal. She will become a true hero like I never was..."

With tears pouring down her cheeks, Raven rubbed a hand over her belly and could feel her children's growing distress as they felt her through their empathic connection.

"You are the only hope and joy that I ever know after a thousand years under Trigon's control." Raven told her unborn children. "Your fathers were heroes. Great men and they died trying to save their worlds. I know it's already a thousand years too late... At least this way, I can rectify my mistakes by stopping Trigon from using you for his own gains like he used me... I'm sorry that I won't be able to go with you...This is the only way to prevent Trigon from following you."

There was a pause as she looked sadly at her round belly. This was her last sacrifice to give her children a better future away from Trigon's influence.

"Mommy will always love you," She told her children before she finally uttered the spell to send her children away. Raven could feel them crying out to her as they vanished into the time-stream. As she watched the dark orb disappear from around her belly and felt the emptiness in her womb, Raven felt her body seize as her power instantly drained away from her.

"If only I knew who your fathers were..." were Raven's final thoughts as she breathed her last.

Thousand years in an alternate past…

April 2015

Rachel Roth was sleeping soundly in her bed when she suddenly felt an agonizing pain tore through her belly. She instantly jerked awake with a scream.

It took her a few seconds to realize that her body was changing. When she did, she tore the blanket off her figure and watched in both horror and fascination as a dark energy rippled over her stomach. She was still gasping in agony as her stomach expanded where she could feel something growing inside her.

To her immense relief, the pain subsided as soon as her stomach stopped growing and Rachel instantly felt different emotions directed at her. Emotions that clearly came from the unborn babies that were now inside her large belly.

MAMA! Five voices cried out to her mentally and Rachel felt the unborn babies' utter joy when they sensed her presence.

Rachel, on the other hand, felt complete disbelief at the realization that she was suddenly pregnant. Not only one, but with five children.

Of course, her only reaction to her new condition was to completely faint.
