Chapter 1 - Dead of night.

"... Argh! Jeez, crap! You've gotta be kidding me! Why do I have such rotten luck?!"

His scream only caused more attention as Kamijo Touma was trying to flee those who were chasing him. Dashing through the streets of Academy City he threw a glance over his shoulder.

Eight.

He had been running for the last two miles, but the chase didn't stop. Finally, he reached a metal bridge, the spiky hair boy couldn't keep running forever and especially he couldn't go home giving the off chance that they could get inside his apartment. Time was running out and he was running out of options. So with no other option, he makes the stupidest decision to fight them off.

Kamijo Touma had been in plenty of fights before, sometimes he kick-ass, others he got his ass kick, tonight it will the latter, for it was no simple hand to hand combat or brawl in which he could negate the rivals' ability. All of his opponents wouldn't cease their attack until Touma or they dropped dead, maybe they were already dead, who knows, they acted like mindless zombies, so was there any difference?

An alarm rumbles everywhere.

"We urge all residents to stay inside their dorms, this is an emergency, protocol SAFEDOME has been activated, please stay calm."

As Touma punch, kick and push those who were attacking him, fear began to get to his mind. None of them were particularly skill fighting or had some crazy esper powers, but odds weren't stacked up his favor. He didn't knew what to do next, and so doubt was his downfall, as one of the pursuers got to bite his right arm.

"Argh, shit."

Many more bites follow that one, and the boy who once stopped the most powerful espers, magicians and magic gods fell down. Nobody heard his screams, and no one came to rescue him, who would? The city was in total chaos, everyone was for himself or herself if they hoped to survive.

Far from there, in another district, Misaka Mikoto was discharging electricity like never before. Trying to paralyze as many people, if you could call them that, as she could. It wasn't rare for her to be outside her dorm this late at night since she wanted to explore the city and have time to herself, she was regretting that decision.

Many students were trying to attack her, some had abilities, but as the third level 5, it was nothing she couldn't handle, she knew exactly how much voltage she needed to knock out a person without causing them several injuries, none the less, their attacks didn't stop. Even if she put them down, they would still get back on compounded with the fact that more and more students were arriving to attack her, it was something supernatural she thought.

Mikoto used her abilities to jump to the top of the roof, hopefully, nobody would reach her for a while. Her phone began to ring.

-One-sama! One-sama! Where are you?

That's the voice of her dearest friend.

-Kuroko?! What's happening? I was roaming around when that alarm sounded off.

- We don't know for sure, all AntiSkill and Judgement were called, there are emergencies all over the city, students are attacking each other, they say some are trying to bite.

-Like… zombies?

Misaka said at the risk of sounding ridiculous. But Kuroko kept silent for a bit.

-I doubt such things exist, but we have seen far stranger things over the last couple of months, so I don't know. I'm coming for you, where are you?

-I...I am at district 3, in the tallest building.

-I'll be there soon, please stay safe.

Misaka hangs up the phone and contemplates the Skyview, this would be her last calm moment for a while.

Uiharu was furiously typing in her computer, she was gathering all the reliable information of every attack, and see if it had a pattern. It's not that there weren't signs of these events; a couple of weeks before, Saten was talking about some mysterious individuals bitting people at any time of the day and night and some other strange disappearances, but nothing major.

-How bad is it? Asked Saten who was behind her.

-Saten-san this is horrible, we are in complete lockdown thanks to the SAFEDOME protocol, nobody is getting in or out, so many reports are coming and calls for help, we can't attend all of them.

Konori Mii, the chief of the branch, reaches Uiharu's shoulder.

"It's okay, relax, nothing good will come out from freaking out, right now our job is to get the students safe to their dorms, so I'm going out, I'm counting on you to tell me where to go." Mii said in a calm tone.

-Yes… yes, of course, there's a call for help a couple of blocks away, its in school.

-Point me in the right direction.

-"I'll go with you." Saten said while grabbing her bat.

-"No way I'm letting you go with me if it dangerous, you take care of Uiharu" With that said, she left the room, leaving the two girls behind.

Ring Ring. Saten's phone began to ring.

-Mh hello?

-Sa-Saten, I didn't know who else to call, they are coming, they are everywhere!

-Miho, is that you? Whos coming after you?

-I don't… I don't know them, I'm bearly avoiding them with my ability.

-Come to the 177th Judgment Branch, that's where I am. You'll be safe here.

-I… I'll be there.

With those words, Juufuku Muho, a girl who posses the ability dummy check, marched towards where her friend was, with a bite on her shoulder.

Inside an apartment complex commotion was all over the place. Accelerator and Misaka Worst were fighting off intruders, both pulling their attacks since they could easily kill everyone, but they won't.

"Why are all these fuckers here?" Said Worst irritated.

"The hell should I know, they act like beasts, just attacking, no thought behind it." Accelerator said while pushing five people to the hallway and downstairs.

"One of them got to bit the doc, she immediately passed out, Misaka doesn't think the bite was that hurtful."

Last Order enters the common room, she looks dizzy.

"I don't feel so good, says Misaka Misaka while my head hurts."

Accelerator rush to Last Orders side, leaving Worst to fend for herself. She cursed him for just caring about the child.

"Are you alright? Only your head hurts?"

Accelerator was looking for any injuries.

"There's… there's something wrong in the Misaka Network, something foreign has hold of some Misakas, Misaka Misaka says worrisome. "

One individual gets hold of Misaka Worst. She punches him, but it's to no use, he's about to bite her.

-Ah ha, no way dummy.

Worst fries the guy with a high voltage. The guy drops to the floor with burns all over his body.

Worst! Yelled Accelerator

-Well, I wasn't going to let myself get bitten.

Yoshikawa Kikyou, the scientist, their guardian suddenly wakes up and starts attacking Accelerator and Last Order.

-Oy doc, what's up with you, stop this nonsense.

Accelerator pushes her away but was holding himself back as to not hurt her. Misaka Worst grabbed her from behind.

-Whatever got into her, its the same thing all these people are acting like animals. HAHA, that's messed up Misaka thinks.

As the seconds passed more and more people were arriving at the hall and into the house, windows shatter as one got from the outside, all of them with the intent to get to these three; Accelerator makes an awful desition.

-Misaka Worst, protect the child, close her eyes, and cover her ears.

-You are kidding, right? I only have one arm free.

-Just do it!

As worst tried her best to reluctantly follows Accelerator order, she herself could hear and see what he did, the sound resembles one of a blender, broken bones and screams of pain until there was only complete silence. Accelerator destroyed everything and everyone in sight.

You beast. Said Misaka Worst with a twisted smile.

Accelerator's phone began to ring. He picks it up and sees he got a message.

-We move, now.

Kuroko and Misaka were teleporting from building to building, both were in complete silence. For a night where both have seen some horrible things, the moonshine was quite beautiful.

-We are going with Uiharu and Saten, they are as usual in the branch.

-Okay, maybe we can formulate a plan for what to do next, any leads on what may be causing this?

-One-sama, we are in the dark as much as you are.

-That's quite disturbing to know.

As they arrive at the place, the two had a gloomy expression in their faces.

-One-sama, everything will be alright, this is just another emergency.

-Yeah, I know, I'm just worried about everyone we know.

-Most of our friends know how to fend from themselves, have some faith in them.

GHYAAAA!

That scream came from inside the building. The pair knew exactly who that scream came from and distress got to them. Both scream "Uiharu' as they ran inside.

When they enter the room, both saw an image that will hunt them for a while. Muho, the girl that can avoid looks, was dripping blood from her mouth, getting closer to a terrified Saten, while Uiharu lied on the floor with a bite in her neck.

Kuroko quickly teleported and kicked Muho and yelled: Saten move!

Misaka promptly went to be right next to Uiharu, the girl with flowers in her head had a face of total fear and bearly holding back tears.

-Don't worry Uiharu, we are gonna get you to a hospital, everything is going to be alright.

With one hand preoccupy covering her neck, Uiharu looks for her friend's hand with the remaining one.

-Misaka-san… everybody… thank you for being my friend.

The three girls couldn't hold their tears.

-Kuroko, please take Uiharu to the hospital, now!

But as the electromaster finished her sentence, the look on Uiharu change to one of rage, now she was attacking her former friend. Kuroko was quick to move and took her friends and teleport outside, into the building's roof. All of them were in shock.

Filled with anger Misaka burst an electric shock as she screamed. Saten drops in her knees and began crying.

-I did this, I did this if it weren't for me… Uiharu...Uiharu still.

Kuroko slaps Saten.

"We… we were part of Judgment, we knew the risk. I will find whoever did this and make it turn back. It's not your fault."

But it is. Yelled Saten. I told her to come with us and she was already bitten.

-It wasn't your fault.

Miska was holding herself by closing her fist.

-We'll find whats cause this and return Uiharu to the person she was.

After a few moments, which they used to put themselves back together, one phone began to ring. Misaka had received a message. Still, with shock all over her faces, the girls looked at the phone.

-We begin our mission to save Uiharu and everyone with this.

In the safety of her apartment, although it's kind of hard to call it like that since she is a freeloader. Index was holding Sphynx in her arms while watching the TV wondering whats shes gonna have for dinner.

-Toumaaaaaa, where are you? You better get me some exquisite dinner for making me worry all this time!

As the alarm began to sound, she could only listen to the part of stay inside.

-Uhm I wonder whats is happening outside… Toumaaaaaa, you better not get into any trouble!

knock knock knock

-Who might that be… Touma, did you lose your key again? Seriously, you are kind of hopeless without me.

Index opened the door, only to be met not by the one he has hoping for, but by Style Magnus.

-Oh... it's you, what do you want this tim... agh.

Style doesn't waste time and enters the apartment and closes the door promptly.

-You are so rude, what gives you the right of coming...

We don't have much time! He said abruptly while closing the curtains. Quickly, pack everything you need, we are leaving. Magnus finishes his sentence with worrisome.

-I'm not going anywhere without Touma, and I'm not particularly fond to be with you, so please just leave.

The frustration is Style was evident, but considering who he was talking to, and how it looked for her, he took a breath and start explaining.

-As you probably heard, Academy City is shutting down, there is some kind of curse that is making everybody acting like animals. So, I'm taking you out of here before something bad happens to you.

-A curse you say? big enough to take the whole city? that isn't easy to pull off.

-I know, so I'm taking you with me before we can't escape.

-No, I still refuse, when Touma arrives, then we will decide what to do.

-Dammit, we don't have time for this, I'll take you, even if it is by force.

RING RING. The phone of Index began to ring, a message had arrived her. After she read the message, she looked at Style.

-We are going to the Windowless Building.

Style wasn't fond of the idea to go where Alister Crowley resides, however, the Windowless Building is one of the safest places on Earth, and much closer to them than any other exit; so reluctantly he agrees.

The two of them walk outside of the apartment, and Index gave a quick stop to her friend, her neighbor

-Maika! We are leaving, please take care of our home!

Style covers Index mouth with his arm.

-You fool, don't yell, you'll draw attention to us. We have to move quietly.

-Unhand me, I'm just doing what I always do… but it doesn't look like she is home.

But Style Magnus was right, at that moment, the pair started noticing that people were gathering around them, from the hall through the stairs and onto the street, there were at least 20 people, none of them look friendly.

Style put a cigarette on his mouth.

-So much for trying to be sneaky. Flame Sword!

-Wouldnt it be better for Innocentius to come and help us?

-Not if we are to move that far, right now our best options is to run and avoid fighting if possible.

-Just, please don't hurt anybody, I can feel they are not doing this according to their will.

-I cannot promise that.

Outside of the Windowless Building, three girls show up out of nowhere, they just teleported there.

-One-sama, why are we here?

-Because if someone knows what to do is probably him.

-I heard that already, my question was, why here? what's so special about this place.

-I don't know, he just told me to meet him here.

Oh, but if it is non-other than the original, of course, you would get tangled in this. This harsh phrase was heard by the three girls, although one of them had an idea of who that might be and cause her a little discomfort.

Kuroko and Saten turn her heads to see who said it and soon they became baffled, an individual that looks exactly her friend but acted like a totally different person, by her side, there was also an albino boy which both recognize as the number one esper in Academy City and even stranger, he was carrying a little girl that also resemble her friend. If not by all the things that have happen tonight this would be the most unsettling thing that they had ever seen.

So, he called you too huh. Said Accelerator.

Misaka only nodded, she didn't wanted to deal with them for now.

The awkwardness in the air was palpable, and those we were used to breaking the ice were in no mood or condition to do it.

Not far from there, the two exhausted magicians and the cat could see in the distance those gather outside of the Building.

-Do you recognize any of them?

-A couple of them, the white boy bought me lunch some time ago. There's also the classless girl and her twin tail friend. Toumaaaaa! we are here!

Everybody turns their sight to the last arriving members, the nun and the tall redhead in a trenchcoat.

Misaka looked at the nun and company but didn't get the answer she hoped for.

-Wait, he isn't with you?

-Who? Touma? No, he told me to meet him here.

We all got that message. Said Accelerator looking at his phone.

At that moment a door appears in the Windowless Building, letting everybody inside.

Shall we. Accelerator proclaims as he enters the building with Last Order in his arms.

-You don't have to tell me twice, I'm not gonna stay outside in the danger haha

After they all enter, the doors disappeared, leaving them inside with no one to bother them or no way of getting out. The inside was dark with a couple of light that barely illuminated part of the hall.

I'm going to ask the one-million-dollar question. Said Misaka as she was getting ready.

Toumaaaaaaa?! Are you here? The nun yelled.

Mikoto only kept silent along with everyone.

No response.

Until a faint voice was heard. Here, it said.

-Damn, my rotten luck, I almost didn't make it.

Touma appeared out of the shadows, he is cover in bites, in his legs, shoulders and right arm.

Disbelieve filled the room.

Hey guys, so this is my first time doing something like this, I did it mostly for fun, but if you like it I will gladly continue it.

Still, I wanna hear what you guys think, the good, the bad and the mhe.

Also this is not my first language so if I made some mistakes feel free to point them out.
