Well, this movie night's going to be different. My whole family is heading to the Monarch theater.

I've never been out with both parents before. Usually my Dad stays behind so I don't even care that the theater he chose is inside Crime Alley, even though I know, like every Gothamite, what happened there.

It's the place where Bruce Wayne's parents were murdered.

Soon, we're headed inside the movie theater. I've heard about the one we're going to watch. I'm sure it's going to be great.

It was even better than I thought it was going to be.

We leave the theater and head for the car.

Wait. What's going on?

I just heard Mom scream.

My question of who's there gets a hush.

He closes my eyes so I can't see him then I feel him put something on them.

Oh God. I can't open my eyes but I'm too scared to say anything.

Please be quiet, Dad, or I think he'll hurt you.

I'm blindfolded then wrapped in what feels like bandages.

Okay. I can breathe through my nose at least.

My hearing's muffled and the only movement I can do is the kind I'm doing now which is shaking.

I dimly hear two gunshots then nothing.

"Hush" leaves me somewhere then I'm left shaking, wondering about my parents.

I'm pretty sure I'm an orphan now and I'm so very scared.

Please let someone find me soon.

My name is...Wait a minute, what is my name?

Batman's P.O.V.-2 hours later

I'm on patrol when I notice a white bundle by a lamppost near the Monarch theater.

No. There's two adult bodies here.

Gotham has made another orphan.

I head over to get a closer look at the white bundle.

My eyes widen. It has nostrils and it's shaking, I think it's a kid wrapped in bandages.

Where's the end?

I take the mystery child in my arms, noting that it's 90 pounds and four feet two inches. Must be young.

I can't identify the parents right now. This kid needs me.

It's fallen asleep in my arms so I will try and find the bandage end later.

You're coming with me back to Alfred. He can help you better than me.

Soon, I'm headed to the Manor with my little mystery safe in the back seat of the Bat-mobile.

I've called Jim Gordon to handle the bodies. The one of the man seems familiar but I've got my guest to think about.

"You'll be safe soon."

Whoever's in there must have heard me because the bundle stops shaking.

Damn you, Hush. You just had to make an orphan in Crime Alley, didn't you?

Well, whoever it is has me now. I'm taking this child into the family.

When I arrive at the cave, I carry out my mystery then place it in front of Alfred.

"Good heavens. Who could this be?"

I take my cowl off. "Well, I'm intending to find out. I found my little mystery in Crime Alley. Shortly after, it fell asleep in my arms. I couldn't find the end of the bandages and I didn't want to wake Gotham's newest orphan. Please, Alfred, help this child. I know you can do that better than me."

He smiles, slightly easing the guilt that I've found myself feeling. "Of course I'll help but, really, the least you could have done is freed the poor child's ears."

The bundle stirs then muffled cries come from it, causing my eyes to widen slightly.

I'm pretty sure that's a girl.
