There is a world where the strange is normal, and what was once normal is strange. This is the world of My Hero Academia. It's a world where people have these abilities called quirks, which are in a way superpowers. Each quirk is special, granting abilities in a wide plethora of shapes or sizes, sometimes quite literally. They also come at a young age, most people getting their quirks by the age of 4. There are quirks that allow one to have their eyes glow, and another to stretch their fingers. Others can create items out of their own fats, and others that have a shadow living inside them. Other quirks, known as mutant quirks because it changes one's physical appearance, such as a frog quirk, or a quirk that gives the appearance of a human size sludge. A good percent of people do not have quicks. These people are known to be quirkless. Yes, this indeed is a world where the abnormal is normal.
Now we zoom in on a young green hair boy, who has diamond shaped freckles on his face, who is currently lying on his bed. His name? Izuku Midoriya, a 16-year-old first year at UA high school, the best hero school there is in Japan. Midoriya has gone through a whole bunch as a first year, more than anyone should have faced in the 3 years at UA, let alone just the very first year. Midoriya has fought many battles, such as against the Hero Killer Stain, Muscular from the League of Villains, Overhaul from the Yakuza, Criminal Gentleman, and many more battles. He has also broken many, many bones over these battles. How though, when kids get their quirks at such at a young age? The answer is quite simple: that being Midoriya hasn't had his quirk long enough to control it. Midoriya, in fact, was quirkless, but then one day he got one. How? Well, he was a late bloomer, or so he tells people. The truth is, he got his quirk from the former number 1 hero of Japan, All Might. The quirk's name is One For All, a quirk that can be passed down from person to person. Izuku Midoriya is All Might's successor and the 9th holder of One For All and is training to be the number 1 hero someday.
Well the successor is lying down just thinking as he already finished his homework and training for the day. It's nearing the end of the first year at UA High School so even though there is a lot of homework, it's less than before, allowing Midoriya to finish early. What is the young man doing? Thinking, lots of thinking. The green haired boy was bored out of his mind.
Unfortunately (for him not the city), there weren't many crimes today which meant he couldn't do any analyzing and scribble away in his notebook.
He sighed, wondering, 'Man what can I do today?' He could lift weights, but he has already done that... 12 times today in fact. And as much as he would like to keep working out, he knew that he shouldn't overwork himself.
He could go to the lobby but...
(In the Lobby)
"DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Bakugo screamed at the television, as his Bowser just yeeted Ness out of the stage. He was playing Super Smash Bros 162. Food and drinks were spilled everywhere, pillows were burned, and Kaminari was on the ground, his brain being fried from playing too much. Kirishima just groaned into his controller.
Midoriya just decided to let his mind wander. He went through a couple thoughts before landing on a certain thought: his girlfriends. Yes, girlfriends with an S. The shy, stuttering fanboy has multiple girlfriends. 12 in fact. He chuckled, thinking back to how he got all these amazing girlfriends.
Ochako Uraraka
It started out as a simple question. After school, as the students were packing up, Izuku Midoriya walked over to a girl with a brown bob cut that seemed to defy gravity and a permanent blush on her cheeks, Ochako Uraraka. Midoriya started to shuffle his shoes before he asked, "H-hey U-Uraraka? Would you like to j-join me to this one c-café right now? It's about five minutes from here."
Uraraka stopped packing as she processed what the successor had said. "..." Her face erupted into a bright red color and one of her fellow classmates could even say that they saw steam coming out of her ears. "Like as a d-d-d-date?!" she exclaimed.
Now it was Midoriya's turn to look like ripe strawberry. "N-no! N-not like a d-date!" he shouted. He started to mess with the straps on his backpack, "I just wanted us to h-hang out with each other t-today!"
"O-oh ok then. Where do you want to go?" she asked the hero nerd.
He smiled. "W-well, there is this really nice café near here I wanted to go to."
Uraraka smiled back at him. "Well that works for me then! Lead the way!"
They finished packing up their school supplies and went on their way to their destination. Uraraka decided to start small talk as they walked.
"Hey Deku-kun? Any interesting crimes today?" she asked him.
His face lit up in excitement. "Oh yeah!" he exclaimed. "There was a bank robbery earlier today and Kamui Woods was there along with Mt. Lady and Edgeshot! I think they are teaming up as more and more crimes go up and..." Izuku started to mutter as he devolved to fanboying.
The brunette just kept walking while sweatdropping. 'Well that's Deku-kun for you.'
"Ah!" the greenette said, lighting up. "We're here."
They had stopped at a small, but cozy-looking café shop. The café was a shade of light blue on the outside and had 2 square windows in front.
Uraraka looked up. "Blue Shot Sweet café?" she questioned.
"Y-yeah, the name is based off the colors of the café and treats they sell," the boy explained.
The two teens walked into the café. Inside, the café is furnished with a central white wooden table for customers, while in the background lay some bean bag chairs for larger groups to hang out at. The walls, of course, were also blue. They went over to some of the bean bags and took a seat there. Uraraka then decided on starting up another conversation as they waited to put their order in. "So Deku-kun, how'd you find this shop anyways?"
"O-oh! I-I was here with M-Momo before. T-The shop owner here is r-really nice." Izuku started to scratch his cheek. "He serves really nice coffee, and really good cakes! But his specialties are these hero-themed gelatos! I-In fact, there's this gelato that's based off of Gang Orca! It tasted really amazing, and..." As the hero-in-training started to describe more of the shop's desserts, Uraraka was stuck on one sentence he said.
'H-here with Momo! D-Deku-kun was h-here with M-Momo, and they possibly had sweets together! H-he's even on a first name basis with her! But why was he here with Momo? C-could it h-have been a date?'
"... a gelato based off Crimson Riot, which Kirishima-kun would probably like. Oh! One of the gelatos is based off Thirteen, which I'm sure you would like! It has..."
"You've been here with Momo?" the girl interrupted as she came back to reality.
"A-ah, well y-yeah. M-Momo a-asked m-me for help o-on t-trying to find s-some nice cafés t-together." Izuku started to cover his face as it bloomed into a ripe shade of red. "T-This was the last one w-we v-visited t-together. W-we both decided to have their hero-themed gelatos, w-which is how I-I know about t-this place." Izuku's face was now filled with bright red, now resembling a ripe tomato.
"I-I see. So, tell me about the gelato based off of Thirteen again, please?" the gravity-removing heroine asked.
"O-Of course. So, it has these marshmallows on top..."
'So Deku-kun was really here with Momo. He got so flustered which is cute... N-NO Ochako, focus! Izuku was here with Momo. Why did she ask him? Is it because she has a crush on him? What if she does have a crush on him?! What will I do? Does Deku-kun like girls like Momo? If so, what do I do?!' Uraraka's panic came to a halt as the waitress came up to them.
"Hello and welcome to the Blue Shot Sweet Café, can I take your order?"
"O-oh I'll have the, uh, Crimson Riot gelato, ma'am," Izuku said.
"Ok, and how about you, miss?" the waitress asked Uraraka.
"H-huh?! O-oh, I'll have the Thirteen gelato, please." Uraraka smiled at the waitress.
The waitress smiled back and took their menus from the teens. "Ok, we'll have your food out in a bit!"
The waitress walked away from the bean bags leaving the two teens alone again. Izuku rubbed the back of his head before looking at Uraraka. He asked, "S-So Uraraka, how is it going with your n-nausea problems when using your quirk?"
She grinned with eyes closed at the green haired boy. "Oh, it's going great so far! I can even use my quirk on myself for longer periods of time before getting sick!"
She opened her eyes to see Izuku muttering up a storm, writing in a notebook from God who knows where. The nervous demeanor he had just a couple seconds ago was completely gone. His nerd side had come out and completely taken over. The girl sweatdropped, as she was used to this type of behavior from the boy.
"W-Well then, how about you Deku-kun?" Uraraka asked. "How is it going with your quirk?"
"W-well I-I haven't broken any b-bones in a long time. So, g-going well I guess?" he responded.
Uraraka was about to reply when the waitress came with their food.
"A Crimson Riot gelato for the mister and Thirteen gelato for the miss. Enjoy your food, you two lovebirds!"
Simultaneously, the two teens face exploded with red. Izuku covered his face with his arms and started stuttering out an unintelligible sentence. Uraraka started to wave her hands rapidly in front of her face.
"N-NO IT'S NOT LIKE THAT!" she shouted. "W-We are just friends, ma'am!"
The waitress rolled her eyes, having seen and heard this before in the café. She smiled. "Sure thing honey, whatever you say. Enjoy your food!"
There was some awkward tension in the air, so they decided to eat in silence. The gelatos were just as delicious as Izuku said and the heroes-in-training finished quickly. They went up to the counter to pay.
"The total will be 2,125 Yen, please," the cashier told them.
Uraraka looked into her wallet nervously. She wasn't very rich and worried that this would put her back a bit for the weekly groceries. Sighing, she reached into her wallet and looked up to ask how much again to only see a handful of bills being put into the cashier's hand.
"H-here you go," Izuku said. "I'll pay for both."
The cashier smiled at the two of them as he took their money. "Thank you, please come again soon!" he told them as the teens exit the café.
"You didn't have to pay for me you know, Deku-kun," Uraraka told the boy. "I could've paid for them myself."
"W-Well my mom always said to pay for the l-lady. Besides you're my friend, and I-I wanted to do something nice for you! As a thank you for everything! For being one of my best friends and always being by my side! You're really special to me, you know," Izuku said with a wide eyes closed smile.
Even though the girl didn't know what exactly it was (cough cough crush cough cough) she knew at that moment, whatever feelings she had for the boy grew right there.
She smiled back at him and replied, "Yeah, Deku-kun, and thank you for everything!"
Tsuyu Asui
Tsuyu Asui, the green haired girl whose quirk gave her the powers of a frog as well as appearance, listened as her crush, Izuku Midoriya asked her a question.
Her feelings for the boy started at the USJ. Villains had invaded the school and were there to kill All Might, the Symbol of Peace at that time. Herself, Midoriya, and the grapist- er, Mineta, were teleported to the flood zone, where they took out some villains. As they were at the edge of where the water and land met, they saw the blue haired hand villain decay their teacher Mr. Aizawa's, aka Eraserhead, elbow, and then saw the big, bird-like villain slam his head onto the floor. The blue haired villain and the misty villain then started talking to one another about leaving and the next thing she knew, the villain that could decay his opponent with his hands had a hand closing in on her face. The frog girl thought she was dead.
She would never forget what happened next.
The hand enclosed on her face, but for some reason, she didn't decay and die.
The villain muttered, "You really are pretty cool. Eraserhead."
The froggy greenette saw the other greenette leap out of the water at the villain screaming, "GET OFF HER!"
That's when her feelings started for the boy named Izuku Midoriya.
Now Tsuyu would've asked him out a while back if it wasn't for the fact that she had to watch her siblings after school and that her best friend, Ochako Uraraka, also had a crush on the boy.
Her big eyes still watched as the boy grew during his time at UA High School. How he went from breaking his bones all the time, to being able to use his quirk without breaking bones, to switching styles from using arms to legs. From full cowling to full cowling shoot style. It was impressive to see him adapt so quickly. Then again, he was determined to be the best hero there ever was, and he seem to train nonstop.
Anyway, that's what Midoriya was asking Tsuyu about.
"Well A-Asui, you have one of the strongest pairs of l-legs, and I wanted to ask if y-you could help me train. Iida has given me the basics, but I figured extra help wouldn't be bad. Especially b-because I'm changing up my fighting style. Maybe you can even help me fight in the water! That'll be really useful especially because there's always that chance of fighting in the water! And your quirk..."
"Midoriya-chan, you're muttering, and I told you to call me Tsu, kero."
This brought the quirk successor out of his habit, and he turned a bright red and started to scratch his cheek.
"O-Oh yeah. Sorry about that Asu- Tsu I MEAN!" he shouted.
"It's fine, just try to remember next time, ok?" the frog girl responded. "And yes, I can help you train with your quirk. We just need a place to train at, kero."
Midoriya's eyes lit up. "Oh I know the perfect place for that! There's a b-beach where we can go to train!"
"Really, kero? Where would that be, Midoriya-chan?" Tsuyu asked as she put a finger to her chin.
"It's a beach called Dagobah Municipal Beach. I-It's a really nice beach and we can do both types of training there," the greenette replied. "I-I did my training for UA there."
"Huh, well if it works for you it works for me," the other greenette responded. "When do you want to go train?"
"U-Uh, would this Saturday at 11 work for you, T-Tsu?"
"You got my name right this time. Sure, that time's fine with me."
"Great!"
And even though the blunt girl didn't show it, she was really happy that the shy boy asked her for help.
(Saturday 11 A.M)
Tsu, wearing green sweatpants and a black tracksuit and a backpack on her shoulder, got to the beach to already see Midoriya, wearing his green tracksuit and sweatpants and a towel over his neck, with a bag next to him, there doing push-ups. As she got closer, she heard him muttering to himself, "220,221,222,223..."
With her tongue sticking out of her mouth, she said, "Over 200 push-ups, Midoriya-chan? That's pretty impressive."
This promptly cause the boy to stop his push-ups and fall in the sand. He got up as quick he could, with a blushing face.
"O-Oh hey Asui!" the hero fanboy shouted.
"I told you to call me Tsu."
"O-Oh right, s-sorry about that, Tsu."
"It's fine, kero. What do you want to do here?" the shorter teen asked with a finger to her chin.
"Well I was thinking you could show me what stretches you can do and your techniques of kicking and fighting, what training you do for your legs, first out of water, then water training. We can have a lunch break in between, and I can take notes."
"I'm surprise you said all of that without stuttering, kero. Sounds like a plan to me though."
"I-I mean, I l-like taking notes about training, and fighting techniques," the verdant haired teen said while covering his face with his arms.
Tsuyu gave Midoriya a small smile. "It's fine, kero. I find it kind of interesting."
The other teen looked over. "Really?"
"Yes Midoriya-chan but we should get to training now," Tsuyu responded bluntly.
"O-Oh right." And so off the two teens went to go train on the beach.
Tsuyu started to show Izuku some stretches she does before any leg work. She then proceeded to show all the leg exercises she does such as long distance running, or in her case hopping. After all of that she showed what techniques she used in her kicks and mentioned to practice with a partner or with a punching bag.
They did this for about 2 hours and then it was time for lunch.
They pulled out their respective lunches from their bags and sat down to eat. Midoriya grabbed his notebook and started writing down what Tsu told him earlier.
"Thanks for all the help, T-Tsu! This information about how to kick will be useful as your style and Iida's style are different but both are reliable in different situations! And I can easily add this training into my daily training and workouts every day! And not to mention..."
"Do you realize when you go off into a muttering spree, Midoriya-chan?" the frog girl asked bluntly to her crush.
He shrugged sheepishly and replied, "W-Well not really. It's just that quirks are so interesting and cool! Like yours for example! It's such a viable quirk and anyone will kill for it! You're gonna be a great pro hero!"
"..." Tsuyu stared at the fanboy while he went on about her quirk. "Don't you realize my quirk gives me large hands and an emotionless face?"
Midoriya lifted his eyes up. "And? That doesn't really matter to me. You're blunt but kind and that's what makes you an awesome friend! W-Who cares about if you don't show your expressions that well. When you do, it makes you l-look, well, adorable!"
At that, both teens stopped eating and looked at each other. A few awkward seconds passed.
Midoriya seemed to realize what he said and started to panic while shouting, "WAIT I DIDN'T MEAN IT LIKE THAT! Y-YOU'REALWAYSADORABLEANDIDON'TMINDTHATYOU'REBLUNTAND-!"
Tsuyu cut him off with a croak. "Thanks for your honesty, Midoriya-chan. You're also pretty adorable yourself, especially when embarrassed."
He blushed an even brighter red and covered his head with his arms.
"See, kero, just like that," the green haired girl said. "How did you find this place anyway?"
The freckled boy decided to take a page out of the frog girl's book. "Well I c-cleaned this beach when it was a junkyard to train for UA. To r-restore it back to its glory," he said as bluntly as he could
"Really? Well that's the Midoriya we know so well, doing something heroic like that. Anyway, I better get changed into my swimsuit since we are going to go train in the water."
At this, Midoriya's brain fried. has stopped working... rebooting. Once rebooted he shouted,
"S-S-S-SWIMSUIT!"
"Well yeah, kero, we are going swimming."
The boy shook his head before muttering something that sounded like 'right right.' "O-Ok, let's go get c-changed then."
They went off to the restrooms to get changed. Tsuyu came out first, wearing a one-piece green and white swimsuit. It took Midriya a couple of minutes to come out, stalling for the inevitable. Tsuyu figured he was trying to calm himself down before coming out. After another 5 minutes, Midoriya came out wearing black swim shorts.
"That's an impressive body you got there, kero" Tsuyu croaked.
The boy's face went into strawberry setting. "T-T-Thanks, Tsu," he managed, looking anywhere but at the girl. The life of Midoriya's introvertness it seems like.
"I was just being honest, now let's get in the water."
They got into the water, which was at a real nice temperature, and they started training, first by swimming laps. Tsu kicked the successor's butt in laps but that was expected. She showed him some swimming moves he could work on at a place like the school's pool. She also showed him different exercises to work on in water to add that water resistance. After doing all of that, they sparred in the water, Tsu using her whole arsenal while Midoriya could only use his legs. Needless to say, after all of that, they were exhausted and decided to just mess around in the nice ocean water.
"So Midoriya-chan what do you think of all this training kero, was it helpful?" Tsuyu asked with a finger on her chin.
"Well I-" he started.
"Please keep it short too." the frog girl interrupted.
"...Yes it was. Very helpful in fact! I can add this in my training also!" Midoriya said after a couple of seconds.
"I'm glad to hear it. Now, kero..." Tsuyu started to say right before she splashed Midoriya's face with a wave of water. "Let's relax and not worry too much right now."
She was silent for a second before asking, "Midoriya-chan?"
"Hmm?"
"Could you give me a head pat please, kero?" Tsuyu respond bluntly.
Midoriya face erupted into that shade of red that his friends knew all too well. "W-W-What!? W-Why would you want me to do that, Tsu?!"
"Well I like head pats. Probably because of my quirk," she told him. 'And because I like you so I want head pats from you.'
"W-Well, if y-you're ok with it," the greenette told the other greenette.
"Well I asked you, didn't I? That means I'm ok with it."
Midoriya sighed, giving in to the blunt girl. He swam over closer to the girl before stroking her head with gentle strokes. "L-Like this?"
"Yes, kero. That's fine"
The frog girl started croaking happily, pleased that she got her crush to pat her head. Her face got an uncharacteristic light hue on it. "Kero, kero. This is nice. You give good head pats, Midoriya-chan. Thank you, kero."
Midoriya, of course with a red face and looking anywhere but at Tsuyu, scratched his cheek before stammering out, "I-I-It's no problem Tsu. I'm just happy to help."
Midoriya patted Tsu's head for a couple of minutes. They then started to mess around in the water playing some games like tag and marco polo, and just being kids. They noticed that the sun was starting to set, and decided it was a good time to get out of the water and dry off.
They got their towels and soaked in the rays of the sun before it became nighttime. Midoriya started up a conversation. "H-Hey Tsu? I just wanted to thank you for coming out and training with me."
"It was no problem, kero. You're my friend, I'll be happy to help." She looked over to see the boy rummaging through his bag. His eyes lit up once he found what he was looking for.
Her eyes widened as Midoriya gave her a pack of her favorite jelly before saying, "Well, I g-got you this. I know h-how much you like this type of jelly, so I went out and bought it as a thanks!"
"..." Tsuyu was silent, staring at Midoriya, who was getting worried that he upset the girl.
"T-Tsu? D-Did I get you the wrong jelly flavor?" he asked nervously.
"... I know I'm not the best at showing my feelings and emotions but thank you, Midoriya-chan," she said while throwing her arms over the boy in a hug, something he did not expect. He smiled and rubbed the top of her head.
"It's no problem, Tsu."
And at that moment, she knew. She knew how hard she fallen for her green haired savior. She smiled a rare smile back.
"Kero!"
AN: Hello again! It's me. Anyway this is my first chapter. Bit longer than I thought it was but eh. I hope I did okay getting the character's personalities down. I hope to get better at writing as the story continues. And if anyone is curious about why Izuku has 12 girlfriends, well I blame Mr. Horikoshi for making so many best girls. Until next time, bye!
