The Fifth Daughter

In the Xiao Household...

Sure there are relatives, but the Main Family is who runs everything.

Xiao Yuancheng is the current head of the household and has four wives.

Princess Royal Huang Huiwen who was bestowed to him and is the Legal Wife. She bore him a single daughter Huang Beiyue. Reason for the nom de mom was she was of higher status thus must take on the royal surname.

Concubine Qi Qin, younger...and disgraced daughter of Chief Counselor Qi due to a stunt of hers one Palace Banquet. She bore him the Family Childe Zhongqi, and two daughters who were younger than the princess. Rou who was younger by three months to Beiyue, and Chun who was younger by two years.

Concubine Fang who was once a maid in the Xiao Estate, bearing him a daughter, Ling who was as old as Zhongqi.

And Concubine Xue who was once a maid of Princess Royal. She bore him a son and a daughter respectively; Zhonglei and Yun.

Naturally, in a harem household...it is NOT peaceful.

A mother can only rely on her maids as her allies and trusted subordinates to help protect her children from outside sabotage. And her hope to rise for a better status in the household, is their children who must excel so their father will favor them more. Its how it works here.

This, was to the dismay of Xiao Chun who remembered her past lives by the time she was old enough to understand her world at age four. Memories came back to her on one night like a sledgehammer. That, and her reality is now different. Different life, status, and family. And 'Chun' is basically 'Tsubaki' in this world in how it's spelled.

"I died when grandpa poked my head with a flaming finger...and daddy let him..." she choked out in horror one dark night in her bedroom, holding back her sobs. "They killed me and mommy doesn't know...she went grocery shopping!"

She had no idea WHY she deserved that and angrily hated her father while looking at her memories in her new life. "I hate you for killing me! I never did you wrong! Was all that a lie?!" she looked back in her childhood memories that they were a happy family and yet when she was seven she was killed?! Hah?!

She has a normal life here at least. A good older brother and sister who plays with her at home, but in interacting with other siblings...it was war. Literally.

Not only that, her older siblings were mean to the resident princess because she was timid and a coward. Not only that, she was born defective that she cannot cultivate. Even servants are higher than her in status and her only protection is Princess Royal her mother.

While she was loved by her new mom, she was contemptible towards the other wives and their kids.

'Hey Rou'er, why is mommy nice to us but hates everyone else?' Chun asked her older sister who played with her with dolls. She is currently five years old and her sister seven.

'Daddy has three more wives Chun'er.' said Rou. 'Mommy said that we have to do well daddy will snub us. For now big brother is eldest son so we have the advantage of being his favorites. But if we don't do good in martial arts and studies, we'll be ignored.'

'...conditional love?' Chun frowned. 'So he only loves us if we're competent?'

'That's how it is.' said Rou, slightly a little perturbed by how her little sister figured out their world at a younger age than she did. 'Chun'er, no matter what, do not fail when you're old enough to study and train, OK? Heck, that moron Ling is incompetent in many ways she can't attend Lingyang and her attitude ensures she's gonna be a disgrace. Daddy won't even look at her, pretending she doesn't exist and then there's that useless waste Beiyue. She's the country's trash with no future that even Ling can get married!' she scoffed as Chun winced at how terrible her new world was. 'At least three of us are OK and that's what's important!'

Chun decided she doesn't like her new father much after that. Does that mean all that doting on them, is a lie? Its false love in the end? Fake love so they'll spend all their lives trying to gain his love that never was?

Then again, her first father and grandfather killed her...

She learned from Rou how the world works, and needless to say, to Chun who grew up happy...wasn't happy with this revelation at all.

When she was six, she can cultivate, and has Summoner Talent due to possessing an Elemental Affinity in her Spiritual Roots. She was a fire element to her mother's delight as the whole family is present for her Rite of Passage to determine her fate as a Cultivator.

But upon awakening her power through pills given to her, she could see. And since that day, her eyes were in a state of permanent glow, like there's a literal fire inside her very eyeballs it was both amazing and jarring to look at.

'...dear, can't this turn off or something? I worry for her eyesight!' Qin was frantic as Yuancheng looked helpless.

'Chun'er, do you feel pain or anything strange?' Yuancheng asked his youngest child. His eyes were in a state of quick thinking and Chun can see through him. He was wondering how useful her unusual manifestation could be...

'No daddy. My eyes are much clearer though...and what are Leifang and Hudie doing by the Ancestral Hall?' she asked them as she was seeing...something naughty going on...

'Huh? What're you talking about?' Zhongqi asked, baffled.

Chun can see past them. Literally.

This was because the world was feeding her information.

'Leifang is leaning on the wall hugging Hudie, but her legs were wrapped around his waist and he's holding her up by her bum.' said Chun as the adults, Zhongqi, Ling and Yun looked shocked. Zhonglei, Beiyue and Rou has no idea what she was talking about. The servants' eyes were popping out. Was she saying what they THINK she is saying?! 'Leifang has no underwear, Hudie's pants are down and Hudie's moving back and forth...'

OK, enough, everyone thought, shaken and red-faced.

'OH MY GOD!' Qin freaked out to stop her daughter's description of a tryst, red-faced. 'Honey, see if that's true now!' she shrieked as Yuancheng quickly ran out of the Master's Residence with Butler Zhou and a few manservants. The other servants remaining were quickly whispering among themselves. 'And Chun'er, do you really see that?!' Qin asked frantically in dismay.

'Yeah but, what are they doing mommy?' Chun asked Qin innocently. Qin was MORTIFIED with her question.

'T-they're uh...uhm...' nobody can blame Qin for being speechless. What parent would want to explain THAT to a freshly-turned six year old?!

'Oh do teach your daughter well Qin, she's learning something new in her life.' Concubine Xue said mockingly with a condescending smile and clearly enjoying this.

'Xue!' Fang and Princess Royal chided the woman who quickly felt bad to Chun, but she kept quiet.

'Shut up Xue! This is something good kids should not know until they're 20!' Concubine Qin howled, red-faced. 'Chun'er, forget what you saw today OK? Everything about that is forbidden!'

Soon, Yuancheng and the servants were back, red-faced and mortified while dragging back servants in question.

'...it's as she says.' he choked out.

'WHAAAAAT?!'

Well, bearing the Childe aside, Concubine Qin got a daughter whose eyes can see through walls and managed as far as the Ancestral Hall which was three buildings away from Yuancheng's Residence. Basically an adult can walk there in ten minutes in a fast pace, considering the layout of the estate.

Due to her ability and the no-no sight she saw, Leifang and Hudie were 'made to retire' for that stunt of theirs.

And now, Chun's studies forced her to quickly mature so she understands her world better and what she sees. It was a valuable gift in martial arts, meaning, nobody can sneak up on her. Ever. And she's basically a living security agent. Heck, she has a 'certain radius' as to how far her sight can go.

It especially helped when one day, she kept an eye on her older half-sister Beiyue because as she got stronger, she can see more to the point she can see even 'bad things' beyond her understanding she had no words to put it with. Seeing 'ahead' in some way, she gains information from the world itself, be it past, present and future. Her sight while thankfully controllable and she can tell time apart, she has limits everywhere else that needs hard work on.

'What did you say? Xue gave bad food to Beiyue?' Princess Royal gasped out. Chun basically told her that Xue was giving her daughter 'bad food'!

'Her food glowed black...and third sister is slowly glowing black...she'll be sick soon.' said Chun, upset. 'It will take effect by next year and by then its too late...it can't be cured because nobody can detect it. That woman is not nice at all...she always carries black-glowing food and gives them only to third sister yet strangely not to me, Rou'er and Ling. She wants third sister gone. And you didn't hear this from me.'

Princess Royal thanked her and hurried off and looking furious.

Chun, satisfied she did a good deed, went home, easily sneaking past servants so nobody sees her near 'the loser's house'. The servants were mean to third sister when Princess Royal wasn't around.

And Princess Royal's revenge was that she had a bottle of black something, and a brush which she used to lace all pink teacups in Xue's Pavilion which she does every night, while keeping Beiyue strictly at home and forbidden to go out. She has no idea who owns those teacups either Xue and Yun will be very sick soon and will be gone so soon too.

And this stunt was reason Princess Royal trusted her since, asking her to secretly watch over Beiyue while she was out working and confided in her in secret about ideal futures for Beiyue.

But months later...they met again. This time at night when she snuck in into Princess Royal's mansion. She looked for dangerous things and found worrying letters in Princess Royal's bedroom...which she took when the woman wasn't around.

'Auntie...you're gonna die aren't you?'

'...you see more than past walls, don't you?' Princess Royal told her with a sad smile. The way Chun looked at her confirmed her speculations. 'Yes...I'll die soon. I made arrangements but what do you think before I can implement it?'

'...you're a Grade-A Idiot.' Princess Royal sputtered at the little girl's flatly-stated words.

'Eh?'

'...you trusted father, mother and Xue with your property and money.' Chun deadpanned. 'Are you an idiot? Third sister is a disdained existence in this household! Why spend a single iron on trash, is what they'll think. They'll keep her around for her money while making her live a bad life while stripping her of what's hers. Have the Emperor manage your properties and plan protection...because if you're gone, she has no family from there on. Even servants are her enemy. She'll be all alone and I can't openly help her or I'll be abandoned too.'

Princess Royal pinched her nose and took on a pained grimace.

'I-I see...' she then sighed, her shoulders sagging. 'Beiyue...is all alone?'

'Yes...her future with Dongling is miserable. I can see ahead in four years...when you died, everyone will take cruel glee in stripping her of what belongs to her after the Funeral and move her to Flowing Cloud Pavilion which is basically a run-down shack under the excuse that she's so sick she's contagious. But this time, Third Sister is cured and Xue doesn't know you cured sister from her foul poisons and kept Third Sister at home since. But she'll still be kicked to that shack anyway, saying trash only deserve trash, made to believe nobody wants her around so she's too scared to go to her royal relatives for help thinking they're as cruel as this family.' that horrified Princess Royal.

'That enabled the family to exploit her without fear of the Royal Family and keep her downtrodden and miserable. Even servants can freely bully her, saying they're of higher status than even her. Dongling cannot do much for her and she's the only maid who stayed...while your other maids abandoned her, leaving two kids vulnerable to the wolves.'

'M-my goodness...is there someone I can count on in this city for Beiyue?!' Princess Royal cried, horrified that people she trusted will betray her in the worst way possible after she dies. She cannot trust anyone adult with her daughter at all! Horrible! It definitely says something that two little girls are doing the right thing yet no one else will? Those who can have their hands full!

'...Empress Dowager left Linhua after your death, only coming back after five years. Princess Xihe keeps vigil at Dongli Borders. Emperor would be reliable but if Third Sister's in the palace she's in more danger as enemies will deliberately keep him too busy while preying on her...the only safe place is the Censorate, to an...Uncle Geng?' Princess Royal lit up at the name.

Geng Zhong.

The most impartial and fair man in Nanyi, befitting his position as Head of Censorate as he has the power to arrest royals who committed heinous crimes and sentence them to death if need be. But selection process in Censorate employees is insanely strict hence. There was even a rumor that they take young orphans off the streets to groom them into impartiality as successors to their jobs!

'Geng Zhong...I can only count on him for Beiyue and Dongling's sakes?'

'Yes. Again, you didn't hear this from me.'

Princess Royal smiled wanly at that.

'...you're helping me which is strange in a family like this.' she remarked rather somberly.

'...I love my mom, but that doesn't excuse the future I see even if she cares for her children like any mother would, but sadly, the father isn't father-of-the-year anytime soon.' Chun grunted with an armfold. 'Father took conditional love to a whole new level so I don't like him, but I cooperate just so I won't get neglected and abandoned.' Princess Royal felt sorry for the girl who can see through anything and anyone. With a power like that, she knows who's good and bad for her and even determine the true nature of people. 'None of them know I can see the future and I want it that way. All they know is I can see through places and that's it.'

'I see...well, I've been warned, Chun.' said Princess Royal with a sigh. 'I'll make arrangements tomorrow before...the worst happens.' she then took out two jars from her space ring. 'Take this, Chun. One pill a year from the white pills until you're twelve years old. You will become more beautiful than anyone in this family in turn...as my thank you for saving my daughter...and the other jar is for breaking through spiritual walls for your cultivation. However, these pills are for six to nine stars only.' she said. 'Because I know this family's finances can't go that far.' she chuckled. 'Unless they steal my money of course...hurry home, Chun...thank you for everything.' Chun nodded before leaving.

However, one thing Chun didn't tell Princess Royal...is that her daughter will die from enemies no matter what happens by the time she is twelve...and be replaced by a person who's cold, calculating and vindictive, but with a sense of honor and justice. Treats well those who treat her well and pay evil unto evil.

And she can't stop that death and replacement even if she wanted to. Her ability to act, is limited. At least she prevented the poisoning...and at least her older sister knows that she has a good sister who just can't act openly in fear of her own family turning against her.

But at least her conscience is clear, and as she had foreseen...Princess Royal died. Everyone wore white with black bands...and Chun took her first pill.

However, the Black Cavalry cleaned up the mansion to the surprise of the Xiao Estate.

'What's the meaning of this?' Yuancheng demanded.

'On Princess Royal's last will, if anything happens to her, Princess will move to the palace and her legal guardian the royal family.' and that was all they got.

Chun also enjoyed foiling Xue's plans of the bad future of her suggesting THEY 'manage' Beiyue's money because she is 'too young and incompetent' to do it herself. Too bad for her she got Miyang, not the Qinghe she wanted. Naturally, Yuancheng will give Qinghe to Qin as she was the most useful wife in the house. In all futures she saw, this was constant.

She took delight in seeing the dark look on the woman's face as the Black Cavalry cleaned everything up. No money will come to her now! Did she always think her plans will work? There's always a thing called 'monkey wrench' back in her past world, to quote the cartoons she used to watch!

Cartoons.

She missed TV oh-so-much. Her first mom and TV in that order.

Years later...

Raising Summoners are expensive. That was the reality and the Xiao Family is blessed with two Summoners in Xiao Qiyuan and Xiao Chun.

Princess Royal's stunt ensured Xiao Yun grew up weak and sickly to Xue's horrified dismay, begging Yuancheng to save her daughter, reminding him of Yun's future as a Summoner. The family hired a physician, but over ten doctors could not figure Yun's sickness out to Xue's dismay and later rage and began pointing fingers at which, she got ganged on by two angry other wives who justifiably defended themselves.

Yuancheng was in dismay that he has two useless children now, and as Rou had told Chun years before, Yun was neglected and he looked at her younger brother Zhonglei more. Chun ensured Xue won't turn her second brother into a snake like she had Yun by suggesting to her father when he gathered two wives and kids, leaving Xue and her brood out.

'Serves her right for being complacent and careless!' Qin snarked. 'She has it good and her head blew too big.'

'What of Yun's status, master?' Fang asked Yuancheng who sighed.

'Yun'er no longer has a future if even the royal physician cannot cure her.' said Yuancheng. 'What on earth did she get? Was it from their purchases?'

'Most likely, Xue did like to live extravagantly ever since Yun came out a Summoner.' said Fang. 'She's been buying exotic food since that day. Zhonglei's lucky he didn't fall sick, but its a matter of time now.'

'Maybe those carried a disease...impaled by her own sword, I say!' Qin sneered. 'Exotic foods are good and all, but those things are best left to people who can afford their lives after eating it. I'm sticking to good old goose!' Goose was her favorite meat. Chicken was too small for her. She loved it so much her children grew up eating goose when Chun once thought, 'What a big chicken!'

'How on earth can you eat meat, I can't even stomach such a thing...' Fang looked ill at the idea.

'Whatever Fang, you're missing out.' said Qin with an eye roll.

'What of Zhonglei though?' Zhongqi asked his parents. He wasn't even a rival to him as his cultivation comes first as well as that of his youngest sister's. Once he was of high enough level, Zhonglei and Rou will get their chances to.

'Well, since Aunt Xue got careless, it'll be a matter of time before her expensive tastes gets him too.' said Chun. 'He should live with father in his residence and eat normal food.'

'That may be for the best.' said Yuancheng, liking the idea of the seven year old. 'I'll talk to Xue about this.'

Senior Master Xiao Qiyuan was helping the family in cultivating with his millions as he was a wealthy summoner in a family of warriors, him being the odd duck out, so he took until he was 70 years old to make it as far as he did. He took high-level quests, moonlighting as a warrior mercenary to earn millions for his cultivation, and then defeating a Rank 12 Fire Leopard when he was a 5-star summoner. He plans to go into seclusion after helping with supplements to rise in rank.

And the Xiaos aren't that rich as Princess Royal never gave any money to the Xiaos...for some reason.

Naturally, Zhongqi's cultivation was prioritized as he was family Childe. Chun helps her siblings out to keep spiting Xue for being the evil in the household.

She asked Zhongqi to take her out every three years, starting when she was nine years old. She would guide him to a certain tree. A tree so valuable it only bears fruit every three years. The Jade Spirit Fruit. It yields twice the result with just half the effort in cultivating Ki. She made him swear to keep it secret even from their own parents!

'Let's just be a known genius in terms of cultivation.' said Chun. 'Otherwise father will make us share these babies to Xiao Yun cuz' she's a Summoner even if she's bedridden, you want that?'

'Hell no!' her brother and sister would grunt. In a harem household, children COMPETE for their father's favor to elevate their mothers to become legal wife. They saved their booty in the Spirit Ring Zhongqi owned, a gift from their father.

On the other hand, because of Zhongqi and Chun's fast rise in Ki, the family was astonished.

'What, we just work harder to progress faster.' said Zhongqi. 'And I keep an eye on my little sister's growth!'

'Oh, what a wonderful boy~' Qin was one happy mother. Due to their fast ability to cultivate while Yun was lagging behind because she puts forth 'normal effort' while still sick in bed, they naturally get supplements faster, much to the ire of Concubine Xue and Yun at getting left in the dust. Zhongqi and Rou quickly rises levels in a year, and Chun is now a three-star Summoner, strong enough to own a Spirit Beast. She was a known genius summoner who was a three-star at just ten years old! In her studies and training, she was a prodigy.

But at age ten?

Grandpa had to get her one through Taming. Taming is the way to safely own a Spirit Beast. A master-hand will defeat a beast and subdue it to 'tame' it, to enable a weaker Summoner into making a Contract with it.

Grandfather took her out, looking for a fire beast.

'What type of beast would you like, Chun'er?' he asked her. 'Take note that as you are now, you can only have a level five beast that I can safely tame for you, until you reap the benefits after which, you can terminate the contract and get a new one.'

'Humm...I want a bird-type grandpa!' said Chun. 'I wanna fly up in the sky so I can go anywhere I want! I don't want to be stuck on the ground or any water in my way.'

'Ohoho! A fire bird it is! Let's look for one.' said grandfather with a chuckle. 'Freedom, was it?'

'Yeah! I want to fly where I wanna go when I got strong one day!' Chun chimed happily. 'I want the sky!'

And she got what she wanted. A fire condor! And upon making a contract with it after a difficult fight with her grandfather together, she was able to own it...and go home on it.

And by this time she knows...that the timid, coward sister...is no more.

She saw her death, poisoned by a maid...and her body taken over by the cruel one and killed the maid in turn.

"It's begun."

She wondered what kind of...older sister she'll be.

Now the four years have ended...she'll soon meet that cold-blooded girl.

xxx

In the Palace...

'Bitch.' Beiyue heartlessly killed the maid who fed her current body poison. 'Now then, what will I do now?'

She looked back on this body's memories.

This girl is Princess Huang Beiyue.

Wait, what?

This girl has the same name as her? Wow. But their names are written differently. Her Beiyue was 'to exceed many times' while this girl's was 'north moon'. Not creative.

This identity was a known waste. Cannot practice martial arts because she was a 'foundational trash', unable to cultivate and consolidate ki. That, was bad in a world where Martial Arts and Reputation is everything. She was also timid, coward and ignorant in her childhood, but having a good legal guardian after her mother's death gave her confidence, but still felt lonely as other than Dongling, her only maid and friend, nobody wanted anything to do with her. Emperor occasionally visits her, being a good uncle and spoils her, as if its an attempt to make her feel better.

However, she also has a younger sister who was at least, good from afar, as she cannot be openly good to her...with good reason. She was born with precognitive powers that she warned her mother that Concubine Xue was poisoning her through treats she gives the naive princess while pretending to be nice, that got her mother angrily taking her to Prince Xiaoyao, a man she can rarely see but also nice to her. He gave her pills to cure her poisoning...and after that, kept her in-house until her death and teaching her the bitter reality that she tried to protect her from. But with this murder attempt, she can no longer afford to keep Beiyue's rose-colored world.

'Beiyue, in times of uncertainty, you can try talking to Shaochun(jap: Tsubaki-chan).' Princess Royal would say. 'She sees things nobody can see. Despite what a mess our life is, you can count on her in secret. Just don't be seen for her sake, she's still a little girl younger than you and still needs her mother.'

Yeah, because in a Harem Household, its use, be used and if you're careless, made useless and then, discarded.

As the most useless existence, Beiyue only had five people to count on. Emperor. Dongling. Uncle Geng. Grandmother. Princess Xihe. Everyone else was prejudiced towards her even if she had skill, but cannot cultivate. This made little Beiyue sad and gave up on life, just clinging to it for what little good things she had left and wished things were different.

But the cold-blooded Beiyue knew whining and crying won't get you anything and anywhere. If you want something, go get it! Its how the world works!

She disposed of the insolent servant by dumping her in the moat by the Imperial Garden before taking on a cloak, and made her way to Xiao Residence, to Concubine Qin's residence to meet Xiao Chun.

The Xiao Clan that was primarily a Warrior Clan, has three 'odd geniuses'.

Xiao Qiyuan, the grandfather who disdained this Beiyue for her uselessness.

Xiao Yun, the half sister born to that bitch Xue. She was an ice element but as of recent years, bedridden. Her mother had given a letter to Dongling that only she can know when she was ten years old. The reason Xiao Yun was sick, was because of revenge. Xue poisoned Beiyue with a high-class poison that can never be discovered...so she in turn, poisoned Xiao Yun. As far as everyone knows, Concubine Xue's exotic taste in food cost her, her daughter.

Anyone with a brain knows only the wealthy can afford exotic tastes as there are risks in eating such things. So everyone sneers at Xue for being careless. Thus she lost face in society and Xiao Yun was an object of pity. As a precaution, Xiao Yuancheng took to raising Zhonglei himself so he won't get sick from exotic food.

And Xiao Chun, a 1/100 prodigy whose perpetually-flaming eyes can see through walls. At first, her range was a distance of ten minutes away from her, but soon, she was strong enough to cover 100 meters away by age ten. Xiao estate and areas outside that...due to potential breaches of privacy issues complained about, she was required by the Royal Family to wear a limiter bracelet to 'turn her sight off' and the leash is in the hands of the Censorate and the Black Cavalry will be on her in minutes. They will know if Chun took her bracelet off outside of training. Poor girl saw 'the dirty' at just age six as an example...but nobody knows of her 'other sight' powers that only Princess Royal, Dongling and Beiyue knows of.

And now, as she arrived at the back of Xiao Estate, she was there waiting for her.

She has long light brown hair and dark brown eyes. A beautiful girl who took the 'thank you' supplements granted to her by Princess Royal that emphasizes a girl's femininity, leaving no room for androgyny. Thus she was prettier than her mother and older sister Rou.

Her hair was worn loose with a flowery-vine headpiece wrapped around her head. She wears her hair in a hime cut and wore a pink qixiong ruqun dress.

'Nice to meet you...visitor.' she said. 'Third sister's gone now, replaced by you.'

Huang Beiyue's eyes widened at that before narrowing darkly.

'You foresaw her death?'

'...I can't do anything. Someone of my status is forbidden to go to the palace as you know...thus I cannot save third sister. But you are a needed presence here nonetheless.' said Chun. 'You will be the one to grant her justice she and royal aunt deserves. Third sister who wanted to die anyway in order for being reborn in a kinder life, welcomed death...after all, what's a handful of good people, compared to millions who disdains you just for existing? Anyone will break into despair.'

'I can see that much when I got her memories.' said Beiyue curtly and rightfully angry, but not at the somber-looking girl as she really cannot do anything, given the start difference in social status, and the fact she is ten years old this year, at risk for losing everything for doing what's right. 'Do you know what I need to know?'

'I do, but you must understand how this world works first...and get stronger.' said Chun. 'To prepare you for the future where you'll throw away everything and have nothing. Then come see me again.' she said. 'One piece of advice...don't be too cold-hearted, but be wise...you will soon meet the man just for you. Don't spurn him because you're such a loner. But if you do and he marries someone else, you'll realize what you've lost forever in the worst way and time possible and there are no take-backs.'

'Noted.' said Beiyue curtly with a wry smile and an armfold. 'You told me this much...what do you want in return?'

'...you came from another world, right? Did you come from 'chikyuu'?' Chun asked her hopefully.

"Chikyuu." Beiyue frowned. Japanese word for 'earth'. This girl's Japanese despite this china-esque world. 'You're a reincarnate as well? Yes I am, from Chuugoku(China), that is.' Chun lit up. By her reaction, her little sister was also a transmigrant.

'I'm from Nihon!' Chun lit up before deflating sadly. 'I miss my first mom...she was so warm, loving and doting...but my father and his boss at work killed me at seven years old and I don't know why!' she sniffled. That revelation made Beiyue do a double-take. 'I didn't do anything wrong! They killed me while she went out grocery-shopping for dinner! They took me to my room, Boss poked me in the head with a flaming finger and suddenly, I was here, remembering everything at three years old! I can't rest until I know why! For some reason despite my power, that eludes me. I can only know from you.'

'Flaming finger...where is that boss from and what's his name?'

'Sniff...father called him Timoteo but sometimes just Nono. He would say it's italian for 'grandpa' so mom and I can call him that...'

"Oh boy...if this is what I think it is..." Beiyue thought darkly but she needed more information to be SURE. If what she suspects is true, then this girl is... 'Chun, Nono is italian for 'ninth'.' she told her. 'Grandpa is nonno. Sounds similar and a trick homophone with a different pronunciation. Last question...what's your father's name?'

'Uhm, Sawada Iemitsu.' Beiyue looked utterly floored and Chun can see how shocked Beiyue was. 'Erm...' Beiyue then looked exasperated with a face-palm.

'...its a long story we don't have time for.' said Beiyue as they sensed people coming. 'I'll meet you when we're sure nobody will butt in. Gimme a schedule!'

'Ehm, a two days from now!' Chun stammered out. 'Mom will er, sleep with father on that day and Rou'er will be spending the night at some friend's place and Zhongqi will be out on an expedition...come to my room at midnight.'

'Got it.' and the two were gone in a blink with no one the wiser about their meeting.

And now, two former earthlings will form quite the pair.

Beiyue knows she has an ally in Chun who has all information she wanted, but will only give on a condition that she's powerful enough in this world.

How does this world work? She'll have to look back before asking Chun.
