Hey guys! Here is my first fanfiction on The Quintessential Quintuplets. I've recently gotten into the anime and I love it! I was eager to create some stories about this awesome and funny characters! So here's my first one, which I hope you'll enjoy
Disclaimer: I don't own The Quintessential Quintuplets.
"Alright, quints! Gather around! It's meeting time with your tutor! That'd be me!"
Futaro stood at the end of the table with his arms folded. He waited for the five Nakano sisters to gather around him. He watched as Ichika and Yotsuba took their seats opposite each other, sitting closest to him, while Miku and Ituski sat furthest away from him. Nino, however, stood at the far end of the table with a deep glare on her face; a hint that she had no interest in what their tutor was about to discuss with the five siblings.
"What d'you want us here for, Usegui?" Yotsuba asked cheerfully.
Futaro gazed around with a stern expression at the group of sisters. All five of them made his job of home tutoring them a living hell. He was praying that what he was about to ask of them would be without a catch.
"As I'm sure you all remember," he began, "I left you all two nights ago with some math homework to complete."
"HOMEWORK?"
The quintuplets repeated the single word in a tone of shared horror. Their eyes went wide as their faces filled with expressions that did not give their tutor any hope.
"That's right," Futaro sighed. "You should've all done it by now. You had all day yesterday to do it. So please hand it to me."
"Well, I'm sorry, Futaro..." Ichika smiled uncomfortably as she fidgeted nervously. "But I didn't get a chance to do my homework yesterday."
Not the least bit pleased to hear the eldest sibling hadn't done the work he had set her and her sisters, Futaro raised an eyebrow suspiciously. "And why is that?"
"Well, I had to go out to shoot a scene for the movie I'm currently working on. I was so tired when I got home..." Ichika paused to yawn. "I just had to get some sleep..."
"Tired?" Futaro burst out. "How could you possibly be tired after your shoot?! You're only playing the girl who dies in the first few minutes in the movie!"
"As usual." Ichika chuckled. "Guess I'm starting to get typecast into my roles..."
With an irritable grunt, Futaro turned to his other four students, hoping they would have carried out the homework he had set them.
"Well I didn't get any time to do my homework either..." Itsuki sniffed. "I had a very important lunch to go to!"
"A very important lunch?" Yotusuba echoed, surprised.
"You never said you were meeting up anyone yesterday, Itsuki," Nino murmured.
"Well that's because I wasn't meeting anyone! The only person who I was taking out to lunch was me!"
"What?!" Futaro looked like he might faint as he gaped in shock at the youngest sister. "You mean to say you neglected to do your homework just to take yourself out to eat?!"
"I couldn't help it! That new restaurant in town has been capturing my interest for several weeks now! I just had to go sample the food there!"
Itsuki rubbed her stomach. It let off a growl over how hungry she was feeling, despite everything she had eaten at the new restaurant the day before. The youngest Nakano sibling blushed with embarrassment.
"Besides, I could hardly cook anything here when Miku was dominating the kitchen all day yesterday!"
Futaro turned his attention to the quietest sibling, his frustrated look met by her usual emotionless gaze.
"And why were you messing about in the kitchen?" he asked through clenched teeth. "Instead of doing your homework?!"
"I wanted to try out some new recipes I found in the cookbook," Miku answered softly. "Anyone could master them."
"Yeah ... anyone who's not you, Miku!" Nino fumed. "I had to spend all day outta the apartment when you filled it with smoke! No way was I gonna let my beautiful makeup get smudged by your horrendous cooking skills!"
Futaro's shoulders sagged. Nino had just indirectly confirmed that she had wasted the day before instead of doing her homework as well. He felt he shouldn't be too surprised by the most hot-headed quintuplet thinking of her appearance instead of her academics. Besides, giving how she was the Nakano sibling he got on with least of all, he should have known she would find any excuse not to carry out the task he set them.
"C'mon then, Yotsuba..." The long-suffering tutor sighed. "What's your reason for not doing your homework. I pray it can't be anywhere near as bad as your sisters' excuses..."
"Actually, I just remembered, Uesugi..." The most peppy of the quintuplets smiled brightly. "I did do my homework yesterday!"
"You - did?!"
Futaro's eyes lit up over what Yotsuba had just told him. He was ecstatic to learn that at least one of the siblings had done the work he had set for them. Unable to stop himself, he leapt upwards in delight, punching the air triumphantly.
"YES!" he cried happily. "Oh well done, Yotsuba! Well done! You really make me feel I am not wasting my time tutoring you! I wish your sisters could be more like you!"
Ichika chuckled in amusement.
Nina glared and crossed her arms.
Miku's eyes widened as she quickly dropped her gaze.
Itsuki frowned huffily over her tutor's lack of ability to control himself.
"Why thank you, Uesugi." With a giggle, Yotsuba took out her sheet filled with math questions to pass it to her tutor. "Here's my homework."
Still beaming with relief that at least one of his students had done to the work he'd asked them to do, Futaro took the homework sheet from Yotsuba and held it up to examine it.
The broad smile on his face disappeared as his jaw fell open in horror.
"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!" he bellowed.
Every math question on the sheet of paper had a wrong answer written next to it. Not a single one of them had a correct answer. Futarou couldn't believe what he was seeing. He had deliberately made sure to give out homework that even these underachieving quintuplets could do correctly - and the only one who had attempted it hadn't gotten a single question on the sheet right.
"Is something wrong, Uesugi?" Yotsuba asked meekly.
"YEAH, THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG!" Furato exploded. "YOUR HOMEWORK! YOU'VE DONE IT ALL WRONG!"
"So I have..." Yotsuba made no attempt to deny how her work couldn't have been any poorer as she rubbed the back of her head. "But hey! At least I managed to do my homework! That's the main thing! Right, Uesugi?!
A sweat drop ran down the back of Futaro's head. He couldn't believe how cheery Yotsuba was being over not getting a single question on her homework right. He gazed around at the quintuplets who made his job of home-tutoring them a living hell.
Why couldn't he have been assigned to students who took school work as seriously as he did?
Why did it have to be these five?
Thanks for reading my first story on The Quintessential Quintuplets. I'm sorry if it wasn't any good! Hoping to write some more stories on this fantastic anime soon! :D
Goodbye!
