Hola chicas! This is my second multi-chapter fic and I hope it goes as well as my first one! As said in the description, this is an AU where Chloe gets the miraculous instead of Marinette. I'll try my best to keep posting every Saturday but I can't promise. I hope you like!

"Are you kidding me?"

Chloe Bourgeois was standing furiously in front of her father, who was holding a letter from school. "What do you mean I'm not going to be in Adrien's class? That's ridiculous, utterly ridiculous!" she fumed. "I demand that you fix this immediately!"

André stammered nervously back, "But, Chloe, dearest, the school has already arranged the classes in a certain way! I can't possibly change it now, on the first day!" He shakily opened out a small box and offered, "Instead, you and Sabrina can have this pair of Louis Vuitton friendship bracelets!"

Chloe took one glance at the bracelets and slammed the box shut. "Sabrina doesn't deserve this until she's done at least 5 weeks of my homework. Are you the mayor or what? Fix it, daddy, or I'm gonna make sure you don't get re-elected!"

Andre didn't think it would be possible for a 14 year old girl to ruin his mayoral campaign but knowing Chloe, she'd find some way. "Ok, ok, I'll contact Principle Damocles," he conceded reluctantly.

"Perfect!" Chloé squealed. She knew just how to get her dad to do what she wanted and she used that knowledge to her advantage at all times. As she strolled out of the hotel, she felt her mood significantly brighten. An uncommon smile appeared on her face and she hummed a tune of her favourite song. Even Butler Jean was shocked by the change in her usually grumpy demeanor. "Now, with Adrien in my class, I can finally find a way to make him date me!"

Her limo dropped her off near school and she began walking to the entrance. At the red light, she spotted an old man with a stick stumbling slowly through the moving traffic. She looked around to see that no one had taken notice of the man. Rolling her eyes, she rushed to his side and pulled him across the road right before a car sped past. His tired hazel eyes swivelled over to Chloé and he murmured, "Thank you very much, young lady."

A small smile made its way onto Chloe's face as she watched him hobble down the street. Suddenly, she remembered she was in public and when she saw people, some even her classmates, staring curiously at her, a red blush dusted her cheeks. Mean girls like Chloe weren't supposed to help old men trying to cross the road. "Move along, people!" she angrily ordered. "Don't you have anything better to do? Oh, I forgot! Of course you don't!" It seemed the queen bee was back. As Chloe stormed off to class, she scolded herself, "Come on, Chloe! Keep in line. You have a reputation. Don't mess it up now."

Once Chloe got into class, she was glad to see no one was in her seat, directly behind Adrien. Since there was still some time before school started, she decided to torment a few more people to make up for her slip-up earlier. Her icy blue scanned over the class and locked on a girl she hadn't seen before. She was hunched over a mobile phone and an evil smirk grew on Chloe's face. "Fresh blood." Sauntering over to her desk, Chloe slammed her hand in front of Alya's face. "So, new kid," she began. "Today may be your first day but there are some things you need to know. First of all, I am the most popular person in this whole school and have been since le école so don't even try to come for my spot."

Unimpressed, Alya looked up from her phone and drawled, "I guess you're also the cockiest person and have been since le école. I'd rather stay humble old me than try to be anything like you, thank you very much."

Eyeing Alya's attire disdainfully, Chloe shot back "It's clear you wouldn't stand a chance of ever being popular. Now, I don't know how things worked in you old school but I'll give you some advice for this one." She leant in as close as possible to Alya's face and spat, "Don't bother me and I might spare you from public humiliation." Alya scoffed and went back to her phone. Chloe was about to insult her about something else when, out of the corner of her eye, she spied Marinette sitting in her spot. "Ugh, why can't everyone just be smart for once?" She strutted over to Marinette's desk, slammed her hand on the table and said, "Marinette Dupain-Cheng."

The poor girl mumbled helplessly, "Here we go again."

"That's my seat."

"But, Chloe, this has always been my seat." Marinette looked so done with everything that Chloe almost felt sorry for her. Key word being almost.

"Not anymore!" Sabrina slid next to Marinette and continued, "New school, new year, new seats."

Chloe didn't know when her trusty slave, uh, friend appeared but she was glad she didn't have to deal with Dupain-Cheng's stupidity by herself. "So why don't you just go sit beside that new girl over there?" She pointed to Alya, who glared at her.

"Bu-,"

Tired of talking to her arch-enemy, Chloe interrupted, "Listen, Adrien's arriving today and since that's going to be his seat," she gestured to the desk in front of them. "This is going to be my seat. Get it?" she snarled, leaning into her face.

"Uh, who's Adrien?" Marinette nervously asked.

Chloe and Sabrina burst into laughter and the blonde scoffed, "Can you believe she doesn't know who Adrien is? What rock have you been living under?"

Sabrina added, "He's only a famous model!"

"And I am his best friend! He adores me. Ugh, go on, move!"

"Hey, who elected you queen of seats?"Alya suddenly interrupted.

Chloe taunted, "Ooh, look Sabrina! We've got a little do-gooder in our class this year!" She got in her face again. (A/N i just realised she does that a lot… Chloe, is there something you need to tell us? ;-)) "What're you gonna do super-newbie? Shoot beams at me with your glasses?"

"Wouldn't you like to know," the brunette hissed. She reached around Chloe to pull Marinette away. "Come on."

Chloe, satisfied, slid into the seat next to Sabrina and waited for Adrien to arrive. Ms Bustier was beginning to introduce herself but all Chloe could think was Adrien. "Ugh, he should've been here by now!" she impatiently muttered.

Meanwhile, said Adrien was being driven back to his mansion with Gorilla and Nathalie. "So much for a new start," he despondently thought to himself.

When they arrived, Nathalie immediately began his French History lesson, asking him questions about the topic from previous years. "Who was the first president of the fifth French republic?" she asked, pacing next to the table.

"Everyone thinks it was De Gaulle but it was actually René Coty before the first elections," he recited emotionlessly.

"Excellent, Adrien!"

Suddenly, Gabriel appeared. "Give me a minute, would you Nathalie?"

"Yes, sir," she stepped to the side so Adrien could look at his father.

Gabriel began coldly, "You are not going to school. I've already told you."

Shocked, Adrien looked over to Nathalie. "Traitor." She at least had the decency not to meet his eyes. "But father!" he began to protest.

"Everything you need is right here where I can keep an eye on you. I will not have you outside in that dangerous world," he interrupted authoritatively.

"It's not dangerous, Father! I'm always stuck in here by myself. Why can't I go out and make friends just like everybody else?"

"Because you are not like everyone else! You are my son! Continue." Adrien looked down defeatedly as his father walked away.

Nathalie began to offer, "We can leave it there for today if you-," Adrien ran off, not allowing her to finish.

As he ran past the family portrait, he thought angrily, "He doesn't care. He never cares about what I want. It's as if I'm his little puppet. If only Mom was still here."

At Le Grand Paris, Chloe was watching the news intently. At the sight of Stoneheart, she scoffed disdainfully. "Of course Ivan was turned into a supervillain," she said scornfully. "That great big oaf doesn't have enough brain to think of anything other than fighting." Suddenly, her eyes locked onto a small black box on her table. "What's this doing here?" She picked it up and examined the ornate red pattern. "Ugh, it doesn't look like it's worth much." Chloé opened the box cautiously and for a split second, she spotted a pair of earrings. Then, a bright red light shone and she dropped the box in surprise, shielding her eyes from the light. After a few seconds, a small mouse-like object with antennae appeared. It was red with a few black spots adorning its body. Chloe stared at the floating object in awe. "What are you?" she asked quietly.

"I'm a kwami and my name is Tikki!" Chloé was shocked that it actually answered but allowed it to continue. " I give you powers of creation. You've been chosen to stop Stoneheart!"

Chloe blinked and flipped her hair, "Of course I have! I'm the most exceptional person in all of France and it seemed like the universe is finally giving me some credit! Maybe being a superhero will finally show Mom that I deserve her attention!"

Tikki immediately cried, "No! No one can ever know that I exist! If they do, the super-villain that controls Stoneheart will take your miraculous away!"

"Ugh, fine! How do I even become a superheroine?"

"You have to say 'Tikki, spots on' but don't say it yet! I still need to explain everything to you!" Tikki tried to explain but Chloe took no notice.

"Tikki, spots on!" A bright pink light travelled up her body, leaving a black-spotted red suit in its wake. Black thread wrapped around her ponytail and the ends sprung up like antennae. A mask appeared over her icy blue eyes as she felt a yo-yo on her side. Rushing to the mirror to admire herself, Chloe whispered, "I look like a real superhero!" A determined look appeared on her face and she leapt out of her window.

"Oh my god!" A car crashed short of Marinette's head and she had never felt more terrified in her life. Stoneheart was rampaging through the streets, searching for Kim and unfortunately, Alya had ditched her to find the superhero that was supposedly going to save them. Marinette, usually one to hide from any danger, had initially planned on going straight home but after seeing how powerful Stoneheart was, she summoned as much courage as possible and went to find Alya. She was starting to regret her decision as another tree crashed into a building behind her. "Alya!" she yelled desperately. "Where are you? This isn't safe for you!" She looked up for any sign of the superheroes and squinting her eyes, she spotted a small black dot speeding towards her. As it grew bigger, she realised it was a person but it was too late. Marinette braced herself for the crash but when it didn't come, she cautiously opened her eyes to see the black-covered person holding themself up with a long, silver baton that was stretched out between two buildings. "Uhh, hi!" she awkwardly called out to him.

"Hi!" he yelled back.

"Can you get down from there?"

"Uh, yeah! Lemme do that!" He retracted the baton and dropped to his feet next to Marinette. "Hi again!"

"Uhh…" Marinette's bluebell eyes roved over the stranger's form and took in his ruffled golden locks and black-leather suit. "Leather has never looked more attractive to me than it does now." Her eyes travelled back up to his face and his white teeth were stretched out in a sheepish smile. Their eyes met and a deep red blush dusted her cheeks. "Hi! W-when did y-you fall f-from heaven? I MEAN h-how did- when you f-fell i-in the sky?" she blabbered helplessly.

The stranger burst out laughing and teased, "Well, if I knew falling from the sky would lead me to a pretty girl, I would have done it a long time ago!" Marinette stared dumbly at him and his confident smile became quite nervous. "I-I'm sorry, was it okay for me to s-say that? Talking to people is not my forte."

"N-no, it's fine!" she reassured him. "I just don't get complimented very often by dashing men in black." The stranger blushed and rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "I must ask though. Why are you in a skintight black suit?" she inquired curiously.

"Oh, uh, this may be hard to believe but I'm pretty sure I'm a superhero."

"Oh! So you're meant to save us from Stoneheart, right? What's your superhero name? Cat in Black?" she teased.

He thought for a second and grinned, "No. It's Chat Noir. And I've gotta go, Pigtails." He grabbed her hand and kissed her knuckles before propelling himself into the air. "Keep an eye out for me on TV!"

Marinette stood dumbly where he left her and brought the hand he kissed to her lips. "Woah…"

Chloe leapt effortlessly across the rooftops of Paris, exhilarated by the feel of the wind rushing through her hair. The freedom of being able to do anything and everything without constant scrutiny made her heart soar. Eventually, she reached the Seine. A few people noticed her on a nearby roof and pointed, yelling, "Look! It's a superhero!"

She stood proudly and announced, "People of Paris, I am Scarlet Bug, the new superhero!" Leaping to where the civilians were, she began high-fiving and taking photos, completely forgetting the villain.

"Do you know if there are any other superheroes that you have to work with?"a voice called out.

Chloe replied cockily, "Nope! I'm the only one!"

"Then who's that?" A phone was thrust into her face and a live video of a black-clad superhero battling Stoneheart began playing. He dodged every attack agilely and called out, "Where are you, partner?!"

"Ugh, he's doing fine!" Chloe reasoned. "I'm going to continue telling the world who I am!" She ran off, leaping onto another building and running away. After a while she got considerably tired and stopped on a rooftop. Pulling the yo-yo from her side, she scoffed disappointingly, "What's this meant to be for? Tricks?" She slid it open and read the user's guide. "The miraculous enhances all physical abilities. I know that! Yo-yo's features: capturing the akuma; one-time power Lucky Charm. Words for transformation are 'Tikki, spots on' and words for detransformation are 'Spots off". The pink light enveloped her body again, leaving her in her normal clothes, and Tikki flew out of her earrings. "Hey! I didn't want to detransform!" she protested petulantly.

Tikki shook her head and scolded, "Chloe, you didn't allow me to finish explaining everything to you! You need to go and help Chat noir defeat the villain!"

"No! I will not." Chloe stomped her foot and turned away. "You have no idea how long it takes to look this good."

"Chloe! If you don't capture the akuma from Stoneheart, I will be forced to take the earrings back to the guardian, who will choose someone else to be Scarlet Bug!" Tikki's usually sweet voice was hard and stern.

At this, Chloe turned around and pleaded, "No, please, I need it. Without the miraculous I'm just," she sagged to her knees. "I'm just the mean girl from school that no one likes. Not even my own mom. Please, Tikki, don't take it away!"

Tikki softened and sat on Chloe's shoulder comfortingly. "Then do the right thing! Go and help Chat Noir defeat the akuma!"

Chloe sighed and stood up. "Tell me what I have to do."

Adrien was pretty excited to be a new superhero but so far, all he had done was make Stoneheart angry and get beaten up. He had learned that hitting the supervillain only made him grow bigger the hard way and, based on what Plagg had told him, he surmised that the akuma was in the closed fist. What he didn't know was why his supposed partner was yet to show up. "Where are you, Bug-Lady!" he yelled desperately.

"I'm here, Cat-Boy!" A red and black-spotted girl landed next to him.

"What took so long? Actually, it doesn't matter. We need to capture the akuma from Stoneheart. I think it's in his fist."

"Ok, Mr Smarty-Pants, if you know everything then why don't you just do it yourself?" She laughed wickedly and added, "Oh yeah! You can't. The only person who can do it is moi!"

Stoneheart lunged at Scarlet Bug but she froze, terrified. Chat Noir pushed her to the side and was sent flying across the football stadium. "Uh, I'm all for self-confidence but we really need to defeat this guy!" he called out.

Scarlet Bug rolled her eyes and grumbled, "Fine! Lucky Charm!"

After the akuma was defeated, Chloe watched the butterfly fly away before remembering. "Oh! I have to capture the akuma." She brought out her yo-yo. "Uhh, capture the evil butterfly?" Nothing happened.

"Uh, maybe try spinning it?" Chat offered.

Scarlet Bug spun the yo-yo a bright light shone from it. "Uh, no more evil butterflies!" she swung it to the retreating butterfly. The yo-yo closed on the akuma and she retracted the string, bringing it back to her. "Uh, what do I...?" Scarlet Bug began cautiously.

"Try tapping it."

She did as he asked and a white butterfly flew out of the yo-yo. "Now I have to throw the Lucky Charm in the air and shout," "Miraculous Ladybug!" Red ladybugs swept over all of Paris, cleaning up the mess. Stoneheart melted away, leaving Ivan behind. "Right, Cat-person, see ya!"

Scarlet Bug swung off, leaving Chat with Ivan. He picked up the note from Kim and walked to the despondent boy. "There's nothing wrong with telling a girl how you feel!" he comforted encouragingly.

"Find a way to show her how you feel using something that you're good at!" He turned, suprised, to see the girl he met earlier standing next to him. "A picture, flowers…"

"A song!" Ivan exclaimed.

Chat nodded and added, "Let her know you feel but try to be… gentle?"

Ivan smiled and nodded. "Thank you Mr…?"

"Chat Noir." As Ivan walked away, Chat turned to the girl and smirked, "Well, I guess the universe really wanted me to see you again, Miss."

She blushed and giggled weakly, "Yeah… it was q-quite cool to see you defeat Stoneheart like that. You m-make a pretty awesome superhero."

Chat grinned and asked, "Don't you think Scarlet Bug was also quite cool?"

Marinette wrinkled her nose and shook her head. "Nah. She was pretty rude to you and didn't do all that much work."

Chat shrugged and said, "Ah well. I must be off, Pigtails."

"Marinette." She smiled and held out a fist.

Chat bumped his fist against hers. "See ya, Marinette."

The next day at school, Chloe saw her classmates asking Ivan about being a supervillain. An insult was on her tongue when Tikki buzzed inside her purse. Rolling her eyes, she opened it and saw the red kwami shake her head. "Do the right thing, Chloe!" she encouraged.

Chloe rolled her eyes again but grinned happily when she spotted Adrien at the doorway. "ADRIKINS!" she screamed excitedly, running over and wrapping her arms around his neck.

"Hey, Chlo." He pushed her down and smiled at her before everyone started crowding around them, asking for photos and autographs.

Chloe led them to class and directed him to his seat. She then took the bubblegum in her mouth and was about to put it on Marinette's chair when Tikki buzzed in her bag again. Her tiny voice rang in her ears. "Do the right thing!" She rolled her eyes again and put the gum in a tissue, throwing it in the bin. "I'm too good for this world.

Meanwhile, Adrien tried to talk to the boy next to him, who was wearing headphones. He offered his hand. "Hey, I'm Adrien!"

The boy looked at his hand and asked, "You're friends with Chloe, huh?"

"Uh, yeah. She's like my only friend."

The boy looked at him pityingly and shook his hand. "I'm Nino and you it's time for you to make some new friends, dude!"

Adrien grinned happily. He noticed two girls entering and immediately recognised the blue-haired girl. "M-Marinette?"

She heard him and turned, confused. "Hi, I don't think we've met before?"

Remembering that he was out of costume, Adrien stammered, "O-Oh yeah! Uh, I've s-seen your p-place I MEAN f-face before i-in Paris?"

She giggled and replied, "Okay? What's your name?"

"A-Adrien."

"Well, nice to meet you Adrien!" As she and Alya walked to their seats, Adrien smiled adoringly after her.

"Dude! You already got your eye on Marinette?" Nino teased.

"No, of course not!" he denied. His eyes drifted back to her and his smile grew.

Nino smirked, "Sure. I totally believe you."

At the end of the day, rain was pouring down. Marinette being Marinette had forgotten her umbrella and held her hand in the rain worriedly. "The last thing I need right now is a cold," she muttered.

"Well, good thing I came prepared!" She turned around to see Adrien, standing with an umbrella. "W-we can walk to the b-bottom of the stairs together," he offered nervously. Marinette smiled and nodded, stepping under the umbrella next to Adrien. Little did she know, the close proximity made Adrien's face extremely red and he chuckled nervously.

"So how was your first day of school?" she asked.

"Uh, it was okay. I don't really have anything to measure it against since it's my first day of school ever."

"Really?" Marinette sounded surprised. They arrived at the bottom of the stairs and she turned to him. "I think you did a pretty good job." She smiled appreciatively at him and patted his arm. "See you tomorrow, Adrien!"

She began walking away. "Wait!" She turned around, confused. "Uh, you c-can have m-my um-umbrella cause I'll be a car I MEAN I'll ride the car?"

Marinette smiled and took the umbrella from his hand, their fingertips brushing for a split second. "Thank you, Adrien," she said sincerely. "See you tomorrow?"

"Y-yeah, see you toma-ma haha huh?" Adrien stammered.

Plagg flew out and teased, "First day of school and we already have two lovebirds!"

Adrien blushed and pushed him away. "Shut up, Plagg. She's just… amazing!" His heart warmed and he smiled contentedly. "Amazing."
